Summary: In Luke 19, Jesus tells a parable about a nobleman who goes to a far country to receive a kingdom and returns to find out what his servants have done with the money he gave them. The nobleman represents Jesus Christ, who has gone to heaven and is waiting to return to judge the living and the dead. The servants represent us, who are expected to work and serve in the Kingdom of God, using our talents and gifts to contribute to the Lord's work. The nobleman tells his servants to "negotiate," to invest and strive until he returns. We are all given something by the Lord, and it is our responsibility to use it wisely and for His glory.
This sermon is about the parable of the ten servants, in which a nobleman gives each of his servants a mina to invest while he is away. The pastor emphasizes that each of us has been given a provision of power and life by God, and that we have all been called to greatness and to do mighty things for the Kingdom of God. He encourages us to be restless and to constantly wonder how we can use our gifts to render the measure of grace and life that God has placed in us. The pastor also stresses the importance of being faithful in little things, and of being liberal and generous with God. He says that the church has a big call to be entrepreneurial, mission-minded, and apostolic, and that we should be brave, aggressive, and militant in advancing the Kingdom of God. Finally, he talks about the need to build a larger sanctuary for the church in order to continue growing and doing more things for the Lord.
The speaker shares a story about a church in Connecticut that quadrupled in size after renovating their sanctuary. He encourages listeners to not let fear hold them back from investing in the Kingdom of God and to have faith in God's ability to provide. He emphasizes that everything given to the Lord will be rewarded in eternity and challenges listeners to live their lives dedicated to serving God and advancing His Kingdom. The speaker prays for God to activate His call in the hearts of listeners and raise up committed and faithful men and women.
The speaker asks for God's anointing and activation of His call in people's hearts. They pray for people who are persistent and committed to the call, taking one step of faith after another until they reach their goal. They thank and praise God and ask for His teachings to be sealed in people's hearts.
Luke 19, what we are saying is that I have been following as much as possible a series of sermons that focused for a long time on one of the great doctrines of the church which is the Holy Spirit and his ministry and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts , etc. and what I am doing is bringing these teachings on great truths, great principles of Christian doctrine. Last Sunday I had the opportunity to focus on one of the great doctrines of the historic Christian Orthodox Church, which is the divinity of Jesus. Remember that sermon? The divinity of Jesus. Christ as consubstantial with the Father. And we saw how the word of the Lord supports and makes that conclusion almost inevitable.
And I want to develop a little more that profound and essential teaching for the life of the people of God, but today I would have liked to do that, but I want to take the opportunity to sow a seed of faith in your heart and vision about giving generously to the Lord, about being diligent in contributing to the Kingdom of God, I am not only going to talk about money but I am going to talk simply about our lives, our talents, our gifts, giving to the Lord. Chapter 19, 11 to 27. I will return to the theme of Christ and his deity sometime soon. But this morning I want to take advantage of all that we have done here to educate you, brothers.
Let me tell you that one of the ways I can bless you the most is by encouraging you to be generous to God. Say amen even if it is to convince yourself of it. There is nothing more beautiful than giving to the Lord and being faithful. Also let me tell you that when you are called to the Kingdom of God it is to serve and to use your gifts in favor of the Kingdom of the Lord. Luke 19, 11 to 27, says there:
“...When they heard these things, Jesus continued and told a parable because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the Kingdom of God would manifest immediately... .”
In other words, they thought that the thing was for now, that Christ was going to manifest all his power, his deity, his messianic character right away. So the Lord wanted to remove that innocence from their minds and better adjust their expectations.
“.... and the Lord said, a nobleman went to a far country to receive a kingdom and returned and calling ten of his servants gave them ten minas.... – minas is an amount of money, let's say he gave him 500 dollars, it was a basic amount of money- .... he gave them ten minas –not gold minas or anything like that, it was a coin, understand well,- .... he gave them ten minas and said, 'negotiate'....
Say everyone negotiate, that word is very key in this text. Negotiate.
