power to evangelize

Summary: In this sermon, the speaker emphasizes the importance of being filled with the Holy Spirit and the radical commitment it requires. He notes that those who are filled with the Holy Spirit are loyal to the Kingdom of God above all other human allegiances and that their spiritual family is more important than their biological family. He also discusses the importance of a church filled with the Holy Spirit, which can cause a commotion in society and exert influence over the government, economy, arts, media, and academic world. He gives examples of how institutions like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton were founded by committed Christians to train men for Christian service and promote the values of the Bible, but have become corrupted and secularized over time. The speaker believes that when a community is filled with the Holy Spirit and founded on the word of God, there is prosperity, blessing, and influence.

The church gains influence and power when it is filled with the Holy Spirit and lives according to the values of the Gospel. Families that have come to León de Judá have prospered and become successful. The devil cannot take away from the church what God gives it. When God's anointing is on your life, even the devil's curses are turned into a blessing. We must make sure our homes are places where the presence of the Lord can rest. The church must gain its authority and be a righteous, upright, and anointed church to speak with authority to leaders who are not working for the community. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the persecution of the first Apostles were not because they wanted to do it, but because it was God's will. We must ask the Lord for boldness to speak His word and for signs and wonders to be done in our midst.

The speaker urges the audience to ask God for signs and wonders in their midst, and to continually ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit. He shares personal experiences of divine appointments and encourages listeners to share their faith with others, even if they feel inadequate or afraid. The speaker emphasizes that the power of God is within each individual and urges them to use it by faith to influence their community and do the work of the Holy Spirit.

The speaker encourages the audience to believe in the power of the Holy Spirit within them and to have faith to do great things for God. They need to move past their fear of failure and believe that they are spiritual giants with the ability to conquer cities, heal the sick, and spread the Gospel with power and authority. The speaker leads the audience in a prayer to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit and to believe in their calling as servants of God.

Last Sunday those who were here will remember, we talked about the effects, the qualities that characterize the baptism of the Holy Spirit. How many remember that teaching? Say amen, even if it's to make me feel good. We are going to continue. I want these teachings to be the moment, they are in the moment of God and I know that God has many things that he is doing in our hearts. I know what mine is doing as I meditate on these truths from God's word. I believe that these teachings will mark our congregation forever. We are not going to go back on this insistence on the filling, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I know that sometimes 9 in the morning is a little early for you to feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit but you can feel it and you can learn about it.

There's a passage in Acts, Chapter 4 that I want us to look at for a little while. Acts, Chapter 4, verse 23 onwards. A scene where the disciples at the very beginning of Pentecost are visited with a special anointing from the Holy Spirit. He is talking about Peter and John who have just left the council where they are imprisoned and threatened. It says that:

“..... when they were released, they came to their own and told everything that the chief priests and elders had told them...”

Interesting, it says who came to their own. One would sometimes think, well, his would be his family, right? But look how interesting that yours in this case are the other Christians. When your life is possessed by the Holy Spirit, when you are a Christian devoted to the Lord, when you are an intense believer who has taken the Christian life seriously, do you know who your family is? The children of God, the church. It is your spiritual family.

You remember that when the Lord Jesus Christ was walking one day, there was a crowd around him, he had done great miracles, and a woman said to him 'blessed are the breasts you suckled when you were a baby', and the Lord Jesus Christ said, 'ah, rather blessed are those who hear the word of my Father and do it.'

In other words, look how interesting, right? And the Lord kind of always minimized family ties a little bit. In another passage they told the Lord 'your mother and your brothers are looking for you'. And the Lord said the same thing, 'and who are my mother and my brothers?' My mother and my brothers are the ones who do the word of my heavenly Father. The Lord always put spiritual ties above material, carnal blood ties.

And that is for me is one of the hallmarks of the person filled with the Holy Spirit is that he is an individual who is so possessed by his consciousness of being a member of the Kingdom of God that all other ties, all all other ties, all other human associations pale before their sense of belonging to the Kingdom of God. That is something very important.

I want to tell you how intensely you feel as a member of the Kingdom of God, how loyal you are to the Kingdom of God, how faithfully integrated into the Kingdom of God you are. Do you truly feel that your membership in the family of spiritual faith is above any other human allegiance? That is the main thing.

