The excellence of power

We are going to listen to our brother, Pastor Gilberto Samano, who is present. with us. Gilberto and his wife Carmen, their children attend our church. They have been pastors in California and in various countries in Europe. We have heard him preach and it has been a great blessing to hear the word of God through him. Brothers, we have enjoyed the first part of this service, and I want to thank God for this opportunity and our pastor and all the senior pastors of this church for this opportunity that you give me to be able to shout the holy word of God.

And brothers, we have rejoiced... How many have enjoyed feeling the presence of God? I believe that it is something very important to be able to feel his presence and brothers, we have enjoyed feeling his presence and I believe that the Lord still wants to bless us.

I want, brothers, this morning to follow the thread that we have been listening to the beautiful preaching and teachings in these last months of our pastor and the different pastors, about the Spirit Holy. And I would like to join in that same feeling on behalf of God, talk a little about this topic of the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives, in our church, in our activities.

And I believe, brothers We are seeing him, we are experiencing him and we are feeling his presence in us more and more every day. I want to emphasize, or emphasize emphatically, that it is very important to understand what the Holy Spirit is in our lives.

How many say amen to this?

However, I think that with all due respect, I say this, since the Lord has allowed us to travel a bit and we have I have seen that sometimes the Holy Spirit, the movement, the gifts are not appreciated and I would like, brothers, to congratulate our pastor because I know how to do it. What God has placed on your heart very effectively, you've been developing a very, very important theme.

And this morning I'd like to read two Scriptures to set the stage. I invite you to open your heart along with your Bible or if you can show us Acts 1:8, it will be helpful. the first Scripture. “... but we have this treasure in clay vessels....”

All say, the excellence of power.

&ldquo ;... be of God and not of us who are troubled in everything but not anguished, in trouble but not desperate; persecuted but not helpless; knocked down but not destroyed...”

For the great glory of the Lord I would like to speak on the subject, the excellence of power. Say it with me, the excellence of power.

I see that the Apostle Saint Paul uses this word to emphasize the greatness, the beauty of the power of the Holy Spirit. And he tries to do it in such an effective way so that we can understand that it is something excellent, it is something wonderful, it is something beautiful, to be able to feel the power of the Holy Spirit, brothers.

Not being able to explain many things that the Holy Spirit does, cannot be explained with human wisdom. Sometimes the Lord does things that we could neither write nor explain, but when God does them he has a divine and perfect purpose in his will. Somebody say, glory to God.

And brothers, the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit is something very important. I think many people like to talk about the Holy Spirit, many people like to see the Holy Spirit but very few have really opened the door of their hearts to be filled with the Holy Spirit or baptized. With the Holy Spirit.

And sometimes, brothers, something is missing in the life of a believer when everything is wrong. Well, but it is that he still has not been able to reach what is the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit. He sings well, he knows many things, he knows homeletics, hermeneutics, theology, classology, eschatology, he knows many things. He knows how to raise his hands, he knows all the routine, but something is still missing in his life. A problem arrives, winds arrive, situations arrive and sometimes that Christian looks for something and cannot find it. It is that he lacks to know the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the Bible we have types and figures that represent the Holy Spirit as the dove, as the oil, as the wine, as the wind, like fire, like rivers of living water. He who believes in me, as the Scriptures say, from within him will flow rivers of living water.

I don't know what the truth is. How many know the rivers of living water, here they are. You don't see many rivers anymore, but an active river, a living river, is beginning to flow. It's moving, it's not moving. It is stagnant but moves in force, the excellence of power, is something that each activity, brothers, we can feel the presence of God.

How many say love to this? It doesn't matter what's going on. What are you doing, you can be in the car, you can be at home, you can be at work, you can be in many places and there you are. You can feel the power of the Holy Ghost. However, many people, brothers, as I say, forget to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to seek more and more of this excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit.

¿ Why? What do I need the Holy Spirit? Ask yourself that question. Why? What did the pastor emphasize, he does it almost in every meeting, let's be filled, let's search, let's be baptized, why are we? it is necessary? And they talk, and they talk, and they talk about the Holy Spirit, why? What do I need, brethren, to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

Let's just touch on a few points quickly. The first is that it is found in John 3, Chapter 3, verse 3 to 5, a well-known Scripture where he said:

“ Jesus and said to him, "Truly, truly I tell you, he who is not born again cannot see the Kingdom of God, and then he says, and Nicodemus asks him, "How can a man be born again?" being old? Since perhaps it will enter the He was born a second time in his mother's womb and was born....”

“...And then he answered: Jesus and said to him, ‘Truly, truly, I tell you, anyone who is not born of water and spirit cannot enter the Kingdom of God...”

