Summary: Isaiah 40:27-31 speaks to those who feel demoralized and feel like God has forgotten them. Isaiah reminds them to focus on God's attributes and meditate on His perfect character, power, knowledge, and wisdom. God does not give up and knows all things. The passage also reminds us that God's works are not necessarily accomplished through human effort but through His grace and favor. We should trust in God's goodness, mercy, and faithfulness, and declare His grace against our problems and difficulties. Those who wait for the Lord will have new strength and will not grow tired or weary.
The key to a Christian's power is to focus on God, not on problems or difficulties. In Isaiah 40, the prophet encourages people to look towards God's attributes, power, and wisdom instead of being demoralized by their problems. When facing challenges, believers should not focus on the difficulty but on the greatness of God. The Apostle Paul says that we can do everything in Christ Jesus. The Lord loves problems because they are opportunities for Him to display His glory. God wants to work in our lives, and He can do anything. The important thing is to keep our gaze fixed on the greatness of the Lord.
The speaker discusses the importance of seeking God's power and anointing in order to live a successful and abundant life. He emphasizes the need to focus on God and renew oneself in His presence, rather than getting caught up in daily struggles and temporary earthly concerns. The speaker encourages listeners to remember their identity as children of God and seek intimacy with Him, in order to bear fruit and overcome difficulties with His power.
The Lord is speaking of grace and blessings to his people. Trust in God and fill yourself with his power. Do not focus on past failures or difficulties. Share the blessings you receive with others, and the more you give, the more you will be blessed. God has good things and purposes for us, and the best is yet to come. God's power is greater than any problem or enemy we may face. Believe in God's favor and grace in every aspect of your life. Celebrate and adore the Lord, and focus on Him instead of the negativity around us.
In verse 27, Isaiah 40:27, it says “Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak your Israel, my way is hidden from the Lord and my judgment has passed from my God? You have not known, you have not heard that the eternal God is Jehovah, who created the ends of the earth. He does not faint, nor is he fatigued, and there is no one who can reach his understanding. He gives effort to the weary, and multiplies the forces to those who have none. Boys get tired and tired, young people falter and fall, but those who wait for the Lord will have new strength, they will raise wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not get tired. May the Lord bless his holy word.
This morning, actually Saturday morning, around 4 in the morning, while we were having our waking time here, a moment for me to share something with the brothers and I was looking for There was a fresh word from the Lord and I found this passage from Isaiah, Chapter 40, and as I examined it to see if it was appropriate to encourage our brothers, I thought: "in reality, this message is so basic that perhaps it does not lend itself more than to one or two quick sentences, with quick comment phrases.” Because we have recited that passage a lot where it says that boys get tired and tired, young people falter and fall, but those who wait for Jehovah ..... etc, etc.
But being obedient to what I felt was a word from the Lord for the group, I obeyed and shared it with the brothers and some testified to me that it was a great blessing, and while doing it I really felt the confirmation from the Lord, and for this reason, it was a small group already at that time of the morning, I feel that God wants to give us a word of encouragement. On Friday all the flow from the very beginning of the meeting was the love of God for us, the grace of God that flows over our lives, the good intentions of the Lord, the desire that the Lord has that our spiritual life is not sterile, not rigid, not burdensome, but truly God has good intentions for us, God wants to bless us, God wants to affirm and strengthen us.
And this passage speaks precisely to people who perhaps feel like they have reached the end of the road. Perhaps you feel that your burden weighs too much on you, and you have been dealing with a difficult situation for too long that does not obey prayers, requests or fasting and perhaps you are already feeling tempted to say: no more, I am not going to continue interceding or praying because God has already forgotten me and my path. This morning when I entered the service I greeted a sister who had not seen her for a while and she told me: Pastor, I'm here, I'm happy but I've been struggling for three months and in difficult situations. I told her, sister, you are in the right place, here in the house of the Lord, here you can find the hope that you need, the joy and the word that you need. And perhaps like her, I felt that this was a confirmation from the Lord that God wants to encourage us to continue in the battle, to continue there until the Lord knows what He has for us.