The Lord said that whoever does not hate father and mother, whoever loves his father and mother more than himself, does not deserve to be called his disciples. You see that the Kingdom of God is radical, the life filled with the Holy Spirit requires a total commitment to God, there is nothing that is above loyalties to the Kingdom of God.

I remember, I It came to mind when I was going to marry Meche, that we were engaged, I still had not served the Lord as I serve him today, I never thought that I was still going to be a pastor, but I knew that God had a call in my life . And one of the things that I shared with Meche was that, I told her, 'Look, Meche, God is first for me and if God calls me one day to serve him...' She was not yet dedicated to the church, she came from a very committed Catholic religious background, but I told her, I was doing my doctorate and my goal and my plans were an academic life of teaching, teaching, etc. and perhaps that was the expectation that she had, to be the wife of a university professor , and she is a professional in her area, etc. But I wanted to make it clear to her that things could change and thank God that I did, because look where I am 25 years later.

I didn't want her to make pretenses....go with false pretenses. I told him, 'whatever God tells me to do, I'm going to do that. Wherever he tells me to go, I'm going to go and if you're going to marry me, you have to understand that.' And she, thank the Lord, accepted and God indeed did that, she changed my plans and here we are today in day. But what I want to say is that one has to have that commitment to God, do you understand?

The Christian life is a life of radical commitment, and the Spirit-filled life transforms your mind. The person who has the presence of God in his life and who is possessed by the Kingdom of God, is a person to whom all other affections and all other loyalties take second place.

Here it says that ".... they came to their own..." After leaving jail where they went, they did not go to mom and dad or their flesh brothers, no, they went to where the other Christians to notify them of what God had done, that he had set them free.

So, it is important, one of the ways that you can know if you are one of the people who are filled with the spirit and that God is important in your life, is where is the first place of my affections , because I believe that many churches have done an injustice to the people of God by making them believe that simply being an evangelical, being a Christian is coming to church from time to time, doing this, making some superficial gestures and that is already being a Christian. It is not like this. The Christian life is a radical life.

If you read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation you see a model that is established of a life that truly pleases God, it is a committed life, it is a life without barriers, it is a life without limits to the Lord It is a life where everything you have, all your love, all your affections are placed on God. That defines your identity, that is what guides you in all your decisions.

And I am touched by what it says here, "... released, they came to their own... - the other Christians-... and they told everything that the chief priests and the elders had told them saying. And when they heard it, they raised their voices to God with one accord and said, 'Sovereign Lord, you are the God who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them that by the mouth of David, your servant, did you say, why the nations riot and the towns think vain things....”

When they saw what God had done to bring these humble men before the Sanhedrin, before the city council, before the maximum authorities of the city, who were against what they were preaching, was something that caused in them a sense of praise and amazement that so quickly these humble people could reach so much notoriety before the civil authorities.

Because that's what happens when a church is filled with the Holy Spirit, one of the things that happens is that there starts to be a commotion in society. A church filled with the Holy Spirit is impossible to ignore, that's why today there are so many churches in Massachusetts, for example, wherever you travel, you see a church, and not just any church, beautiful churches that are in Massachusetts. You go to those little towns on the outskirts of Massachusetts, there are some wonderful little churches, if you go, for example, around Ipswicht and you go through Gordon College, and Gordon Conwell, around Hamilton, those historic areas that have been there since the 17th century. and 18, there are some beautiful churches that are generally in what was originally the town square, with some very nice properties in front, a church with a tower that goes up to the sky and in the chosen place of the town there are those churches.

You know that originally in all of Massachusetts, before any town was established, a church had to be established first and that church had to make a pact of the members, it was a pact with God. All the towns in Massachusetts have pacts, that's a very interesting thing. All the towns in Massachusetts have... the ancient towns have a covenant that was originally made between the members... because they were all Christians and a covenant was always made with God about that town.

The city of Boston has a compact that's tucked in there at the state house. They don't respect it but it's there. The City of Cambridge has written on the very front of their house...City Hall, City Hall. In Cambridge City Hall there is a cement plaque embedded in the Cambridge City Building declaring its allegiance and its foundation in the values of the word of God.

