Summary: The article discusses a situation where someone's daughter has married a Babalao (a practitioner of Santeria or other Afro-Caribbean religions). Instead of fighting or rejecting the Babalao, the author suggests presenting the person to God through prayer and fasting, trusting that God has a purpose for everything. The author also reminds readers to be meek as doves but cunning as snakes, and to remember that we do not fight against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers. The article concludes by encouraging readers to share the love and mercy of Christ with those who are lost, and to be part of the solution rather than the problem.
A few days ago I received an email to which for reasons of discretion I have omitted some details, but I thought it necessary to share it because I know that it is a situation to which we have been exposed in some way at some point. The email in question said the following: "I have a problem, my daughter is married to a babalao and from there my life and that of my family turned into chaos, I would like you to explain to me knowingly what I am dealing with and what I should do. "
In truth this person has a problem because he is dealing with someone who does not know Christ, he has simply made a pact with Satan because he does not know any better. Generally in these cases we try to fight with our strength, which would bring problems within the family and estrangement with his daughter. We must remember that the word says to be "meek as doves, but cunning as snakes" and that is what we are going to do in cases like this.
You are not going to introduce the person to Christ, you are not going to reject him, you are not going to create a tragedy. You are going to present the person to God, you are going to start praying and if God puts it in your heart, fast for that person by presenting him to the Lord so that He prepares your heart to receive the Gospel of Salvation. We cannot lose heart. Until now, it is possible that we have been battling against that person, but we must be very clear about what Ephesians 6.12 says "Because we do not fight against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly regions ”and later clarifies in 1 Peter 3.22“ who having ascended to heaven is at the right hand of God; angels, authorities and powers are already subject to Him ”Since all powers are subject to Him It is to him that we must turn, because when we face the devil directly, he makes us fall and we do not give testimony of who we are.
Have you ever wondered if some ungodly was put in our way so that through our testimony he could know Christ? Sometimes God puts tests like these on us to test our faith and if we are aware that nothing under heaven is beyond His control, then we must trust that He has a purpose with all things and we must obey and submit.
Many, long ago, we were lost in precisely those ways and if today we are servants of the Most High God and we are instruments of blessing in his hands, it is because others were testimony to us and showed us that there was a better way that led to eternal life.
Therefore, brothers, deny yourselves, take up your cross and snatch those lives from the devil, but showing the incomparable Christ in love and mercy, let us remember who we were before He knocked on the door of our hearts and even more, how much patience had been waiting for us to decide to open.
Remember "If we are not part of the solution, then we are part of the problem"