The writer Isaiah, the prophet of God, begins there in verse 27 with a question, which is a rhetorical question because it has its own answer already, the answer is obvious. Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak your Israel, my way is hidden from the Lord and my judgment passed from my God? In other words, Isaiah is referring to Israel itself, Jacob was another name given to Israel, and he is saying: Why do you think that God already forgot about you? We have to understand the book of Isaiah, and the ministry of Isaiah. Isaiah wrote to a defeated people, to a people who were already being exiled, they were paying the fruit of their sin of idolatry, of forgetfulness of God, they had sinned against God, they were drinking the consequences of their sins, they felt distanced from God, it felt like there was no hope for them. A powerful kingdom was against them, they could not count on God's favor and God used the prophet Isaiah to write words, among other things, of encouragement for that nation under judgment, that demoralized nation.
And that's why Isaiah has wonderful passages of comfort from the Lord, and that's why Isaiah also contains some of the most beautiful prophecies about the coming Messiah. Because the Lord wanted not only to bless the Jews in exile with a word of promise and hope for them in the historical moment they were living, but also wanted to bless them with a long-term vision, of a day when God would manifest his favor in an unprecedented, final way, and that is why there are also these passages of messianic promise, for the people of Israel. But here it specifically speaks to the Jews and by extension it speaks to us, it speaks to you, and it speaks to me too. Because Israel is the original people of God but the church is that continuation of God's favor among men. We are the new Israel. Not that God has finished his purpose with Israel, but those promises given to Israel are promises given to the children of God and we can also take them in the name of the Lord. Amen. You are very quiet this morning.
But God also wants to bless them with that promise. Israel is you, Jacob is you and God says to you. Why do you say that your path has disappeared from the sight of the Lord? Why do you feel like God already forgot about you? Brothers, the Lord says the word "he has us carved in the palm of his hand". God knows you, God is aware of your need and sometimes you may feel like you have done things that have already taken away God's favor, and you no longer have the right to receive anything from God. Perhaps you have made mistakes in your life and have gotten into serious situations, perhaps you have even denied God at some point in your life, and perhaps you, like Israel, feel that my opportunity has passed, and my time has passed. There is no hope for me. Or perhaps it is the first time that you come to church and you feel that those miracles that the Bible says can happen and those answers are for those who have been in the Gospel for a long time or those who know how to pray, or those who are experts in the Bible or those who know how to do spiritual warfare. I want to tell you that the only thing God needs is a heart that believes him, a contrite and humiliated heart. A heart that says: Lord, for you nothing is impossible.
When you look at the word, I remembered this morning, the case of the paralytic sitting there by the pond and the Bible says that every certain number of months or years an angel would come mysteriously, invisibly, remove the water and the people already knew that when they saw that water stirred like this, by an invisible hand, that meant that the power of God was there and the first one to jump into the water received the blessing and was healed. And that paralyzed man was there and he had not been able to receive his miracle for years, because there were others more agile than him who jumped before him. And perhaps that man felt as Israel felt, or perhaps as you feel. My hope has already passed and there is no future for me because others..... and that is how man thinks, but Christ has come to bring a new way for God to relate to men. Now it is not because of the effort, now it is because of the grace of God, that grace that we do not deserve. It is not because of what you do, it is not because of the strength that you have, it is not because of your good works, it is not because of the money you give to the church, it is simply because of the favor and grace and mercy of God in your life.
If you have a heart that desires to see the glory of God and you are humbling yourself before the Lord, and you say: "Father, nothing is impossible for you", that miracle can happen in your life also as it occurred in the life of that paralytic. Because the Lord Jesus approached him and said: "What is your problem, what do you need?" I lose the opportunity”, and the Lord told him: “Don't worry, I'll heal you”. And that man came out with his stretcher on his arm as a symbol that with Christ all things are possible, that Christ is the source of grace and mercy.
Last night as we began, or the night before, as we began our service, the Lord spoke to me in the Book of Zechariah about, precisely in the construction of the temple, in Chapter IV, in the Book of Zechariah there is a call to the people of Israel to build the temple after the exile, after the times of Isaiah, precisely. God invites the Hebrew people when they have returned from exile to build his temple. And the Israelites felt defeated after the exile, it was a small group that had returned to Israel. The task of building a temple worthy of the Lord seemed very big, it seemed very difficult, they did not have resources, they did not have enough money, they did not have enough masons and talented people. And the Lord wanted to encourage them to build the temple, because the Lord wants his temple built, just as he also wants it here in León de Judá, that we build him a temple. Hard-working people are needed who understand that God wants that temple to be built and who believe that God makes it possible.