At Harvard University there are buildings that declare Harvard's affiliation with God. Do you know that Harvard was founded to be a place to train men for the ministry. Why is it called Harvard? Because a godly man, a committed Christian named John Harvard, gave a substantial amount of money and his entire Christian library to the founding of that Christian school, to train men for Christian service. And for a long time Harvard was a place where they trained. Later, when it became secularized, they built another university because pious Christians, like Jonathan Edwards, and others saw that it was becoming secularized, the process was already beginning, and so they founded Yale University in Connecticut, with the same purpose of building a university that was truly orthodox and biblical. And when Yale also began to do the same, they founded Princeton University in New Jersey for the same purpose. Today, these are three of the great, great universities in the United States, one of the most illustrious, and the 3, in addition to others, have all been moving away until they are already completely secularized places and totally hostile to the biblical values on which they were founded. founded.

In a sense, those places, understand me correctly, the first buildings, the land, the resources were obtained to glorify God and not just any God, the God of the Bible and not just any God of the Bible, but Jesus Christ, his Son, and to promote the values of the word of God, the historical values.

Now, those great universities have evolved and little by little they became corrupted and those things that were obtained by the people of God to magnify the name of God, are now used to subvert the teachings of the Gospel. But you know what? I believe that God has his time for these things and one day God is going to reclaim what belongs to him, because that was the pacts that were established, legal pacts, both spiritual and legal pacts. They are there, the original values of those institutions were to glorify God.

And what do I mean here, brothers? It is that, look, when this nation in its beginnings was dedicated to the Lord and served God and was filled with the Holy Spirit, God prospered it, God blessed it with great thinkers. At one time here in New England the most educated and most intellectually developed people were the pastors, they were typically the most learned people in any community, they were the pastors, the great thinkers, the ones who published the books were Christian pastors. And the thinkers were also Christians because God, when a community is filled with the Holy Spirit, God blesses that community, God gives it wisdom, God prospers his church, God pours out the gifts that those churches need to grow. And the US was growing, it was prospering. It went from being a small isolated colony far from England, to a powerful nation that soon after said, 'we don't need the mother country, England anymore', and became independent and became much, much more powerful than the empire. British. Because a nation is founded on the word of God, there is prosperity, there is blessing. The authorities take notice, the authorities are subject to the word of the Lord.

What happens is that the church is becoming corrupted and becoming worldly and becoming affiliated with the values of the world and is losing its faith and is losing its hallmarks and then also with that is losing its anointing and its ability to exert influence over the government, over the economy, over the arts, over the media, over the academic world. He is losing his anointing like Samson, who was given a special power by God, a special force while he remained under his Nazirite, a promise not to cut his hair, in the case of Samson, not to drink wine, not to abuse his body. God blessed him, God anointed him, but when he became corrupted he lost all his strength.

So it is with the church. When the church remains filled with the Holy Spirit, when a man or a woman takes the word of God seriously and lives according to the values of the Gospel, these people become a source of influence in their family, in their community, in His workplace. And the church collectively begins to influence and God begins to bless it. Universities are built, villages become towns, and towns become cities.

That's what happens, this church, brothers and sisters made up of immigrants and people recently arrived in the US who don't know many of the language, if this church keeps looking for God, filled with the Holy Spirit, Ordering your life according to the word of the Lord, this church in years will be prosperous and blessed beyond what you can imagine. It already is, brothers.

We have seen how families that have come to León de Judá, who have been with us for 10 years, 20 years have been changing and have been prospering. They simply arrived here, you know what they came with, just a little rickety suitcase, and today they have their houses, today their children have studied, they are at the university. I can give you an example of that, it would take us too long, but they have been blessed, they have been prosperous.

And that's only in a few years. Imagine what can happen if Christ does not see first what is going to happen to this community over time. But that only happens when the filling of the Holy Spirit is in one place.

