Summary: As Christians, we are called to be waiters of the Gospel, inviting others to partake in God's banquet. We should not delay in answering God's call to evangelize and seek the lost, as it brings unspeakable joy and growth in our faith. The faithfulness of a disciple who follows Christ is pleasing in God's eyes. We need to prioritize intimacy with God through prayer, which leads to revival in the Church and a new generation of Christians who know what it means to be in communion with God. We should seek God's guidance and words to speak to those in need, and not be afraid to feed the sheep who do not have a shepherd.
God invites us to participate daily as "waiters" of his gospel. Our task is to call "the diners" to enjoy the delights of the Lord's table. Many people are hungry and do not know that the banquet is already prepared.
The beauty of the Gospel is in its practice. If you ever heard the voice of God inviting you to preach his word and seek the lost, do not leave it for later. You will experience unspeakable joy the day God gives you a spiritual child for his glory. It's a great feeling, and most importantly… you will grow! when you see yourself called to be a living witness to those brothers who have known the Lord because you were brave and presented him the way of truth and life. The transforming grace of Christ will take on a new spiritual dimension in your life. Be a disciple and reproduce yourself in other disciples! Offer Christ your cross that He will know what to do with it!
In our delay in the Lord's call to evangelism, we sometimes waste too much time trying to ease the hammering of our own Christian conscience. We recriminate ourselves, we feel incompetent like Moses when the Lord asked him to lead the exodus of his people to the promised land by a simple stutter. Jesus continues to call us to preach, to announce the Good News, to honor him in everything we do, without forgetting that perhaps at times we will have to be willing to not have a place to rest our heads, to abandon ourselves and totally depend on Him His invitation alone is permanent, immanent and requires a diligent and firm attitude. The faithfulness of one who follows Christ is like pleasant incense that rises into the presence of the Lord.
Today we are running out of excuses for not doing what we should do. We hear our brothers speak wishing for a revival in the community and in our countries. But there is a lack of intimacy with God, communion with the Spirit, the prayer that God longs for from our lips and hearts. When the Church (you and I) groans out of hunger for God and the passion to become more and more intimate with Jesus Christ consumes us, we will have the revival that we long for. We need a new generation of Christians who not only know how to present an extraordinary curriculum to serve the Lord, but who know what intimate communion with our Father is. Our falls and mistakes do not occur because of the way we serve, but rather because of our neglect to pray without hunger for God. The disciple and the Church need to live on their knees. The success of the Christian does not lie only in knowing how to do the job but in being consumed by intimacy with God. Our walk in the glorious paths of the gospel - with successes and failures - will be determined by our relationship with the Father.
Do you feel the desire to serve God? Observe and see where he is working and join his wonderful plan, but not before consuming all the time you can alone with him. Perhaps the Lord wants to use you in your work, in your group of close friends where there are many who still do not know of the transforming power of his presence in the life of man. Seek God in prayer, and He will teach you how to speak to those in need. He will present it to you and put on your lips the necessary words, those that are not in any "plan of salvation" designed by human minds, those that come from the heart promoted by the Spirit of God himself. Spiritual battles are won in prayer and unconditional devotion.
Be brave, my brother and sister. Feed the sheep that do not yet have a shepherd. Give yourself to prayer and speak of Christ to that helpless creature who is waiting for you. There is no greater blessing!
God bless you!