Two things, First, see the Kingdom and there you will see. Many believers stay, see the Kingdom, but do not enter the Kingdom because they have not experienced the excellence of the power of God, or they have not opened the door of their hearts to be able to feel what the power of the Holy Spirit is. .

And, brothers, I don't know what to do. How many of you eat just looking at the food? I remember, I think the pastor remembers, there he was. in France there are many pastries, little cakes, bakeries where there are sweets. and I looked at them, but I didn't taste them, I just looked at them and my wife got angry because I told her, I can't resist, I have to go in and try it.

Looks too good! They looked great and I would walk in and then yes. you could taste what it was you were seeing. like this It is the Kingdom of God, there are many Christians who come to church, and from outside, from far away, they are seeing the Holy Spirit but they have not yet entered that dimension of feeling what the Holy Spirit is. Holy Spirit in their lives, and sometimes the enemy arrives, winds arrive, problems arrive, and that Christian does not know what to do. What to do because you haven't entered the Kingdom of God yet to feel the Holy Spirit.

Someone say glory to God or amen. And tell me if you are understanding me, brothers, because I think in many languages and I have to translate into Spanish and my Spanish is not very correct. If it comes out in Italian, English or something else, excuse me, but I want you to understand me brothers, the word of God is clear.

Number two, we need the Holy Spirit to have the fruit of the spirit. Galatians 5:21 says, “...but the fruit of the spirit is love....”

Everyone say love. Love, in Italian.

“...joy.... – everyone say joy, - patience, dignity, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such things there is no law...”

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is needed but we need the spirit in What we need in our lives is for that fruit to develop in our lives.

How many want more of the fruit of the spirit in their lives? How many need more of the spirit?

and then number three, brethren, Galatians 5:16 says:

“...for you walk in the spirit and you do not satisfy the desires of the flesh...”

Number three, why bother? I need the Holy Spirit, to walk in the spirit. what? it means this? Some think that it is a dimension where they float in the air and sometimes brothers, we do not understand, we try with the human mind to understand this. What? What does it mean to walk or walk in the spirit?

But, brothers, here it is. the Apostle Saint Paul is here. He is speaking of a dimension so profound that the son of God can truly understand, that when he is He is filled with the Holy Spirit, no matter what happens in his life, he has faith based on the word of God, he knows that his redeemer lives, he knows that Jehovah will help him. He is your shepherd and that you will lack nothing. He knows that Jehovah is there. he is a healer, he knows that God is not going to leave him in the valley, in the shadow, no matter what happens, that Christian walks, walks because he is there. It is founded on the word of God and is walking according to the spirit.

It comes to my mind, brothers, when I was a missionary over there. in Italy, it was my turn I will see in the south of Italy many shepherds who took care of sheep because there they were. Pecorino fromaggio is widely sold, lamb cheese and there were pens, there were places where there were many sheep. And, brothers, in my life I did not know much about this type of life, but it came to life. It came to my mind, brothers, when on one occasion visiting a ranch, we Mexicans say, there were many sheep, and brothers, I looked at the sheep. I learned that the shepherd was very busy that morning, taking out each sheep and doing something very important and he told me, I went and greeted him, we started talking, and he said, do you know what I'm doing today? He had about a hundred or more sheep and he says, I have to anoint each one of the sheep with oil. And brothers, came the That psalm came to my mind, you anointed my head with oil.

And I asked him, why did you say that? do you have to anoint them? And he says, it's that summer is coming and he anointed them with pure, virgin, green olive oil. And he says, I have to anoint them because there are diseases, there are plagues that attack the sheep and the sheep cannot resist certain plagues, but with oil, when their head, and I was bathing them, ears, eyes, mouth and everything with oil. He says, but when I anoint them with oil, the mosquitoes, the plagues, he says there is a very serious plague that destroys many sheep, it is that there is a mosquito that enters through the nose and lays its eggs and a worm hatches and kills the sheep for means of destroying his mind, his brain.

And it arrived. to my mind, brethren, what a It is important to understand that sometimes the Scriptures, that's why the psalmist, I think he knew this, that when he wrote that Psalm 23 said, you anointed my head with oil for protection, the Holy Spirit protects us from the snares of the enemy. The Holy Spirit protects us from plagues, from diseases that the devil wants to use to destroy our lives, but thank God that there is power in the name of Jesus to resist all that comes against us.

Turn to your brother and say, you have to walk in the spirit.

And then, brethren, number 4 says, "....to be led into all truth and all righteousness," John 16:13 says, "...but when he comes the spirit of truth will guide you to all truth because he will not speak He will guide you..."