I can tell you about those Pentecostal families that came to New York, 40, 50 years old, poor things, the poor of the earth; today their children are professionals, they are school teachers, they are seminary presidents, they are people who are in government and economic positions, because where grace comes, the filling of the Holy Spirit, prosperity comes, Blessing, brothers, that's why you have to cultivate that, because it's beautiful when God's order enters and people submit to God's order. The church gains influence, the church gains power, the church receives resources. Where there is a people that is doing what God says to do by faith, an obedient people, a submissive people, a people subject to the word of God, the world has to submit to the order of the church. The devil cannot take away from the church what God gives it. The church can lose it only if it forgets those ancient paths, when it forgets those prescriptions for vitality. Then it loses its power, then it loses its influence. But when the church is subject to the word of the Lord, when a community begins to walk within the paths that the word of God marks, that church begins to acquire influence. The government takes notice, as in this case.

The Christians were surprised that Peter and John were taken, it is as if they had been taken and brought before the US Senate and before the House of Representatives to ask them who they were. And these Christians when they hear that, they magnify God, because it has to be a miracle that so soon the Gospel is being brought before the authorities to testify to the great ones of the nation. That was a great miracle and that is why they raised their voices and said "....Sovereign Lord, you are the God who made heaven and earth, the sea and everything that is in them...."

Brothers, I believe that if the church of Jesus Christ here in León de Judá in Park Street Church, in Grace Chapel, there in Lexington, in other villages and regions of Massachusetts and New England, if the Christian churches they put the batteries, the Senate itself of the United States, is going to have to notify about what is happening here in New England and the church is going to begin to exert again the influence that God has given it, because Christ said before going to his assent, he said:

“... all power is given to me in heaven and on earth, therefore go and preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations, and teach them to obey all the things that I have commanded you.....”

In other words, the Lord Jesus Christ delegated authority to the church and a church filled with the Holy Spirit and It's an absolutely conquering church. The first disciples began like this, a handful of poor men and women, completely illiterate, without any influence, but when the power of the Holy Spirit fell on them they became an overwhelming force, and there began the clash of powers.

Immediately when the church arose with its anointing, the world began to fight against it. Persecution came against her. The authorities threw themselves against that nascent movement of the church, the first Christians, and the persecution began. What's going on? That when the devil throws himself against the move of the people of God, God still uses the devil to advance the interests of the Kingdom of God.

Because what happened? That when the Christians were scattered and persecuted and had to flee from Jerusalem, they went to Samaria and the Christian virus spread, as it were, it began to spread to Samaria, as the Lord said, to Judea and to the whole earth. Those Christians who were being persecuted, filled with the Holy Spirit, fell in a small village, began to witness to others, a church was founded, and the Gospel began to spread.

When the Lord is over a church, when he is over a town, when he is over a person, even the devil has to do the work to bless them. The devil wants to kill, steal and destroy but Christ says, I have come so that they may have life and have life to the full.

When God's anointing is on your life, even the devil's curses are turned into a blessing, when the people are under God's blessing. Do you remember the story of Balaam, that heretic prophet that there is, rare, a rare character in the Old Testament, that an enemy king of Israel.... Israel was on the move of God, it was going to conquer, and this king knew that God's power was with Israel and they were afraid and then a prophet was found to curse the people of Israel, like witchcraft to neutralize the people of Israel.

And this prophet every time he was going to curse the people of God, words of blessing came out and the king every so often and said to him, 'but I didn't pay you to curse them...', and he says, 'no, I just can't, I have to bless them.' Understands?

Brothers, that is the most beautiful thing, that when the grace of God is in your life, when you are living according to the principles of the Gospel, the devil cannot curse you, the devil cannot harm your children, the devil cannot bring destruction to your home, the devil cannot destroy your life, because the blessing of God is upon you.

What you have to make sure is that your home is a place where God's blessing can rest. You have to remove from your home everything that is not from God. You have to install in your home the values of the Kingdom of God. You have to start ordering your life, put things right with God, battle against the flesh against the devil, against the world, against your own mind, order your life so that your house is a place where the presence of the Lord is.

If the city of Boston invited the presence of the Lord to come in, this city could solve its problems of crime, of dysfunctional families, of young people killing each other in a moment, because the presence of God and the devil has to flee, darkness has to flee and prosperity comes. What happens is that here the men of this city, the leaders of this city, with their secularized and rational doctrines know that they are eating a cable. They're watching their children kill each other and seeing the dysfunction of the family in this city and all the problems that are going on, but they don't want to back down.

