Isaiah 6:8 • Luke 7:22
There’s a world beyond the window Fading out into the grey We hold the medicine of mercy But we turn our eyes away We’ve been sleeping in the safety While the city cries in pain But the Spirit isn’t fearful It breaks the heavy chain We were not given cowardice But power, love, and mind It’s time to leave the comfort zone And leave the fear behind
I hear the voice inside the smoke Asking "Who will go for Us?" Through the trembling and the hope I will answer with my trust Here I am, Lord, send me out To the broken, to the lost Through the shadows and the doubt No matter what the cost I won't stay silent, I won't stand still Here I am, Lord, to do Your will Send me
Like the nights in old Corinth When the vision came so clear "Do not hold your peace, keep speaking For I have many people here" Whatever holds us back is broken By the Light that leads the way Go and tell them what you’ve seen Go and tell them what is saved The blind are seeing colors now The lame are walking free The cure is in the Gospel And the vessel... it’s you and me
If I had known You sooner Oh, the scars I could have saved I see the faces in the crowd The ones Your love can raise A friend, a neighbor, waiting there To feel a love so new The harvest fields are white as snow The laborers are few So I’m stepping past the barriers Into the holy fight I am walking out of darkness And running to the light!
I hear the voice inside the smoke Asking "Who will go for Us?" Through the trembling and the hope I will answer with my trust Here I am, Lord, send me out To the broken, to the lost Through the shadows and the doubt No matter what the cost I won't stay silent, I won't stand still Here I am, Lord, to do Your will Send me
The dead are raised to life again The poor are hearing the good news Send me to the neighbor Send me to the friend I’m ready for the journey Until the very end Here I am Here I am Send me
What do you think about "Send me!"? We would love to hear from you.