“... negotiate while I come. But his fellow citizens hated him and sent an embassy after him saying, 'We do not want this man to rule over us.' It happened that when he returned after receiving the kingdom, he ordered those servants to whom he had given the money to be called before him to find out what each one had negotiated. The first came saying, 'Lord, your mina has earned ten minas', he said to him, 'it is well good servant because you have been faithful in a little, you will have authority over ten cities'....” < p> Just in case more than that escapes me, look there, because in a little... because in a little you have been faithful now I am going to put you on great authority.
"...another came saying, 'Lord, your mine has produced 5 mines,' and he also said to this one, 'you also over 5 cities.' Another came saying, 'Lord, here is your mine, which I have kept in a handkerchief...'
You can imagine him opening a handkerchief with a very large knot, there opening it to remove the coin, I can see it almost perfectly in my mind.
“... kept in a handkerchief because I had... -what did he have?- ....I was afraid of you because you are a severe man who takes what you did not put and blinds what you you did not sow." Then he said to him, "bad servant, with your own mouth you judge, you knew that I was a severe man who took what I did not put in and that I was blind what I did not sow, why then did you not put my money in the bank so that when I came back I would have received it even if it was with interest?" And he said to those who were present, "Take the mina and give it to the one who has ten minas." They told him, 'Sir, you have ten minas.' For I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given to those who do not yet have what they have will be taken away. And also those my enemies who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and behead them before me....”
The Lord bless his holy word. It's a bit of a severe picture of Christ, isn't it? That's not the little Jesus there with the sheep in his hand, passing his hand like that with some blond hair, some very delicate little braids. This is a severe being who expects return from what he is rendering and presenting to his servants. And notice that, one of the interesting things about this passage is the very tone of the passage. It's a serious tone, it's a business tone, it's an almost military tone to a certain extent. The position of this Lord, of this owner, this tycoon, a business man, a nobleman says here. Eugenes, means well born, when the word that is translated is a noble man, Eugenes. If someone is called Eugenio so that you know, what his name means is that he is well born, he is of good birth.
The fact is that this man was of good birth, that is, a good family. He was a noble man. This noble man is evidently a very clear person in his affairs and he runs his house, and manages his house which in this case is the church in a very conscientious and very corporate-like way. Notice that, because it is very important that we understand.
Evidently this nobleman is a figure of whose? Who is it? Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus is telling a parable about himself. This man who is going to a far country, what is the far country to which Jesus Christ went? Heaven, he ascended, says the word, and he is there sitting at the right hand of God the Father, those who know the apostolic belief waiting to come to judge the living and the dead. He is there waiting.
The word says that the day and the hour no one knows, except the Father, but the Lord is there, he went to a distant place. Also look at something interesting here and it's something else. The purpose for which the Lord tells this parable, why does he tell it? Because the disciples and there was a lot of idea in Israel that when the Messiah arrived he was going to install the Kingdom of God immediately, he was going to immediately place Israel as the top of the nations, he was going to return the Davidic kingdom to Israel and immediately everything was going to be very nice and easy and resolved.
But Lord knew it wasn't that easy. And after the fact that the Apostle Paul, writing in one of the letters to the Thessalonians, again reminded the church, look, do not be fooled by this that the Kingdom of God is coming immediately because the Kingdom of God is not going to come until certain guidelines are met, certain things that have to fall into place before the Kingdom of God comes.
That is, this is very important because brothers, many times we have an easy and false image of what the Kingdom of God is. There are many people who think, well, if I enter the Gospel everything will be resolved immediately, I won't have any more problems, ha ha ha, as they say out there. We get a tremendous surprise, when we realize that things are not so easy, that we enter the Kingdom of God to fight, that we enter the Kingdom of God, of course we enter now with new strength, we have power, we have grace from God, we are more than winners, but we have to hit the devil and from time to time we also get hit, right? And that is part of the process. God expects a warrior people, God expects a people that while he arrives, whenever, we are faithful and that while we are in the Kingdom of God, in the Gospel we always keep our hand on the plow, doing the work of the Lord until he comes.