How many do you sometimes need, brothers, What guide in your life? Raise your hand those who need guidance. We don't know where to go, what to do. What are we going to do? It will happen to me and sometimes when one understands the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit, he is led by the spirit. You who are here I am here, a friend who is visiting us this morning, it is not by chance, it is that God wants to deal with your life, God is a good God, he is a God of love, that he wants to help humanity , he wants to heal the sick, he wants to lift up the one who is suffering. fallen, he wants to help the poor.

We need, brothers, to be led by the spirit.

Number 5 says, to have power, strength and I want to stay a few minutes on this, brothers. Power, going back to the verse I read, “...but you shall receive power...”

Everybody say power. Why? What did the Apostles need power? They had already been with Jesus for three and a half years, they had seen miracles, they had heard teachings, they knew about the kingdom, they knew all the promises. The Lord had instructed them, but the Lord told them, go to Jerusalem and wait there for the rest of the world. until they are baptized and receive power. They say, for what? What for? did they need that power?

And then some say to be witnesses, but no, they say, you will be witnesses because of receiving this power. In Matthew 3:11 he tells us:

“...and truly, he says, I baptize you with water for repentance, but he that comes after me, whose shoes I am not worthy of He is more powerful than I....", speaks John the Baptist. And then he says “…. with Holy Spirit and fire”

Someone say fire. Say it louder, say fire. How many have been burned by fire? How many have burned a finger, a hand? I have not seen any person who when he feels the fire stays very calm and quiet, it is abnormal if he does not move, or does not have feelings, but normally when someone burns, what happens? does, brothers? Shout, aaaaaaah or others say other things that should not be said.

But it is true that when you feel the fire there is a reaction and that reaction, brothers, sometimes we do not understand it. There are people who scream, others cry, others grab their fingers, others apply home remedies, ice, eggs, flour, and other remedies, but fire is something that in this representation of the Holy Spirit It's a powerful thing, brothers, fire is an explosion.

That Greek word tunamis, which means power, power for what? The Lord knew that his children, his disciples, we were going to need power to make decisions, power to pray, power to offer, power to raise our hands, power to serve God, power is needed to power, brothers, feel the presence of God, to resist the devil you need power.

So, this power, the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit is something that we need, brothers, to look for in our lives in order to be victorious. And it says Psalm 84, it says, “...blessed is the man who has his strength in you, in whose heart is yours. Its paths traversing the valley of tears which changes it into a source like the rain that fills the ponds....”

Blessed is the man who has his strength in you. Everyone say strength. How many have run out of strength? Let's see, raise your hands. I believe that we have all gone through that valley at times that there are some who say, it is not too early to go to church. Others lack the strength to, brothers, praise God. The enemy is so cunning that he takes away our strength, he steals our strength, strength is needed to believe, to open the word of God sometimes, to listen to the word and there are so many distractions, there are so many things that sometimes rob us of those It is the strength that God wants to give us.

But this morning I would like all of us to understand that the excellence of the power of the Holy Spirit is so great that God through His Holy Spirit wants to help each of us to be more than conquerors. Not just winners but more than winners.

Let's see say, more than winners. No, just a winner, not just one who raises his hands, not just one who says I feel God or sees others and says, ‘how beautiful that brother praises God, how beautiful he is. what a beautiful song nice that speaks in language. what nice God uses it’ and only from the outside is it. seeing. Oh no brothers, it's time to step into the power of the Holy Spirit and feel that power in our lives.

Oh it's a beautiful thing when you feel the power of the Holy Spirit because you realize it. one, as the Apostle Saint Paul said, that we are mud, we do not deserve this. The angels look at us with envy, that being celestial beings they do. they are before the presence of God, but we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Turn around brothers and tell him, I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. Wake him up if he is awake. asleep.

I want to end by saying something very important. In Isaiah 40:31 it says, “...but those who hope in the LORD they will have new strength...”

Some need new strength to say it. How many did not have breakfast? Let's see say it, new strength. No, you can't hear it. I'm deaf or I can't hear you, brothers. Say it again, new strength, new strength, will have new strength. How many are waiting for the Lord, brothers? How many know that these promises of God will have new strength?

It doesn't matter what is happening. Whatever is happening in your life, they will have new strength. They will have new strength. They will have new strength. The power of the Holy Spirit, brothers.

But we have to receive that force, not just see it. Not just say how beautiful it feels, how beautiful it is. pretty. There are people who have said to me, brother, why do you want to do it? do you get excited? And some say and it moves a lot. Right now I'm limited to ..... scare anybody. And it is that I have told them, over there. I was in Lucca, Italy, preaching in a very large auditorium and spent a lot of time. an old Italian lady, Italians are very expressive, very article. How many know that God raises up, brothers? How many know that God heals us, brothers? How many know that there is power in the name of Jesus?