So He wrote through Zacharias to the people, and look how he says here in verse 6, 4:6, Zechariah. "...... then he answered and spoke to me saying: "This is the word of Jehovah to Zerubbabel", that is, Zerubbabel was the one who was going to build that temple, a ruler of Israel, "..... which says , not with army, nor with strength, but with my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. who are you, oh, great mountain, before Zerubbabel you will be reduced to plain. He will remove the first stone with acclamations of grace, grace! to her."
And what is he saying here? God is encouraging his people by saying: “Look, you are going to build that temple, it seems difficult, but my temple is not necessarily going to be built with the efforts of men but with my spirit. You see, the works of the Lord are done not with talent, not with what we can necessarily do, but it is God using us. And then God says: “..... and then when you lay the first stone, as a sign of the beginning of the work, the people will say thank you, thank you! In other words, this temple is going to be built not necessarily with sweat and tears and suffering and suffering, but with my grace, with my favor, with my blessing and you are going to build it, and that mountain that seems immense, you are going to build it. flatten so that my temple will be on it, and it will be reduced to a valley in a moment, because my grace is going to flow through you.
Brothers, the idea is that perhaps there is a task that God has in your life, there is a situation, there is a great mountain that is in front of you, you are struggling with some difficult situation and God says: “ look, in a moment that giant that seems invincible, I am going to reduce it to nothing, and you are going to begin to be blessed, and your life is going to be built, and you are going to hear acclamations of grace, grace! When you are in trouble, brother, when you are in trouble, say grace from the Lord! Send the grace of God against your problem. Send the grace of the Lord against your need and that declaration of God's favor reduces the obstacles to nothing.
Instead of letting ourselves be frightened by the problems and difficulties of life, God calls us rather to trust in his favor, in his goodness, in his mercy, in his faithfulness. And that's why here in the next verse it says in Isaiah, Chapter 40; “You have not known, you have not heard that the eternal God is Jehovah, who created the ends of the earth. He does not faint, nor is he fatigued with weariness, and his understanding is not reached by anyone. Look at the answer that Isaiah gives to those people who are demoralized. He does not tell them “your problem has a solution, don't worry, God will answer you”. Isaiah's response is an invitation to look towards God, to look at the Lord, to focus on God's attributes, to think about who God is, and to meditate on his marvelous works, on his perfect character, on his power, on his knowledge, in his wisdom. Isaiah tells those afflicted people: “Look at God, look at the attributes of God, look at who God is. God knows all things, He does not give up”, that is, God has knowledge of everything and also has the power to solve everything.
And if you look at all of that Chapter 40, especially verse 12 onwards, it's a great praise and a great indication of who God is, of the power that He has, how invincible God is. And actually what we have here in verse 27, even though I started with 27, it's more of a culmination of those earlier verses, because it's just a practical application of everything that precedes that rhetorical question. If you look at verse 12, Isaiah says “who measured the waters with the hollow of his hand, and the heavens with his span, with 3 fingers gathered the dust of the earth and weighed the mountains with balances and the hills with weights? ? Who taught the spirit of Jehovah or advised him by teaching him? Who did you ask for advice to be warned about?
Verse 15 “behold, the nations are like a drop of water that falls from a bucket and are estimated as small dust on the scales. Behold, He makes the islands disappear like dust, nor Lebanon will suffice for fire, nor all its animals for sacrifice, as nothing are all the nations before Him and in comparison they will be estimated as less than nothing and than what it's not". You understand?
The key to the power of the Christian is to focus on God, not to focus on crises, not to focus on problems, not to focus on the difficult situations we are going through, not even to focus on ourselves and our personal limitations , but to look at the mighty God that we have. That is the secret, brothers, of a life full of power. That is one of the most effective weapons that we have to live a successful life. It is keeping our gaze fixed on our God, filling ourselves so much with the awareness of who God is that when we look through our own eyes, we are looking through the eyes of God and we feel the same power and confidence that God has to remove any obstacle. to overcome any situation.