So, the Lord wanted to tell you this requires effort, it requires patience, it requires persistence, the Christian life is not an easy life, brothers. It's a life for heroes, Hallelujah! But it is a life in which God promises you victory in every situation in which you find yourself, but you have to fight, you have to make an effort. There is an expectation that you are expected to do something to earn yourself, not to earn your salvation. No, because salvation is not earned, but to justify your presence of all that God has done in your favor.
The environment, when we enter the sphere of the Gospel we enter to work, we enter to serve, we enter to give, brothers. Many people come to the Kingdom of God to be given, to be served, to be done this way, to be done that way, to be ministered to, to have their needs met, to be prayed for, so that, As the Chileans say, scratch their tummy, scratch their tummy. And that's not the only thing. Of course you do, in the Kingdom of God you receive but you are also supposed to give, to work, to be a man, a woman, hard-working and brave. That is important, that is God's expectation.
It says here that this rich and noble man took his servants, he had to make a very long journey. Imagine in those times a trip. I had to go to a distant country, I had to go, let's say, to China and at that time it was not like you take a plane and leave in a moment and keep in touch by email and by phone with your employees. No, he was leaving and while he was there there was no communication, there was going to be no contact in a sense and they had to use their own understanding to comply with the guidelines that he had left them.
Now, what are the guidelines that this noble man leaves to his servants? He lines them up, I imagine them, he puts the ten of them standing there, one next to the other and I imagine him walking while he gives a speech of encouragement and instructions, and he tells them, look, here you are. you have 500 dollars, you have 500, 500, 500, and at ten you give them a check for 500 dollars and have them sign a receipt committing to use that money in an appropriate, prudent and profitable way. And he says to them, I ultimately don't care how you spend that money, as long as you do it within the overall vision of my corporation. But I do hope that when I return from this long journey you will tell me what you have done with that money. While I'm over there traveling and doing things and attending to my business there, and resolving my affairs to receive that kingdom as Christ is waiting for the Father to do everything he has, the Holy Spirit here on earth, etc. and then the Father tells him, ok, now I give you the scepter of command, of authority over the nations. Come down and take lordship, I he has it in a spiritual sense, but humanity has not yet fully recognized the lordship of Christ.
But one day, he says, as every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, one day all nations will be turned over to Jesus at his second coming. Meanwhile what's going on, who is supposed to be working here on earth to render the Lord's gifts and money. Who? Us.
Brothers, stand up for a moment, we are going to do something prophetic, everyone stand up, everyone stand up. I hate to disturb your comfort zone for a moment. Stand up. To each one of you and to me as well, who am here in front of you, the Lord has told me, he has told you 'negotiate, invest until I come'. Realize right now that the Lord is represented here in my person, and that the Lord is looking at you, each one of you and is saying, 'negotiate, invest, strive, work, do everything in your power. part, invest your energies, your talents, everything you have, your time, your profession, everything, I hope you will negotiate until I come.' Have you received that commission? If you have received it, you can sit down.
So, this nobleman stops his servants there and reads them the booklet, gives each one something. Look at that brothers, each one of his ten servants receives something and in this case receives the same amount, a mina. No one comes to tell me that the Lord did not give me anything. Look, you can be the poorest, most ignorant person in the world, with the fewest resources, a person who has never done anything great, constructive, notorious or whatever, but let me convince you of something, inside of you, listen to this carefully. and receive it in the name of the Lord, within you there is a provision of power and life that God has placed. say amen
Within you is the Holy Spirit of God with all his power. That is for the small and the great, male or female, child or adult or old, rich or poor, highly educated or illiterate, the power of God is within you. And that is what the work does. There are no possible excuses. God has placed an endowment of power in you and if only God's people would internalize that fact and visualize the power of God that is within you. You see that little boy like this, young man, so cute, so handsome, so attractive, that young man has the power of God within him. You have the gift of God in you, you have the spirit of God in you and you are called to be a powerful man of God, you are called to do great powerful things for God.