And then, brothers, I want to end as I say by saying, that there is a need for the joy of the Lord. How many need joy this morning? Brothers, life is here. full of troubles How many have problems? Let's see, brothers, I thought that I was the only one who had problems. I thought the problems were in California. You have problems with the weather, this cold is killing you. tremendous. Perpetual joy. It is a joy that does not end. Everyone say, a joy that does not end. Will it be? Is it possible to be happy always, brothers? Will it be? Is it really possible to be happy? Truth, that singing comes beautiful with a smile, that joy. what That song is beautiful when everything is going well. but i got there I went to the hospital and they gave me the bad news, Mr. Samánolo, there were complications, your daughter was born in the hospital. but she has a very serious problem, we gave her a Marisela Ruth girl, a white girl, that's how she was. beautiful like me, blue eyes, my grandfather was Spanish and God blessed us with his blue eyes. I am very happy, proud and the doctor told me, grab your girl because she is sick. very serious.

I remember she weighed 8 pounds, very healthy, very strong. I grabbed her, looked at her. and brothers, died in my arms. Hello! like this what happened to me like you I landed. And all of a sudden I said, what's the matter? what happened? And then came the the devil and he said to me, where is the devil? your God? And then he convinced me, you're studying for the ministry and you just lost your daughter? And brothers, there I asked myself when I handed him my letter. My daughter went to the doctor, she said, nothing can be done, she's already lost her hair. his breath.

Brothers, there you go. started the devil to attack me hard. And the first thing the devil said to me was, "Buy yourself a bottle of tequila," like a good Hispanic. Don't laugh, in Puerto Rico they use rum, rum, rum, grappa, other things, but us Mexicans like tequila with a worm inside.

But I told him, no , no, no, I believe that God is here. with me and I started a tremendous reflection, a fight, a war. How many know what I'm talking about? That war, where your mind and your heart tell you to do the opposite of what the Bible says. Suddenly, brothers, the Lord gave me new strength.

Everybody say, new forces. And it took me I said to that great patriarch Job, he lost his life. Not only her children, but not one, but all of her children and I began to grow. to grab a little strength but with a lot of fear, brothers, and trembling. He was shaking and crying, and he was even mad at God.

How many are mad at God? Be honest. Raise your hand all those who have been angry at least once in their life with God. Since we are liars, some have not raised their hands. But yes. we got mad.

I got mad at him. and I ran, brothers, you know what? I searched for a chapel there I was in the hospital, I went out, I looked for a place. a chapel. I remember that I arrived in Coliba with the chany as they say here, and everything covered. I ran I went to a chapel and began to study. to talk with God.

How many know about that? Not to pray, because sometimes we use very long prayers, but to talk, my God. How many know what I'm talking about? That intimate prayer where one needs a cloth, is becoming too much for him. Tears come out and other things, but he doesn't care because you're there. talking with God. How many know what I'm talking about? And I started He was going to say, ‘Lord, what did you do? what happened? And like the devil, he tells you, he's killing you. punishing God. Sometimes when we go through something the first thing the devil says to you is, he's waiting for you. I'm punishing God but that's not what God does.

I remember getting down on my knees. and I said, Lord, I don't know what to do. is it? happening, I just lost my daughter. I don't know Why, Lord, but I have to learn something. Help me. And there talking with God alone, because intimacy with God must be alone. There were no longer the masses, there were no longer the temples, there were no longer the lights, the microphones, it was just me and God. You and God. You and God.

Raise your hand if you know what I'm talking about. there in his intimate place. And I told him, Lord, I don't know what. what is it? It's happening, but help me. And with my tears in my mouth, I began to walk. to say, glory to God. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for taking my daughter from me. Something not logical.

And there was a man there, a doctor, he came up to me. and he told me, you need medicine. You’re crazy. You are going to thank God because he took away your life. your daughter. You are not well, you are in mourning. No, I tell him, I'm talking to God. and he looked at me, moved his head. I shook my head and came out. in a hurry. After a while some nurses arrived, they wanted to give me an injection to calm my nerves and some pills and that this... no, I told them, no, I want to talk to God. Give me a few moments. And there in that chapel me and God, there was no church, there were no friends, there were no pastors, there was no one, but there I was. there was the power of God. I felt I looked at the presence of God and then I said, Lord, why? Why? And the moments passed and the Lord began to care for me. to speak to my heart. He told me, ‘Do you want to be used by God? How can you comfort if you don't know what pain is? How are you going to be able to help someone if you have never been through what they lose?
