Summary: As we enter a new year, we rely on God to secure our borders and provide for our every need. However, we are called not only to receive this divine peace but to actively share it as peacemakers in our daily lives. Let us build peace within our own circles—at work and in our homes—allowing God's provision to overflow through us to a broken world.

As we stand on the edge of a new year, our hearts often bounce between hope for what’s coming and worry about the unknown. But the Scriptures give us something solid to hold onto. The prophet Isaiah reminds us that peace and provision go hand-in-hand; God doesn't leave His people lacking what they need. Our Heavenly Father is the Divine Architect who secures our borders and fills our lives with the "finest wheat." We aren't walking into this new year empty-handed; we are spiritually full and safe in His grace.

However, we aren't just supposed to keep this peace; we are called to share it.

Matthew reminds us that "blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." To be a child of God is to join the "family business." We are fed at His table so that we have the strength to bring healing to a broken world.

Let's be honest: our prayers might be the only reach we have into global conflicts like those in Ukraine, Malaysia, or Sudan. We can’t single-handedly solve international politics, but we can build peace within our own borders—at work and in our homes.

At work, if a colleague is struggling with a project, take the time to help them out, even if it’s not technically your job. At home in our marriages, we can offer the specific peace our spouses are craving and provide what they are lacking.

Husbands: Many wives just want to be seen and heard. You can bring peace by pausing the TV to be fully present and really listen to her concerns.

Wives: Your husband might be battling unspoken fears about providing for the family. You can bring peace by showing him respect. If he needs to focus, try not to interrupt; instead, let him know you feel safe with him and trust that God will show him the way forward.

This year, let’s fill up on God’s provision so that we can overflow with His peace.