Remember that the Holy Spirit of God is in your life and that you have been called to greatness. You have been called to be a powerful man who will influence society and who will do mighty wonderful things for the Kingdom of God. You have the gift of God in you. Thank you and have a seat.
Brothers, we all have the power of God within us. Each one of us can do something and if we understood that, if it were recorded in our hearts that when I walk in this world the power of God is within me. God has given something, God has put something in my life, it is not only in the pastor who is up here or in the missionary such and such or in the deacon. No, you have the ability to change the world and to transform it in some way so that the world is not the same because you lived in this world, that when you leave this world there will be a trace of you somewhere. place in the ways of this world, because God has given, God has put his power in you. Each of these men received something and that is important for us to understand, brothers, that God has put something in us and he expects us to do something with it. That is the other part of this matter. When he leaves, he tells them, 'negotiate', negotiate, I would translate, 'invest while I return'. The question is what are you doing with your life to deal with the talent that God has given you. What are you doing? How are you surrendering the gift that God has given you? Because that coin, or that amount of money is a symbol, a substitute for the gifts of the Holy Spirit that God has placed in each one of us.
And then, I believe that each of us should always be restless, brothers, wondering what I am doing to render the measure of grace and life that God placed in me, creativity, energy, the gift, the instrument that God placed in my life. I believe that this is the question that should govern our days. Why do I serve the Lord as a shepherd? Because the Lord called me and I had to put everything else aside and say, Lord, I am going to serve you, because I want my life to count for your kingdom. I want my life to be useful for you and that what you want my life to accomplish, so be it, and each of us has to ask ourselves the same question.
Now, God is not necessarily going to call you to be a pastor, or to be an evangelist, or to be a missionary in another country. Not all of us have to do that. Many of us are simply going to be called to be missionaries at our jobs, in our neighborhood, at school. Some will be called to be Sunday school teachers. Right now there are children being cared for up there. Do you know why this place is so quiet here? Because there are men and women up there striving, investing and negotiating until Christ comes, you know. It could be a Sunday school teacher for the children, it could be the person who tends the parking lot out there, or a Yosmar who is working taking care of the finances. Brothers, there are dozens and I would say even hundreds of thousands of ways to negotiate until he comes, to surrender our gift.
One of the ways, you guys saw this presentation that I did. Look, maybe there are people whom God has endowed with the gift of giving. The Bible speaks of the one who distributes that he does it with diligence. Look it up, I think it's in Romans. There is even a gift of giving and sharing, which is done with generosity, naturally. There are people whom God has endowed with millions and millions of dollars in reserve, and their gift has been to work and give the church money for missionaries, for foundations. Our church has received from different philanthropic foundations and other things that were given by people who made billions of dollars.
The Lilly Endowment gave Copan $650,000 a few years ago for a grant we made for the training of Hispanic pastors here in New England. Lilly, this man founded a pharmaceutical company that is still one of the great pharmaceutical companies in the world and left in his inheritance a very large amount of money for a philanthropic foundation of which a part is for religious purposes. And look at how he is a secular man, he was not a pastor, an evangelist, I don't know he was a teacher or anything, but God gave him the way to get his money, and that money gives hundreds of millions of dollars a year to advance the cause of the Lord. Praise God for that. I would like to have two or three of those here in my church to move all of New England. Let us pray that the Lord will bring them.
But guess what? One way in which you can surrender and negotiate is by giving your tithes, being faithful to the Lord. Look what a way, there are people who want, Lord, take me and have them crucify me there in some Latin American country, a jungle over there. Look, the Lord does not ask you so much, simply give your tithe and be faithful to the Lord. Hallelujah! Be generous with God. That's all, that's one way you can negotiate while he comes.