You remember the passage when Joshua and Caleb are sent with the 12 spies to the promised land, and when they return from the promised land, 10 of the spies gave a very negative report. The spies did not look and see that land flowing with milk and honey, they did not see the large clusters of grapes, a sign of great fertility in the land, but they saw those tribes that owned those lands that God had given to them. they, and they saw their great bodies and their strength and they saw their well-developed armies, and they saw their armor and their weapons very well prepared and they looked at themselves, having spent years and years in the desert, perhaps not as nourished as they were , not so well trained in warfare and they focused on the difficulties, they focused on the threats that were there, but Joshua and Caleb, the Bible says, that "in them was a spirit different from the other 10" and Joshua and Caleb looked where they had to look.
If you look in Numbers, Chapter 13, after all the different complaints from the people, it says that Caleb silenced the people in front of Moses and said: “let us go up later and take possession of them because more we can than them”, and then it says below, “the Israelites looking, says in verse 33 they said, and we were like locusts in our opinion”, that is, they were looking at themselves. But Joshua and Caleb were looking at the Lord.
If you also look in Deuteronomy, Chapter 1, in verse 28 it says “where shall we go up? Our brothers have terrified our hearts saying "this town is greater and higher than us, the cities are great and walled up to the sky, and we also saw the children of Anac there, so I told you: "Do not fear, nor be afraid of them . The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all that He did for you in Egypt, before your eyes.”
In other words, the Jews, the 10 spies were looking at things negatively, they looked at the greatness of the giants, they looked at the armies, they looked at themselves and saw themselves as insects before the greatness of the enemy, but Joshua and Caleb say: “but God is with us.” They looked at God, they looked at the Lord who had promised to accompany him, and said "we are not afraid, we are going to destroy, we are going to win", and therefore, brother, when you find yourself in a difficult situation, do not focus on him. problem. Focus on God who is faithful. God who is kind, God who is merciful. As you focus your gaze on Him, as you soak yourself in His presence, the power of God will enter your life, the confidence of the Lord will instill encouragement in you to confront any situation that you may encounter. The important thing, brothers, for the believer is precisely to always be focused on the person of the Lord.
Why do we take time to fast, take time to be vigilant? To some it may seem like a vigil... I have spoken with Meche about this in previous years and even this year, and we said: "the truth is that a rather large investment of time, it is 12 hours in this case, as we did this Friday, more after all the recovery time. Some may ask, is this worth it? And I believe that the benefit of spending time like this before the Lord is that we store up the power and glory of the Lord. When we are in the presence of God, when we spend time meditating on the Lord, praying, crying out, we become sponges that store and accumulate the power and grace of God within us. Our conscience is being renewed and then we can with more strength, with more encouragement, go out and confront the problems.
Why do we come to the house of God? A good part is to adore the Lord, to give Him glory and honor, but it is also to renew our awareness of the Almighty God whom we serve, it is to remind ourselves that we are members of the kingdom of eternity, that we are spirit, that battles are won with the spirit of the Lord. , that no matter how hard we work, no matter how hard we try, if the Lord does not build the house, those who build it work in vain. But if Jehovah builds the house, then we know that the house will remain and we then seek that renewal of awareness of God's power in our lives.
When you are going through difficult situations, difficulties, challenges in your life, look to your God. Don't focus on the problem. Do not focus on that persistent situation in your life. Don't focus on past failures. Do not focus on the greatness of the enemy, but think: "My God is much greater, and God is with me and I will win in his name."
When the Apostle Peter was a mere fisherman he found himself in a great storm with the other disciples and they cried out to the Lord and saw the Lord walking on the waters as a sign of his lordship, of his power. And Peter, as he had always anticipated, said to him: Lord, if it is you, have me walk towards you. And the Lord said to him: "Well, go ahead, Peter." And the word says that while Peter walked in faith, he walked on the waters but in one part of the story it says that when he began to see the storm that raged around him, he began to sink. He took his eyes off the Lord, concentrated on the problem, concentrated on the rational. He began to think: it's impossible, how can I be walking on the water with this huge storm, with these unstable waves? No one has ever done that, the Lord maybe can do it, but not me. And as he began to look at the situation, the circumstances, he lost his power and had to cry out to the Lord again and the Lord reached out to him and pulled him out so that he could effectively walk on the water.