They still insist that there is a solution that is not God's solution and while their children are dying, doing drugs, killing each other, families are not functioning, churches with all their Millions of dollars are not hitting the ball and they still insist, 'No, there is another solution, we want to try.' And what they're doing is they're destroying the car completely. Inept mechanics are messing around with the wiring and are destroying the entire mechanism. But they say, 'No, I know.

How many of those men are sometimes so stubborn? And his wife is telling him, 'but, call a mechanic so and so'. ‘No, I know how to do it’ and they pull the cables and sparks fly and when he comes to see the car destroyed there, ok, then we are going to call the mechanic.

Brothers, the man in this city, and in this nation, as he does not want to bow down before God's medicine, they are destroying their cities, they are destroying their societies, but the church has to get its act together, as we say, and seek the presence of God so that we can speak with authority to those leaders, pseudo-leaders who have settled there, because they are not doing good for the community. But unless the church gains its authority and is a righteous church, an upright church, an anointed church, we can't get our hands off those leaders who aren't truly working for the community.

What happened to the early church is that they stood firm, they were persecuted, they were attacked, they were opposed but they held on, they martyred them, isolated and alienated them, but they held on to their faith, they held on firm. And in the year 325 AD the great Roman empire with all its army, all its apparatus, all its economy, all its world influence fell face down before the person of Jesus Christ and Constantine was converted, and the entire Roman empire was converted to the Gospel, because where the power of God is, the church advances, the church gains influence.

Unfortunately, immediately after they gained power they began to corrupt again. They did not know how to use what God put in their hands and the Christian church began... when all these influential people entered, with a lot of knowledge and a lot of money, they began to take on the shape of the world and there began the degeneration of the church, until the Reformation had to come, in the 16th century. But there were times of blessing and the Gospel advanced and great things were done.

But we are in a time, brothers, as a church, I believe that God is visiting the Lion of Judah congregation and God says, 'I want these things that were seen in the book of Acts to be Also see among yourselves: healings, signs, prodigies, conversions, influence in the community, impact on the city, that the authorities take you seriously, that your children be blessed, your families restored, your economy prosperous. But I need you to take me seriously, as these people took me seriously, that for them it was the life of the church, the church family, the family of faith, to worship the Lord and I began to prosper them.

In verse 27 he says, “...for indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and the people of Israel were united in this city against your holy Son Jesus, whom you anointed, to to do whatever your hand and your counsel had before determined to happen....”

In other words, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the persecution of the first Apostles, the persecution of Herod and all those things, were not It was because they wanted to do it, it was because God commanded them to do it. Christ was not crucified because he simply had no choice. No, Christ was crucified because it was the will of the Father, because it was a purpose that God had. God was directing the history of humanity, bringing things to the point where the Lord died for our sins and then the time of the church came. And they recognize this and worship the Lord.

It says: ".... to be what your hand and your advice had determined to happen..."

And now look at the request, I love this prayer of the first disciples. I ask the Lord for this to be fulfilled in our church and in this ministry, verse 29 says:

“..... and now Lord, look at their threats and grant your servants speak with all boldness your word....”

What does bold mean? It means with all courage, with all effectiveness, with all intensity, with all security, with all capacity to influence with your word. We have to ask the Lord, 'Father, give the church courage, give me courage.' A person filled with the Holy Spirit when they speak the word of God has a special weight, when they testify they do not necessarily do so with eloquent words or lush or poetic words, but there is some authenticity in the testimony of these people, the unconverted must see it. he listens and feels like he has a quality of sincerity and authenticity that he knows there's something important there that he has to listen to.

However, when one does not have the anointing of God you can speak in classic sonnets and people will not feel anything because it is not a matter of verbiage, it is a matter of the anointing of God, the boldness of God. And we have to ask the Lord, 'Father, give your church courage to witness. Give your church effectiveness to speak the word of the Lord. Give us that authenticity, that we know that we are with you and therefore when we speak, we will speak from experience and not simply because we heard it from someone else.

It says, “....to speak your word with all boldness as you stretch out your hand for healing and signs and wonders to be done through the name of your holy Son Jesus...”