And see if God is merciful as he tells him, for everything you give me, I'm going to give you a thousand times more, it's a little game that the Lord has. The Lord wants to know, he wants to see that we love him and that we are willing to risk something in obedience to him and to bless his kingdom and that pleases his heart. It's like when our little son brings us a little flower all withered and battered that he has been carrying from who knows where and already has it all destroyed and offers it to him, whose heart doesn't soften? So is our Father. The things that we bring to the Lord are absolutely crude and silly compared to his glory, but he likes to receive these displays of love and affection from us, brothers.
Listen to me, and how conservative we get. When we go to a restaurant with our friends, don't worry. We fight, that I, no, no, I take care of the account and when we come to church, we all get conservative at once and we are here counting money in our pockets with our hands. Not even a blind man counts it as skillfully as we do before pulling it out.
And brothers, God wants us to be liberal, to be generous. It is a way of negotiating while he comes. There are people who say, oh, Lord, I want to be a pastor, I want to evangelize multitudes. Look, start with a little, give to the Lord. In this passage there is a very important principle, essential to the Kingdom of God, the Lord says to the first servant, 'you have been faithful in a little'. If you are not faithful in little, how can you be faithful in much, says the word of the Lord. If you can't even risk something for God, how is God going to bless you. It is a beginning.
A lot of people tell me, well tithing is not in the New Testament. Look, the principle of tithing is everywhere in the New Testament. The principles that support this idea, moreover, I believe that God must be given much more than ten percent because he has no limits. The more you give to the Lord, the more you are blessed, that is what people do not understand, but you have to have the faith to believe it and you have to take risks in the name of the Lord, when there is a cause for God, one has to be the first to say, present, here I am, what is needed for the Kingdom of God. Those are the people that God loves, they are the people that God blesses.
Look, God wants to use the church, God wants to use the minority churches, God wants to use the “poor” Afro-American, African, Latino churches. God wants to use these churches, God wants to use these communities to bless this nation, that's why he brought us. The more I reflect on this lately, the more I realize that these ethnic communities that are coming from all over the world to countries like the United States as a missionary call to revive this nation that is declining more and more every day due to its attachment to the reason and secularism, humanism, have strayed and are blind and need people who have a healthy fear of God and who know the values of the Gospel to come and inseminate and fertilize this nation with their faith and renew it, because God loves to this nation.
God has brought us here from being a people of blessing, to being a source of shalom for this nation. So God has a very big call for the community, in this case let's say the Latino community, and I'm also referring to another of the communities that are here, African, for example, or Haitian, or Brazilian, God has a call for us, what it has for the white race and everything, but I am referring here specifically to those of us who are gathered here, there is a call. That requires strong churches, that requires mission-minded churches, that requires entrepreneurial churches, that requires apostolic churches, that requires pastors with a business and investor mindset, that requires an aggressive, militant church, always conquering territory, always doing something new for the Lord, always investing God's resources to advance and establish the Kingdom of God and to carry out the work that God has entrusted to us in this nation.
Brothers, as a pastor, I don't want to feel over there fighting the enemy and that my congregation is there a mile away saying, yes, pastor go ahead, hit it hard, hit it hard, and they're there taking a Coca Cola as calm as possible. I want my church to be behind me, there next to me fighting and conquering ground for the Kingdom of God in New England. I want to feel that I have warriors by my side, brothers, that I have people who understand God's call, to be brave people, to be aggressive people, to be militant people, to be enterprising people, to be people who invest in the Kingdom of God and is not afraid of the future because she knows that her God is powerful to provide everything she needs if we are faithful to the Lord.
We need to be the church... I know God has great callings for this congregation that we're just scratching the surface of, but you know what? God is saying, look, it's not that easy, the pastor and the pastors are not going to do everything for you, you are also expected to invest. This temple, this sanctuary is crazy, it's one of those things that I tell myself, how do I get into these heights of the game. I've been building brothers for 14 years now, and as soon as we're finishing this thing here, which has cost us so much work, we're already thinking about the next one. But look, we don't fit, this is at 9 in the morning and at 12 it's full again. All the statistical studies say that once a church fills its sanctuary to 80 percent, it stops growing. This has been repeated in thousands and thousands of congregations throughout the United States because there is discomfort, people no longer want to come because they have to sit apart, a number of things, look how cramped you are to take advantage of the space here.