We cannot look at the problem. We cannot be looking at how difficult the vision seems, perhaps God has put something in your life, a desire to move on and to improve yourself in some aspect of your life. Don't think: it's too big, it's too difficult. If God is with you, you can do anything. The Apostle Paul says that we can do everything in Christ Jesus. Do not look at the greatness of the difficulty, look at the greatness of the God who says "I am with you". The Lord Jesus Christ says: "Behold, I am with you always until the end of the world." I have seen many of you do wonderful things, Mark himself, that God is using him there in Honduras, I have seen his persistence through all these years. There have been times when there have been setbacks and things that we thought were going to happen, didn't happen, but this man has persisted and has been true to a vision and has stayed there, and we see how God is lifting him up, is lifting him up. blessing, you are giving what is needed for a successful ministry.
Yesterday I was speaking with a sister from the congregation, I have known her for many years and I have seen how this sister who has limitations with English, and already with two grown children and with a full-time job, and with many difficulties, how God motivated her to begin her studies, many years ago. And this woman yesterday told me: "Pastor, I'm already writing my thesis for my master's degree," listen, for your master's degree. And I told her: “Sister, I want to go to your PhD graduation one day too. The thesis that you are going to write at the end is going to be the doctoral thesis.” And I believe it, men might say impossible, but with God there is nothing impossible, brothers. The important thing is that people keep their gaze fixed on the greatness of the Lord, not on the difficulties, not on the problems. The Lord loves problems, because they are opportunities for Him to display His glory. And many times more, God will reduce our human capacity so that when He does the miracle, it is evident that He did it and that our faith can be increased.
While saying this, I looked at...... while talking about this precisely not because I hadn't even looked in that direction, here is another woman, I don't know why they are all women, because there are men that they also do great things and that God blesses them too, this morning someone prayed for me, actually here, a man of God, who came here to the church about three, four years ago, I don't remember. He arrived with one arm in a sling, like in a...... he had broken his arm and his arm was supported with something here, the fact is that this man, recently arrived at the church, we prayed for him. I felt the Lord say: “You are a warrior and God is going to raise you up, and God is going to do great things for you. It is brother Francisco, in fact. At that time his wife did not want to come to church, she told him: “if you think you are going to see me in that church, you are going to wait until you die because I am never going to go to church.” That woman is now filled with the holy spirit, she is a warrior of God, he comes, his children come here to church, we were in Israel together, this morning he prayed for me. I felt the blessing, he interceded for my life, he prophesied about my life, and it was a great blessing to me because God loves to lift what seems small, God makes it big and God puts it to bless others because the important thing is, brothers , that we fix our gaze on Him.
This person I was telling you about a moment ago recently went to his professional office and he showed me his wellfare card. Today he is a person who works in the world of medicine, I am not going to say much more than that. She has her office, she has a very nice house in one of the most select neighborhoods in the city of Boston and God is blessing her and she is prospering. And I've known her since she started going to university to get her professional degree. That is the God who blesses his people, brothers. That is the God for whom nothing is impossible. God can do. God loves to bring out of anonymity the person who has never done anything great. God wants to work in your life.
If you have a dream, if you have a vision, or if you have a problem, do not focus on the greatness of the difficulty, focus on the Almighty God who says: "the more you look towards me the more Power will run through you and the things that you will do will be greater, because I like to manifest my power through those who seek me.” Do not look, that is the word of God for your life on this day. Don't look at the difficulties, don't look at the chronic, the persistent of your problem. Keep your eyes focused on me and let your being in communion with me, my power can run through your life.
That is why I say, brothers, take time to seek the Lord, take time to be filled with the holy spirit. Salvation is free but the power of God requires brave, hard-working men and women. God loves people who strive and who are looking like miners for hidden gold so that God can use them for His glory and for the blessing of others. God wants to raise up a powerful people who have enough provision for everything they need in their life, for their family life, for their emotional life, for their relational life, for their financial life, for their work life, and then have enough. extra to give to another to be a blessing to others.
