Adopt a supernatural mindset

Summary: The Christian life is meant to be lived on a supernatural plane, using the power of God within us. The Apostle Paul lists 9 gifts of the spirit in 1 Corinthians 12, but there are many more gifts that can be used in the church, including counseling, leadership, finance, and science. To access these gifts, we must have a supernatural mentality and dedicate our talents to God. Daniel is an example of someone who had a passion for God and did not compromise his faith, even when it came to his diet. We must consecrate ourselves to the Lord and honor Him with our dedication in order to fully manifest His gifts in our lives.

The story of Daniel and his friends in Babylon teaches us about the power of faith and dedication to God. Daniel and his friends refused to eat the king's food and instead ate only vegetables and water, but they made a deal to only do so for a number of days and if they were not healthy at the end, they would stop. Because of their faith in God, they believed that what they ate would do them more good than anything else. This is the same principle behind the tithe and living in faith - everything we do with God is multiplied and rendered more powerful.

Daniel's faith and dedication to God paid off as he was given knowledge and intelligence in all areas and was found to be ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers in the kingdom. This is because when God gives, he gives with a vengeance and his gifts have a depth and intensity that cannot be matched by anything else.

We should strive to live our lives at the same level of dedication and faith as Daniel did, always offering our gifts and life to the Lord and trusting in him to bless us and enrich our lives. When we live our lives this way, we allow the spirit of God to flow through us with its nutrients and make everything we do more powerful and impactful. We should dedicate our gifts to the Lord and use them to bring glory to him in every aspect of our lives.

As you know we have been meditating on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and we have been basing ourselves on the Epistle to the Corinthians, on the first epistle in Chapter 12 and we have been taking a tour and the general context is the context of life full of the Holy Spirit, the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church, and how we are called as children of God, servants of the Lord to move in the gifts of the spirit, to live the Christian life in the supernatural plane.

But, again many Christians enter the Gospel and receive the Lord Jesus, we begin to attend church, we even take Sunday school classes and many other things, but we never wake up to the understanding the fact that the Christian life has to be life on a plane different from the natural plane, that we are eternal beings, that we carry within us the very presence of God and that this presence of God, that presence of the Holy Spirit that moves within us is the life of God with all its power and all its potentiality and all its ability to address any situation that life may present us, any challenge and that we, as children of God, are called to become aware of that fact, that we have to live life using the energy that God has put within us. The Christian life is a life of power.

Paul says in one of his passages that he is not ashamed of the Gospel, why? Because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. And the Apostle Paul had a great intention throughout his ministry that his listeners, his churches that he planted, the people that he was ministering to and discipling through the years would make use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and adopt a supernatural mindset.

I like to talk about a supernatural mentality, in English one would say, 'a supernatural outlook', a supernatural life posture. That means that we understand, as the writer in the Old Testament also says the prophet, I think it is Jeremiah, he says that it is not with a sword, it is not with an army, but with what? with my spirit, says the Lord.

In other words, the Christian life, the problems of life, the issues, the challenges of life are not confronted with merely natural energies, not even confronted with a merely religious attitude, but are confront from a supernatural stance.

In other words, that we are endowed with the power of God, that this power of God moves within us and that we can turn to him, to make use of that power when we find ourselves in any situation of life. And that's important for us to understand when we talk in the context of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

You will remember the passage we are discussing, but I am going to change it a bit because today's context, while I was listening to the musicians, led me in another direction, I think to do justice to what we have discussed. witnessed and participated. But do remember that the Apostle Paul talks about different gifts. He says:

“... but to each one is given the manifestation of the spirit for the benefit, because to this one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge according to the same spirit, to another faith by the same spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the same spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another divers kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues, but all these things he makes one and the same spirit distributing to each one in particular as he wants....”