And we have a very small window of opportunity, if we miss the opportunity to build our sanctuary in the next few months to start work, at least break ground, if we don't do it in the next year legally , for long reasons to explain, we lose the opportunity to do it. Unless the sea does not open because we have already asked the city for an extension and for all I know they are not going to give us a second extension. We have to start building that sanctuary. So, I don't want us to stay locked up in this place. We are a visionary church, brothers, you think that I undertake this with ease and tranquility, simply out of inertia because I want to see something bigger. I rebuke the devil in terms of any pride thing, that's not the idea. The idea is to advance the Kingdom of God, the idea is a place where lives can come. I am convinced that when we have a larger sanctuary, we will be able to continue growing and doing more things for the name of the Lord.
One of the churches that we visited was a church in Connecticut now on this mission trip that we did, and Pastor Rick Aquiles, a friend of whom we have been working on these things for a long time, a beautiful sanctuary, a beautiful church . It is 120 years old since it was built. Bautista renovated and they just built a whole wing about three years ago, a beautiful sanctuary and he told me, we have quadrupled since we opened the sanctuary.
I know there are many people waiting, because it's the social dynamics, you see? And it's not that one builds buildings for them to come... No, it's that we need, years ago we should have built a bigger sanctuary, so that we can... I'm building for the future, I I am building to conquer, I am building to prepare the Kingdom of God. I know that right now when the churches want to do something for revival there are no places, it is very difficult and the churches that have large temples do not even want to lend them or use them to advance many times for the Kingdom of God. I respect you, I love you, amen. Glory to the Lord. each one with his God, etc. but visionary churches are needed, brothers. Churches are needed that feel, no, God has called me to build his kingdom and to work for the Kingdom of God. God has called me to use my gifts, my talents to advance the Kingdom of God.
And those are the people God uses to do great things. I saw Sister Elsie Vergara, mother, here, and I remembered Pastor Juan Vergara who founded this congregation 20-odd years ago. I imagine that when Reverend Vergara began this church in 1982, he did not imagine, in fact, I do not believe that he had in mind that the church that he founded was going to arrive, it was going to have the evolutions that it has had and it was going to to get to do the things he has done.
Sometimes you start small things, brothers, and you don't know where you can go. What's more, I know that we still don't understand everything that God wants to do through this community, everything that God has, all the wealth that he has here within us and sometimes because of our small mentality, brothers, and limited , and fearful. What was it that defeated this man? The fear, the fear of the future, he did not know what was going to happen and he was not sure and he thought about the dangers, and he thought about the risks, and what if I put that money in and I lose it, and then this Lord of mine who is so Severe and so demanding, he cuts off my head. And he had a sea of doubts and questions and risks and he thought of all the risks but he did not think of all the possibilities and many times we God wants to bless us, he wants to use us, he wants to advance us, he wants to take us to new levels, to new heights in he and we are here thinking about what if... and we miss the opportunity to be blessed and be a blessing.
Let me confess something that I do not confess with any kind of pride, but quite the opposite, with shame. For you to see... when Reverend Vergara, we started six months in Southend at the Emanuel Gospel Center there we were, we were a small group, a handful of people. Six months later, the temple that we had occupied in Cambridge for 15 years became available, a beautiful temple, a typical New England sanctuary, red brick, with its high vault, classic sanctuary, large, and also had several classrooms and other things next to it. It was a very beautiful facility and they gave it to us as a gift, because the North American church that had been there originally had been reduced to a handful of people.
And I've thought a lot about that process that goes on a lot here in New England but I'm not going to go into it, and finally they had to hand over the sanctuary with a parsonage in Watertown and also with all the class facilities. And Pastor Vergara spoke to the small group that we had at that time and encouraged us to, wow, look at this great opportunity that we have. A building was opened there and we went there to see the building, it was in winter and we went to see the building, and again they were giving it to us as gifts. And do you know what my concern was and why I was so afraid that we would enter? I told him, but, Reverend Vergara, how are we going to pay for the heating? If it had been me, I think, I probably wouldn't have taken it, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't have taken this great gift that God gave us for fear that we wouldn't have money to pay for heating.