Brothers, how many would like to see signs and wonders and miracles in the midst of the church. We have to yearn for that, brothers, we have to ask the Lord, 'send your rain as we sang last Sunday in the 12 o'clock service, enliven us with your spirit. We have to ask the Father, 'Father, extend your hand so that signs and wonders and miracles may be done in our midst...'

Because God wants a church that has the space for the Holy Spirit to move and miracles of healings, spiritual liberations, miracles of provision and blessing, and conversion of people. It's going to be a church that the world is going to look at and be intrigued by that church and want to come to. Out there the world is falling apart and they need to see communities where the vitality of God is present, where the life of God is in manifestation and we want to be that kind of church.

“...When they had prayed, he says, the place where they were assembled trembled and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness....”

>What they asked for was fulfilled, they asked for the filling of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit descended on them. Here's something interesting, you know, that these people were probably already filled with the Holy Spirit or maybe a lot of them were the first time. Notice that no one here prayed for them, no one laid hands on them, but they had a passion for God. They asked the Lord to visit them, there was a cry and God blessed, and God made the Holy Spirit fall on them and they received the filling of the Holy Spirit.

You know that you can receive the filling of the Holy Spirit several times throughout your life. I do not believe that the filling of the Holy Spirit is received once for all. The Apostle Paul in Ephesians, Chapter 5 says, "be filled with the Holy Spirit..."

In other words, in the present continuous 'live filled with the Holy Spirit.' I believe that we have to continually come before God and say, 'Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit,' every day we have to.

I have told you, this morning before I come here to preach, I have a long day ahead of me, woe is me, if I don't come before Heavenly Father and say, 'Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit this morning, renew my strength and give me the fullness of your spirit.'

And so you have to ask the Lord every day 'fill me with the Holy Spirit, allow signs and wonders to be done in my life, allow me to be a man, a woman, who lives in the supernatural plane' .

A person filled with the Holy Spirit always lives in the supernatural realm. For the person filled with the Holy Spirit, the supernatural is natural. God speaks to him, God gives him dreams, God gives him a word of advice, God makes divine appointments with people.

I was speaking last Sunday about divine appointments and I was sharing with the English service last night about that. I don't know if it was with you that I spoke about the Ethiopian, that God establishes a divine appointment between Philip and the Ethiopian. This great official of Queen Candace of Ethiopia is restless about the word of the Lord and he is reading because that is what happens when the Holy Spirit moves, there are restless people and God sends Philip, his evangelist, to preach the word to him so that the Gospel now spreads to Ethiopia, Africa, to the North African area itself.

This Friday Meche and I were going to have dinner somewhere and the train she was coming from, because I was coming from another place, we were going to meet at the restaurant got stuck and what we thought was going to be a 10 minute wait, I, for her, it was over in 40 minutes. And there I am in the restaurant that I don't know what to do, I have eaten two bread rolls, I ran out of bread. I'm there moving my hands because people are looking at me thinking, 'the woman stood him up,' I'm feeling bad and there's an older man next to me, because there were some tables that were quite close to each other and he is also alone and he only came to eat by himself. And I overheard him talking to the waitress and he told her that he had been a visiting professor at Harvard University 30 years ago, he told her. And he says, '30 years ago I came to this restaurant when it was just starting out.'

And the thing is, when I heard him say, I had nothing else to do except listen to the conversation. Meche tells me that I am the most quarrelsome person in the world. I hear him say that he was a professor at Harvard University and you know what? in my spirit I felt that God wanted me to talk to that man. But I didn't know how to get a hold of this old man next door, so I made a silly comment there, about something. I wished him a good appetite when the food came, but he did not resonate with the matter. He said thank you and that was it.

The fact is that time passed, and as I said, I had been waiting there for a long time, and then at the end he turned to me and said, 'wow, your food was late,' and I I told him 'certainly, not the food but the woman is the one who has been late'. So I tell him 'I heard that you were a professor at Harvard University. I graduated, I told him, I did my doctorate at Harvard University. He tells me, 'wow, tremendous, that's great, and what did you study?'

The man was already open, see? Then he says, "And what did you study?" 'Well, I studied Spanish-American literature.' 'Wow, he says, my wife has a PhD in poetry and I'm a physicist, I studied physics and I'm a physics professor at the university in Haiti.'