When Elijah came to ask for food, the widow of Sarepta told him: "Look, the only thing I have is a little bit of flour and a little bit of oil and we were going to make a cake to eat it myself and my son to die because we have nothing else left.” ElĂas told him: "Don't worry, look, give me first and you won't miss it." The woman obeyed and says the word of God that there was enough food for Elijah, for her and for her son in all the days that there was famine in the land. Because when God gives, God gives abundantly, because it doesn't matter that it seems impossible. The important thing is that you look at God. God gives you so that you eat in all areas of your life and so that you have enough for others as well. Because when God blesses, God gives in great quantity. Don't look at the problem, look at the God who is over the problem.
The Lord said to Peter: “Peter, cast your net for a fish”, and Peter said: “But, Lord, we have been fishing all night and we have not caught a single fish, but in your name, in your word I will cast the net." And the word says that when Peter cast the net in the name of Jesus, that net caught so many fish that they had to call other boats because their boat was sinking from so many fish that they took. Because when God gives, God gives abundantly. Because when Christ tells you to “cast the net”, even if you have not caught fish before, this time you are going to catch it because Christ is the one who is giving the word. When Christ tells you, look at Me, focus on Me, fill yourself with Me, fill yourself with My power and then let Me work through you. If we spent more time seeking the power of God and filling ourselves with God's anointing, we would have to spend less time working and then we could raise the building with words of "grace, grace", instead of suffering and suffering. Dare to spend more time seeking God, seeking power, seeking God's anointing. And you will see how much easier the things that now cost you so much work become.
I tell my daughters, especially Sonia, my eldest daughter who is studying at Harvard, I tell her: “Sonia, don't look at the academic difficulties, don't look at how difficult the such a big challenge Be sure to fill yourself with the power of God first. Be sure to set your eyes on Christ Jesus. Make sure you are strong enough spiritually. Because I tell you, brothers, when you have the power of God in your life, nothing becomes difficult. God makes things, they are done as if by magic. Others are there sweating and struggling and fighting and you go easy because God is with you, God blesses you, and if you are making an effort, God renews your strength in the very act of working, God blesses you and gives you more strength to keep going.
That is why it says here that the Lord gives strength to those who have none and multiplies the strength of others. In other words, even when there are things that require effort, the Lord will renew you. I see more and more of that every day. Sometimes people say: “you are going to burn out, you are working too much, this and that”. Look, I tell him “I feel happier now than 15 years ago when I had much less work. I feel with more energy, more strength, more encouragement to serve the Lord because I am looking for more of God's anointing in my life. And when we do that, we have to work less, God renews us on the spot. We are like those planes that fly and do not even have to stop to fill up with gasoline, in the air itself and can continue their journey. God wants to renew your life. God wants to bless you and give you more and more. You can work, you can make an effort, you can do many things. If you have a small mentality and you fear and doubt, here comes suffering, here comes failure, here comes burning, here comes sterility. But if you keep running with the Lord throughout your life, if you go again and drink the crystalline water of God's presence, you will renew yourself, you will move on, you will have more strength. Make sure you first seek the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all other things will come to you as a bonus.
Oh, brothers, if we only understood, if we could keep our eyes on the Lord before anything else. If we could fill ourselves with the presence of God, how easy things would be.
I leave you with this verse from Second Corinthians, Chapter 3, verses 17 and 18. It says there ".... because the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, for so much we all looking with unveiled face as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, we are transformed from glory to glory in the same image as by the spirit of God.”
You see, where the spirit of God is, where the presence of the Lord is, where the company of the spirit is, there comes freedom, there comes success, there comes the answer to the problem. But then he says ".... therefore we looking at the face of the Lord, we are transformed and the glory of the Lord becomes part of our glory." That is what he is saying here, and I believe that the writer of Second Corinthians, the Apostle Paul, is, I believe, making a slight reference to when Moses went up to the mountain and the Bible says that he was in the presence of the Lord for 40 days. . And what happened when Moses came down from the mountain? He says that his face reflected the glory of the Lord, his face reflected the brilliance of the glory of God before whom he had been for 40 days. And the glory of God was so great on the face of Moses, that he had to put on a sack because it inspired him fear, it was terrible, the presence of which he had soaked, being close, in intimacy with God for 40 days and 40 nights.