Thank God Vergara had much more faith than I did at that time. Thank God my faith has grown much more since then. But you notice sometimes how we can be so conservative, so fearful, so timid with the things that God wants to do in our lives. What a terrible waste it would have been if we had missed that opportunity. 15 years we were there, nothing was ever missing. God blessed in ample, generous, abundant ways. Because? Because we took a step of faith in the name of the Lord and the sea parted before us. Let us never allow fear, fear, the conservative.
So many times God tells us, look, give me and we are there as the widow of Sarepta, well, it is the only thing I have and if I give it to you, as he said to the prophet Elijah, then I will not have neither me nor my son, we are going to starve. A whole sea was made. And what did the prophet Elijah tell him? He told him, look, give me first and I promise you that neither you nor your son will miss it at any time, and so it was. She obeyed him and says that all the other houses around were hungry, but that widow's house never lacked wheat or oil, because she gave generously to the Lord.
Many times we are like that. Oh, I'm tired, it's Friday night. There is a vigil in the church but I have been working all week and if I go to the vigil I will be tired on Monday when I go to work and we do a lot of things. When God is powerful to replenish everything you invest, and on Monday you will have more strength than you would have had if you had stayed at home resting, because God is powerful.
One has to learn to move in the power of God, brothers. There is an opportunity to come to church and worship in the middle of the week, and we are thinking, no, tomorrow is Thursday, I have to get up at 5 in the morning, I am going to be tired and we get tired even if we are not because we do a sea of worry
While one moves in the power of God, God renews our strength in flight. If you learned, and I learned to move in the power of the Holy Spirit and less in our strength, in the resources that God gives, God would multiply your wealth, God would bless you, God would use you in great ways.
To the servant who gave him a mina and delivered ten minas to his Lord, the Lord told him, you know what, I am going to change those ten coins into authority over 10 cities for you, you will be governor of 10 cities and the other who surrendered 5, 5 cities.
Look, I'm done with this, we sometimes think that the Kingdom of God is up there, that when we go to heaven they are going to open a big closet with white robes and a harp hanging from each robe white, all the same size and design and that we are going to spend all eternity playing a harp on a cloud singing 18th century hymns in a white coat. For me, that would be hell. I believe that the Kingdom of God is going to be something creative, there are going to be differences, there are going to be rewards at different levels. The one who worked, the one who made an effort, the one who gave hard here, the one who gave the Lord everything he had, will enjoy glory and authority in eternity. I don't know what God has in the future but I know that it is something wonderful, the Kingdom of Heaven is going to be a place of investment, of work that does not wear out or tire like work here, of creativity, action, new sights and new things that we cannot even understand and I am sure that many of what happens in eternity will depend on what we do here on earth. You understand?
And that is why we strive because I believe that if one lives here by faith, giving to the Lord one is investing for the Kingdom of Eternity. And that I am sowing for eternity, and that everything that I gave to the Lord here, everything that I left on this earth, my tithes, my offerings, my work, my sweat, my tears, my blood, my failures Everything, one day the Lord will turn him into glory for all eternity. And that is why we work in faith here, everything that we invest in the Lord God is treasuring it, that is why the Lord Jesus Christ says invest where there is no mold, where there is no corruption, where a thief cannot come and steal your money, invest in the Kingdom of Heaven because there everything is profit. Nothing that you invest in the Kingdom of God on this earth will not have its reward.