And then we started talking about literature and physics and all these kinds of things and at the end this man tells me the following..... Remember that I felt that God wanted me to talk to this man, and I believe that God put me there solely to make a positive and benevolent influence in his life on behalf of an evangelical.

Then at one point, he kind of softened, and he told me the following, 'Look, I've had two great influences on my life: the first was my fundamentalist evangelical background. The man had grown up in a fundamentalist Christian home. And the second influence has been my scientific training, as a physicist. And he told me, and when I was young and I entered university to study physics, I found that religion was asking me to look at the world through a hole, it told me 'a pigeon hole', to look at it through a hole, and I decided not to look at the world through a hole, and I renounced my religion.'

And he said, 'and what I don't like about religious people is that everyone believes who have the truth and speak ill of other religions.'

Now, I wasn't there, the man had already paid his check, his bill and everything, he was leaving. I was not there to start telling him, 'no, you are wrong because only Jesus Christ......' You have to have wisdom, do you understand?

I felt that God had put me there simply so that I, that man would leave with a good impression of an Evangelical, because I had told him that I was a pastor and that we had talked about it, that I pastored a Hispanic church here in Boston, etc. And that's why he told me about his religious background. So I told him, 'I agree, I think we have to respect ourselves, we have to respect people of other faiths because I have discovered that there are people who fear God and are moral and ethical people. We cannot throw dirt on the faith of others. We have to respect them even if we don't agree with them. And he told me 'I agree with that'.

And then at that moment Meche arrived and look, this man said to Meche, 'you know what? That man is a good man, he told her, and if I went to a church I would go to his church here in Boston. And so he said goodbye and went like the Ethiopian on his way, and who knows what God can do through that conversation. Who knows if through an intelligent conversation there with a God fearing Christian and who he knows is a Christian who believes in the Bible as the word of God? That man can begin a process that God can take him before he dies to a knowledge and acceptance of Jesus Christ.

But what I want to tell you, I'll finish with that, right? that when God is in your life God opens divine appointments for you. God allows you to be influential in people's lives. God can put a person on a plane you can talk to. Use the opportunities that you have, because I believe that when your life is filled with the magnetic presence of the Holy Spirit, you will discover moments and opportunities where you will be able to speak to someone about the Gospel.

If you are a young person in school, God is going to give you a word. Share the word. This very week God allowed me to discover that a person to whom I timidly witnessed 25 years ago and who is an ultra secular and ultra intellectual person and when the Lord was awakening me spiritually I timidly dared to speak to him very briefly about my spiritual experience and I I thought, 'this one is going to laugh at me, but I have to do it because if I don't I'm betraying that friend'. And I had shared with him in other environments that were not of God at that time, and I was afraid that he would think, 'this one went to the hallelujahs and became a religious already and all that...', but forcing me I myself shared some of my experience. It was brief and 25 years later my friend calls me and says, 'You remember the day you told me such and such a thing.' And I told him, 'of course, I've always remembered it, because I always felt a little inadequate when I told him that and I thought, there was no resonance in him, he didn't say anything, he kept quiet'. And he told me 'in 25 years I haven't stopped thinking about that moment and I want to talk to you and we have an appointment to see each other this coming week'.

Because we can't... brother, if you have the power of God in your life, if you have the anointing of God in your life, God is going to start doing tremendous things in your life. There will be signs and wonders, there will be divine appointments. You will begin to influence your friends. God is going to give you opportunities and you are going to have to go through that door in the name of the Lord even with a lot of fear and trembling, but do it in the name of Jesus, dare to share the faith that God has given you. God has made you a winner, he has not made you a loser. God has made you to influence, not to be influenced. God has made you to be a leader, not to be led and polluted by others. God has made you to be the head and not the tail, as the word of the Lord says, and you have to walk with that authority, you have to walk with that certainty that where I walk the Kingdom of God walks with me, where I speak, God's authority is speaking through me because I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ, I am a member of an army that is conquering, and the church of Christ needs to establish that momentum, that impetus, begin to move with the power of God and if you, and you, and you, and each one of us here begins to exert the influence that God has given us by faith, wherever our place of work, or study, or dwelling or whatever, God is going to do something wonderful in our community. God is going to conquer this community. God is going to do miracles and wonders when we begin to move by faith, because when we have received the anointing of God, we have confessed it, we have declared it within ourselves, then now we have to, as the Apostle Paul says, fan the fire of gift of God that is in us. We have to start using it by faith, even if you don't feel like a lion, roar like a lion.