When the Apostle Paul speaks here of 9 gifts, he is not being exhaustive in the list he provides. He is simply giving examples of the different gifts that can be moved in the life of the church. And as you will remember, I have even said on occasions that the gifts of counseling move in the church. At this time in history humanity needs supernaturally gifted people in the area of counseling. God needs teachers, God needs people who have an attitude of service and those gifts are also recorded by the Apostle in the epistle to the _Romans in Chapter 12. God needs people with leadership gifts, financial gifts, planning gifts and strategic thinking I would even say gifts for politics and for everything that has to do with government. Our countries need wise Christians for the development of our societies.

The Gospel is, for example, in Africa running in an extraordinary way. Many people are converting to the Lord, but I believe that there are still a lack of believers endowed with a special endowment that allows these men and women involved to enter government areas, in areas of development, government planning, and the economy. , people with, I would say, with the gift of science, for example, the gift of knowledge specifically, endowed with a structural mind that can think in terms of development, that can think in organized ways to develop societies.

I believe that the church needs at this time people with the gift of organization, of thinking organizationally because the challenges that the church has in the 21st century are challenges to organize itself, challenges to address a society that is tremendously developed, rationally, intellectually, governmentally, structurally and the world out there has been able to develop in an extraordinary way and God does not want his church to be backward, quite the contrary, I believe that God gives his children power and authority and the endowment of power, which allows you to do things at a level much higher than what the world can do.

How many say love to that? As I was watching these young people here developing their gifts, I was like, wow, the quality of this music is no less than what you see back in the secular world. And certainly our brother Adlan exemplifies that in an extraordinary way, because God gives gifts, brothers to his church.

What happens is that the church of Jesus Christ often languishes in its ability to believe God and to open up like a sponge to receive the gifts of the spirit. I believe that if there were more dreamers and visionaries in the church, they would believe in God and start yearning.

The word says to yearn for the best gifts, right? that we desire the best gifts. I think the problem with the church is that there aren't enough people who yearn for God's gifts. Sure, sometimes we desire the gifts in such a general way, oh, I would like to be a teacher, or I would like to be this, but there are very few people who agonize before God and pay the price of seeking God's supernatural endowment so that God fill them with a supernatural power, and that they can move in the supernatural plane.

If we did it more, if from childhood, if from a young age we began to acclaim the Lord, if we dedicated our talents to the Lord, our loaves and fish to the Lord, and we said, "Father, I have here something and it is like a germ, it is merely an embryo but I bring it to you and I dedicate it to you. Shower me with your light, shower me with your endowment of power. I open myself to the manifestation of your spirit in my life. I am to move in your power and I dedicate this to you and I will serve you here and use it for your glory and I will not let anything contaminate my gift and I will do everything possible to develop it and I will nurture it and I will add wood as you add wood to a fire and the more wood I add to it, the bigger and more powerful, and more encompassing, and more scorching will be my gift. And I will always do it to give you the glory."

When one begins to live that way, brother, God begins to do mighty things in the life of the church. I believe that God has gifts here that you don't even know you have yet. God has here capacities and endowments of power that many of you have there simply as a baby that you do not know is inside you, an embryo, and that if you start looking for the Lord and if you understand that the Christian life is a life that moves in the supernatural plane, God can do what he wants with any of you.

He took David out of anonymity, from among the flock over there, taking care of sheep, a boy who apparently had nothing supernatural to recommend him, nothing extraordinary, but the Lord saw his heart and took him out and he gave him gifts of government, gifts of prophecy, musical gifts, gifts of design and instruments, literary gifts. He wrote many of the psalms, because David believed God and because he moved in the supernatural plane.

I think that's important, I thought at this moment while listening to the brothers here play, I thought of Daniel. So that you can see how, I am not going to go into the third gift to talk about in First Corinthians today, which is the gift of faith, but I want you to see Daniel's gift as Daniel dedicating his life to the Lord, God endowed with a special ability that could be used in an extraordinary way.

There in the first Chapter of the book of Daniel we see Daniel transported to Babylon, a young man, we don't know how old he was, maybe he was 19, 20 years old and the king of Babylon, very wise, very shrewd, takes these captives and choose from them..... He knew that the Jewish people had been endowed with a special capacity, they were an outstanding people and the king of Babylon very shrewdly wanted to choose from among those captives, some of the most accomplished, of the most promising and train them in his academy for the leadership of his country. And he decided to put them in special places.