The Lord says that even a glass of water that you give someone for having been a servant of the Lord, will not fail to be recognized by God. imagine. Everything you give is seen or not seen by others, God is recording it in his book and will earn interest for all eternity. Give to the Lord, invest in the Lord, live your life with an ethic of service to the Lord, sacrifice to the Lord, investment to the Lord, everything you do, do it in the name and for the glory of the Lord and for the advancement of the God's Kingdom. be a warrior for God here on earth, invest your life, dedicate your life to the Lord, dedicate your gifts to the Lord, live possessed by a vision of giving to the Lord and that your life is worth, that the talent that God put in you receives the maximum performance.
And one day you will be able to hear the approving voice of your heavenly Father, telling you, come, good and faithful servant, you have tired, you have worked, you have bled, you have made mistakes, you have cried, you have stayed up late , in the little you have been faithful, in the much I have to put you. Receive this challenge from the Lord and live for that vision, so that your life is worth it for the Lord, so that your life is a blessing and advancement of the Kingdom of God.
That is what justifies my life, brothers, I am not interested in anything, I think I can say as the Apostle Paul says, I have everything as garbage to see if I know Christ in all his power and in his sufferings. That is the only thing that justifies my life now, I am not interested in glory or money or anything, only that my life is worth for the Kingdom of God, that the gifts that God has placed in me are used further for the Kingdom of God. That is my glory, that is my joy and I hope that you feel the same too. I don't care if you are a worker, a worker, a carpenter, an investor, an engineer, a housewife, a grandmother. Whatever you are, listen to me, God has put something in you and God expects performance.
God does not want you to give him back what he has put in you tucked into a sweaty and dirty handkerchief and tell him, look, Lord I was too tired, I was too loaded, I had too much work, too many children, it was very difficult to study, no one helped me, I was never sure if something was going to come out of what I was going to do or not, and therefore I did not make an effort, the only thing I did was go to church.
How sad. Many will enter the kingdom of heaven ashamed and sad instead of immediately entering with the joy of the Lord and enjoying the full glory of God because they did not give to the Lord, they did not surrender here on earth.
So, brothers, let's make this sermon engrave in our hearts as a challenge for each one of us, that you never forget this challenge from the Lord again. I ask you please, write this in your heart. There are many sermons that one preaches many times but this is a founding sermon, this is a basic sermon that you and I are called to the kingdom... we are saved, God has already put a seal on us, now, brother, you are going to enter now to eternity and to enjoy something that you cannot even imagine and then God says, but while you are here waiting for your call, I want you to make sure that you give me a return, that you invest and that you work as much as possible to advance my Kingdom, because I expect performance from you.
Stand up for a moment and ask the Lord right now to seal that call on your life. We are going to build a church of warriors, we are going to build a church of investors, we are going to build a church of business men and women for the Kingdom of God, people completely convinced and committed to God. Hallelujah!
Father, move your power. Pray and ask the Lord to seal your spirit with this teaching. Receive the touch of God in your life. Father, I loose in the name of Jesus.
Lord, I release the calling, I release the anointing in your people, I release men and women full of the spirit of God.
I release, Lord, your anointing in this body and I ask you to activate your call in our hearts, to raise up men and women who do not back down, who do not back down, who do not take their hand off the plow , men and women who know that the call is serious and long, that in the meantime we have to take one step of faith before the other until we arrive, until we reach the goal.
Man, woman, youth, child, God is calling you, he wants to enlist you in his army, he wants to do great things through you, he has not called failures, he has not called little people , he has called warriors, eagles, birds of prey, men and women of combat, that is what God wants. And God tells you, I will be with you wherever you go, see that I command you to make an effort and be brave. Do not fear or dismay, I will be with you wherever you go, just put my word in your heart, live it, eat it, base yourself on it and no one will be able to defeat you in all the days of your life, they will come out against you by one way and flee by seven ways, says the Lord. In all your battles I will lead you victorious, you will never fail in anything you undertake, because I will support you in everything.
Thank you, Lord. We adore you, we bless you, we exalt you, Lord. we glorify you, thank you, Jesus. Seal this teaching in the hearts of your people this morning, Father, seal it in the name of Jesus. Thank my Lord. Thank you. Give the Lord a big round of applause. Hallelujah! Glory to the name of the Lord.