Because that is what happens when you are in the presence of God, when you are continually looking at the glory of God, when you are periodically renewing your eternal, spiritual, ultra-world consciousness. When you are reminding yourself that you are a child of God, that you do not run on merely human gasoline, your true food is not physical, material food, but your true food, as Jesus Christ said, is that you do the will of your Father, that you are in communion with your Father. When you understand this, you know what? The glory of God begins to fill your life mysteriously.
Brothers, every day more and more I understand very clearly that the growth of the believer is not given through teaching, although I believe in teaching, it is not given by reading good books, although I believe and am a avid reader of good books, I don't listen to sermons like this, although I think they have their uses, it happens when you go directly and eat and drink from the Lord's table directly.
When you seek the presence of God in your life, when you renew yourself in the presence of God because what happens many times is that life with its hustle and bustle and pain and fatigue and restlessness It is undermining you, it is weakening you, and each day that passes you become more and more a prisoner of time in the space of your human dimension and it seems that you are looking more and more down and around you and your consciousness becomes a horizontal consciousness, human, carnal, earthly, theological. And then you have to periodically go and heal yourself, heal yourself from that daily, temporary mentality.
And the only place where you can go is to the presence of the Lord so that He can take His cloth and remove all that scab, all that temporary human dust, wash your face with His word, with His presence and you can look at him again, and remember that He is with you, that you are a daughter of God, that you are a son of God, that you do not belong to this city, that there is a city not built by the hands of men that awaits you and that your destiny is an eternal destiny, and that your energy has to be an energy of the spirit, not the energy of men, that you win your battles with the power of God, not with your own strength, and that it is in the power of Christ running through you that you can raise wings like eagles, and soar through the air and defeat the giants that are in your life.
It's the power of God running through your life as you take your hand and reach out to Him and stick to Him and the electricity of Christ runs through you and destroys the yoke, destroys the oppression, destroy drought, destroy disease, and the glory of God may flow to heal your life. It is through that closeness, that intimacy. You have to seek that intimacy with God. You have to take time. You have to have the spiritual courage to take your eyes off the problem you are dealing with, for the more you try to handle it, the more you get like a stalled car in the mud, and you have to stop for a moment, get away from the problem and go to where your God so that your God deals with the problem for you and with you. That is the answer to every need.
The Lord Jesus Christ says "abide in me and I in you and you will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing." When you abide in Christ, when you look at the gloriousness of your God, see how powerful your God is, see how faithful your God is, see how kind God is. Remember that when you found yourself in a big bind once, and it didn't seem like anyone could solve it, the Lord did the miracle. Yes or no? How many of us can say that? How many of us can say I patiently waited for the Lord and he leaned down and heard my cry and made me get out of the pit of despair, out of the miry mud, put my feet on the rock, straightened my steps, and then put a new song in my mouth, praise our God? How many of us can say that? How many of us has God taken out of the desert? How many of us has God taken out of difficulties and the one who did it once does it again? Look at the Lord. Look at the Lord. Put your hope in the Lord. Renew your awareness of the proximity of God. Renew your awareness of your identity. You are not alone, you are not a product of coincidence. You are not a product of chance, of time, God created you in your mother's womb and has taken you out with a purpose, with a destiny, and God wants to bless your life and God wants to take you to the other shore because the good began. work, he will be faithful to finish it.
The Lord is speaking of grace, grace, grace, to his people, brothers. It is the time to celebrate because the husband is coming soon and it is not time to be barren and dry, but to celebrate and say: Father, thank you that you are coming soon and we can live a life of hope.
This morning when I arrived at the 12 o'clock service there was a young lady distributing roses, they are there, you have them. I did not ask her for that, this was not part of a program, but she felt in her heart to distribute roses to the brothers and in that I saw a prophetic word from God for us. Do you remember that 2 Sundays or 3 Sundays ago, towards the end of the service, there was a beautiful vase with lots of flowers here and in a moment of great celebration and enthusiasm, God motivated me to pick flowers and throw them at him and I did it because I felt the same way. Lord, which was a word that went very well with the preacher, had announced to us the God who sets us free, the God who blesses us, the God who is happy with us, the God who wants to take us to the place of delicate pastures and who wants to dress table before us, that we may eat and be merry in the presence of our enemies. The God who has great and good purposes for each of us.