Today, the church needs in the same way to recognize which are the latent talents that exist in the midst of the people and we have to ask the Lord to give us discernment to be able to enter into the depths of the people and before their gifts are manifested, because if we do not recognize them previously they will not manifest. We have to ask the Lord, 'Lord, help us to discover where the special endowments are, where are those young people that you can use in the future to do great things in the midst of your church, where are the people that you can use to respond to the challenges of the XXI century.'.

The king of Babylon chooses a number of young men and among them are Daniel and several of his closest friends. And the word says here in verse 8 of Daniel 1, ".... that Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the portion of the king's food nor with the wine that he drank, and therefore asked the chief of the eunuchs that he was not forced to defile himself....”

The first thing we see here is that Daniel has a passion for God, Daniel is a young man who takes his faith seriously. Daniel has a very clear idea of the reality of God in his life. And if you want the gift of God to manifest itself with power in your life and for God to do great things in your life, you have to be passionate towards God, you have to, above all, be very zealous for the glory of God. You have to know that God does not share his love with anyone, that God is very jealous, when he gives a gift and when he chooses a glass, he wants that glass to be used for his glory and honor.

And Daniel knew that that food that was served in the king's halls was a food that had previously been consecrated to idols and Daniel in his conscience did not feel comfortable eating that food, because he felt that his life was contaminated with the king's food.

And I believe that there are many men and women that God would like to use in the church today in extraordinary ways, but since we are very lax and do not have that supernatural sense of the presence of God, of a God jealous, a fastidious God in his dealings with us, the gift of God is diluted, the gift of God is numb. You can't manifest with all the power you want.

But, when we consecrate our lives to the Lord, and I believe that God is speaking to our church, that we have to consecrate ourselves to the Lord at this time. God wants to use our congregation even more to bless the nations. God wants to develop the gifts of our youth and our adults, but he needs us to understand that we have to be a people set apart for God, we have to honor the Lord in an extraordinary way with our consecration to him.

Daniel proposed not to contaminate himself with the king's food, nor with the wine that was drunk in the king's hall and he asks the leader of these young people, who has been assigned to watch over them, for their health , his education, his well-being, asks him not to make him eat that food, but simply to allow him to eat legumes, a purely vegetarian meal. And the chief of the eunuchs is afraid because if these young people look emaciated after a while, he will suffer the consequences because they will think that he is not taking good care of them.

But Daniel insists and says, look, let's make the deal for a number of days, if at the end of that number of days we don't look healthy, well, then, that's fine, but if we're fine , then let us continue. And they make the deal that way.

Daniel was a man of faith. Daniel, again, that is what... moving in the supernatural plane means, brothers, that you know that the sum of the things in God, the sum total, is greater than the number of the elements that compose it.

In other words, if you put effort into the human to do something, to achieve something you receive a certain amount of result. The child of God knows that in the spirit of God the same amount of effort produces even greater results, because the spirit of God renders things.

That is what is behind the tithe, what is behind living in faith, everything is the idea that with God everything you do is doubled, is multiplied, is rendered a hundred and sixty and a thousand for one. So, Daniel knew that if God was with him, what he ate would do him much more good, and he would be blessed because he was doing it in the Lord. And that is the gift of faith.

And that is what we have to tend to when we, for example, young people when they are in school, if one believed, I believe that according to the measure of faith that one has, and one says, 'Lord, I know that I am going to enter into these studies not with my energy alone, not with my intelligence, but it is in the power of the Holy Spirit.'

And if you are encouraged with faith, and you put your part and you make an effort and study and do your part, and you trust in the Lord, you dedicate your intellect to the Lord and you persist and you believe that God is giving you wisdom to succeed, you are going to discover that there is some nutrients that are going to enter your life that are going to allow you to do a much better job than if you did it only in meat. The problem for many of us is that, that we undertake the tasks of life in our jobs, our businesses, our marriages, life situations with a pusillanimous attitude, I would say, we simply do not have enough awareness of what I am doing, I am doing it in the name of the Lord and with the power of the Holy Spirit behind me.