And that meek and shy kitten is going to turn into a lion. How many say glory to God? Even if you don't feel like an anointed evangelist, start doing the work of an evangelist and you will see that you have the power of an evangelist within you. Even if you don't feel that you have the gift of healing, start praying for the sick in the name of Jesus and God will do signs and wonders in your life.

We have to believe it, brothers, that it is the only way that what I am speaking from the pulpit is going to become a reality in your life and in my life. We have to do the work of the Holy Spirit, do the work of God.

Let's stand up. Let's give glory to the Lord this morning. We are going to ask the Lord to make us an influential community, to make us a powerful community, that the works of the Holy Spirit, brothers, I want you to believe in the name of Jesus that if the spirit of God is within you, no there is no one who can resist you. The devil has to submit to you, evil has to submit to you, drunkenness has to submit to a church filled with the Holy Spirit, but we have to believe it, we have to revolutionize our perception of ourselves. We have received the anointing of the saint of God but we have not believed it, we do not move, we have not made moves of faith. We have not ventured to timidly begin to use, minimally, what God has given us.

God's gifts develop as we begin by faith to use them. It is not for emotions. No one is going to come to you and tell you, you have the gift. No, God has said it in his word so you have to believe it and then you have to start moving and living that life of a man, a woman of God, a warrior of God.

The problem of God's people is that we say things, we confess them with our mouths, but we stay there. And when the time comes to put them into practice we chicken out because it's risky and we can make a fool of ourselves, and if it doesn't work we look ugly and that's why we put up with it.

But God says, 'No, start walking on the water, get out of your boat and start walking on the water. In my name, cast the net in my name and I will do miracles in your life.

But you have to pay the price, you have to believe God, you have to leave that water-soaked evangelical mentality and become a warrior of God, a warrior of God, a man, a woman who lives for the Kingdom of God, a man who knows that his first family is the family of faith, a man, a woman who puts his loyalty first in the Kingdom of God. your father and mother are second to the Kingdom of God, your comfort is secondary to the assurance that you are doing the work of the Lord, your personal dignity is totally tertiary to the assurance that you are being an instrument of God, and if you have that making a fool of himself does it, because God is more important than his dignity.

That's the posture, the mindset that God honors and blesses, through which he does great things in the life of a child of his. I beg you in the name of Jesus, get your batteries. If I had to say the title of the sermon 'Get your batteries on', that is the title of this sermon. Start believing that God has done something in your life.

In the name of Jesus, raise your hands right now and receive power to evangelize. Say with myself, 'I have the power, I have the anointing, I have the anointing of God within me, I am a spiritual giant, a spiritual giant. The Holy Spirit dwells within me. God has called me to do feats in his name to defeat Satan, to make the hosts of hell flee, to conquer cities, to win hearts, to heal the sick, to understand the word of God, to speak the Gospel with power and authority. and to have victory over my difficulties, over my illnesses, over my limitations, over my ties, over my fears, over my past, over my present and over my future.

I am a spiritual giant, I am a servant of God, I am filled with the Holy Spirit. Christ dwells within me, the spirit does prowess within me, and I move with the power of the Holy Spirit. I will not fear what man can do to me. I will believe that if God is with me I am more than a winner and that the one who is within me is more powerful than the one who is in the world and therefore I am going to do the works of God and I am going to triumph and my life will be full of Holy Spirit because God has promised it and he has to fulfill it.

Now, thank you Lord, thank you for your anointing, thank you for your filling, thank you for your visitation. I receive it, I receive it, I receive it in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Glory to the Lord. Amen. Amen.

Believe it in the name of Christ, believe it in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Thank my Lord. We adore you. Thank you Lord, we bless you. We believe that you have authority, we believe that you are a powerful God, we believe that you have, Lord, the same fidelity that you showed to these servants of yours in the first century. You are going to do feats, you are going to do great things in this community, Lord. We receive the promise of your holy spirit on this day, Lord. Thank you, thank you, Jesus. Thank you Lord, give thanks and glory to the Lord.