Remember the story of Peter when the Lord says to him, 'Peter, cast your net for a fish,' and Peter tells him, 'Lord, all night we were fishing in the right places and we didn't catch a single one. fish'. But what happened, the difference was that now Peter was casting the net in the name of the Lord. And when Peter casts the net in the name of the Lord, what happens? The net is filled with fish.

When you undertake your life, when you undertake any task in your life, undertake it in the name of the Lord, undertake it in the power of the Holy Spirit, say in the name of Jesus, I am going to throw myself into This is in the power of God, and I believe that God is going to bless me, God is going to open steps for me.

Since I was a child I have always had that faith that God was going to bless my studies and that God was going to help me out at all times. And in all my studies always, although many times I did not live exactly as God wanted me to live, but God gave me faith to believe that he could bless me intellectually and always for the glory of the Lord manifested in my life, for his glory, he always helped me out, he always allowed me to be blessed in my studies. And since I was a child I have believed that God endows his children with a special gift. God has given each one of us an aptitude that if we move in the power of the Holy Spirit and with a faith, a belief that what I have is not mine, but it is God's and if it is God's it has to be absolutely excellent. And if we move in that attitude, that attracts the gift and power of God into our life.

So, we see here that Daniel tells him, I'm going to do things in the spirit and I'm going to pay the price and I'm going to take risks. And what was the result? It says in verse 17, let's go to 15 first because there was an immediate result, it says that:

“....at the end of ten days their faces seemed better and more robust than that of the other boys who ate from the king's portion of the food....”

Because Daniel believed God, he was willing to pay the price, took risks, testified publicly of his faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God honored him, God blessed him.

Brothers, we as children of God have to live our lives that way. When we live our life continually offering it to the Lord, offering our gifts, our life to the Lord, God begins to enrich us, God begins to bless us. It's like you're continuously taking vitamins and a sediment of God's power is being established in your life, and what you do has more traction, has more drag. You don't understand how, but your interventions, your conversation, your contributions to your work, your human relationships, the challenges you face, your family life, your emotional life, all these things begin to be enriched and you don't know where. comes.

Do you know where it came from? It comes from that secret pipe that has been connected to your life through which the water of the spirit runs with its nutrients, it is refreshing water that strengthens you..... Try to always live your life at that level in which Daniel lived it, at a level of surrender to the Lord, at a level of challenging the world if necessary because Daniel challenged the Babylonian system. But you know that militantly you are a child of God, feel proud to belong to the Kingdom of God, feel that you belong to a special lineage in the Kingdom of God.

God gave the Hebrew people, and has still given them, a special endowment, because where God's blessing is there is wealth of all talents. How a people as tiny as the Jewish people have had an impact on human culture far, far, far beyond their numbers statistically. In addition, a people that has always had to exercise their gifts at a disadvantage, persecuted, discriminated against, sometimes murdered in massive ways and yet that people everywhere, many of the great scientists of humanity, of the great musicians and writers, many of the great economists and bankers come from the Jewish people.

Secular man has failed to understand this and has always tried to explain it in terms of a Jewish plot to take over the world and sinister dramas on the part of the Jews. But what they have is simply the blessing of God, that despite being unbelievers, even so the pact that God made with Abraham, his father, still follows it, the blessing of God follows it, and that is why they prosper wherever what are they going

Guess what? You, I, belong to the new Israel, we belong to the church of Jesus Christ and if the first pact was a pact of excellence, how much more the second pact, the new pact in Christ Jesus. If the blood of those goats and those animals could provide the Hebrews with such an extraordinary blessing throughout history, how much more can the blood of Jesus that runs spiritually in our lives make sure that we are a people of excellence and of greatness.

Brothers, if we are not, it is because of our bad head, not because God has shortened his arm, or weakened his hand. God has in you all the nutrients to make a community of excellence. I am convinced of that. And if we remain in the life of God and their families remain in the ways of the Lord, their children will be greatly blessed, our youth will be successful youth, our family, our finances, our health, our emotions will to be blessed because God gives his gifts to his people and over the years one sees the upward curve of God's people.

And finally it says that God gave Daniel, it says that to these 4 boys, God gave them knowledge and intelligence in all letters and sciences and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

And in verse 20 it says that: "...in all matters of wisdom and intelligence that the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his kingdom. ..”

There you have the gift of knowledge and the gift of wisdom expressed. You see Daniel paid the price, Daniel dared to believe God. Daniel could have been a successful young man, he could have gotten his MBA, his MBA, and had a pretty good job in the Babylonian administration, but because he consecrated his life to the Lord and his gift to God, God said to him, ' did you know? I'm going to give you more, I'm going to give you intelligence and professional skills like I'm not going to give to any of the others. And I'm not only going to give you the ñapa, I'm going to give you wisdom in dreams, visions, revelations..."

Because when God gives, brothers, God gives with a vengeance. That is the difference. The word says that the natural man can only function in the natural plane, but the spiritual man can function in the spiritual plane and in the natural plane. That is the difference. When the gift of God is in you, the gift of God has a depth, an intensity, a capacity to reach much greater than when the gift simply moves on the purely natural plane. That is the difference.

So in your life you want to dedicate your gift to the Lord. If you are a musician, you tell him, 'Lord, my music is for you, for your glory, for your honor, so that when I play for people, beyond the superficial notes that they can hear, there is a spiritual content between the notes that penetrates. the soul, penetrate the heart, arouse in people the desire to seek you, spiritual restlessness.'

That is, when David played the fiery and demonized heart of Saul, he was calm, the demons were subject to the music that It came out of David's hands. When the son of God advises there is an implicit presence of God in his word that reaches the hearts of the people, people do not know why but they receive peace and receive healing.

When you counsel, do not counsel in mere human wisdom, but ask the Lord, 'Father, may my words be as projectiles aimed at the spirit of this person, that I may discern the secrets of his heart and speak even to the things that they have not manifested and that they do not even know are hidden in their soul.'

And when you work in anything, administration or counseling in the world of social service, ask the Lord, may I use you at that deep level and may your interventions have the power to open the sea and to bring solutions that others cannot think of on a merely supernatural level. That is the level of using the gift of God. Amen.

So we are going to stand up this afternoon, we are going to ask the Lord to unleash in us that supernatural consciousness, that supernatural posture and that we dedicate our gifts to the Lord, our lives to the Lord, that everything what we live, we live in the supernatural plane and that we ask God to give us wisdom to discern things in the spirit.

If you have a need in your life, if there is a problem, a situation that is challenging you in your life, we are going to ask the Lord to unleash his gift within you to respond to that specific need that there is in your life, that gives you wisdom, that gives you knowledge to go to the root of things. And we are going to live believing that God has something for my life, God has a gift that he has given me and he wants me to use it for his glory.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask you to give us that ability to believe that Daniel had, that ability to take risks, that faith that was in him that allowed him to venture into your hands and believe that your you were powerful to supernaturally feed him and to give him supernatural energy and wisdom.

So we ask, Lord, that in the affairs of life, in the challenges of life, in the things that we want to do and achieve in this world, that your energy, your power be moving, Lord , and may your gifts be multiplied in us, Father, we want to be a people of power, we want to be a people with a supernatural mind, a mind that moves in the dimension of the spirit, of the eternal, of the supernatural, Lord.

Take off the veil, take off the veil of daily life that covers us and make us people passionate about things of the spirit, Lord, that we move with the armor of the spirit placed on us, with that posture, Lord, of vigilance, always looking where your glory will come from in our life.

Thank you for today, thank you for everything we have heard, lived, witnessed, participated in, and we consecrate everything to you, Lord, and to you exclusively we give glory and honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen.

I bless you my brothers in the name of Christ. May the grace and peace of the Lord be with each of you.