And this morning I believe that in this gift of those flowers, God is saying to you: “look, I want to bless your life, I want to fill your life with hope. I am happy with you. I do not want to destroy you, quite the contrary, I want to give you life and a life with blessings and a future." You don't have to fear old age. You do not have to fear that you do not have a good retirement plan. You do not have to fear that you will be left alone. You do not have to fear that you are not married. Trust in your Lord who says “I am with you every day until the end of the world, don't worry about the future, don't worry about the bigness of the problem. Those flowers are signs of God's favor. God says grace for my people, blessing for my people, good intentions for my people. Don't look at your difficulties, don't look at your struggles, look at Me. I am faithful, I am with you. I bless you. I lift you up I give you victory. I won't let you be embarrassed. All the battles that you undertake in my name, I will give you victory, says the Lord. Stay glued to your God, keep your eyes on Him. Trust in the Lord. Fill yourself with the power of God.
Someone has said “don't curse the darkness, turn on a light”. It is time for the people of God to stop fighting against the negative. Fill yourself with the positive, and the positive will override the negative. When one turns on a light the darkness goes away, because the darkness has no life of its own. Darkness is simply the absence of light. When there is light, darkness automatically yields. When there is anointing, when the? of the holy spirit is in your life, when the presence of God is in your full life, the giants are struck down, the demons flee, the darkness subsides, the curtains of hell are drawn back and the presence of God can assert its power in your life. life. Fill yourself with the power of God. Fill your mind with..... look at God, don't worry about the failures of the past, says the Lord. Don't worry about the mistakes, the falls of the past, don't worry about the defeats of the past. Don't worry about past diagnoses. Believe in God's favor, mercy, goodness, power, awareness of your life, and don't you dare say “my way is already unknown to God. My cause has passed from God." God is still on the matter. God still wants to give you your miracle. God still wants to give you the victory that you need.
Get up and stand up and pick up that flower and if someone doesn't have it, please others, and some maybe can come here..... Be generous and share those flowers with others, if not have, share it with someone else. If you have more than one, I invite you, in the name of the Lord, to do so as an act of generosity. Do you know why? Because the more we give, the more we are blessed. What we have is not only for ourselves but for others. Share it. Share it in the name of the Lord. Dare to share and lift that up, because that is God's favor for his people, that is God's blessing for us. Up there too, we say “our God has good things for us, our God has good purposes for us. The best is yet to come. The best wine is yet to be served, brothers. The best delicacy, God has it reserved for us yet. Hallelujah! The greatest visitation from God of all time is still missing. I believe it, here in Massachusetts where the devil seems to be walking over the Christians, right here the Lord is going to humiliate him, and here we are going to see the glory of God manifested. Because it is not the greatness of the giant, it is the greatness of the God whom we serve. Hallelujah!.
And God will not allow his people to be put to shame. Sometimes God precisely allows the enemy to appear big and the lion to appear as if he is going to eat us and that he is going to knock us down and that he is going to crush us, so that when God's power comes out it will be manifest. Nothing can stand against God. The gates of hell will not prevail against the church, says the Lord. Believe it this afternoon, the Lord is encouraging you, the Lord is blessing you, the Lord is anointing you, and God's favor is there for your life, for this congregation, for each family represented here, for each home represented here, for every problem the devil wants to embarrass us with it. We say "grace".
Everyone say “grace, grace, grace, grace of God. Grace in my life. Grace in my community. Grace in my city. Grace in my family. Grace with my children. Grace with my life. Grace with my finances. Grace with my health. Hallelujah!. Grace with my spirit. Grace to the people of God says Hallelujah! It is with the grace of God manifested in our lives, that awareness of God in our life. We give you glory Lord. We look at you, Father this afternoon. We celebrate who you are. We do not look at ourselves, we do not look at men, we do not look, Lord, at the big ones in the problem, we do not look at the threats that move around our heads, we look at our God. We look at you, eternal God. merciful father. God of love and kindness. God you have always loved your children. God, you sent Jesus so that we might have life and have it abundantly. God, you sent Jesus to rescue what was lost, to take the vile and heal and cleanse it, to shed precious blood so that no one could accuse us because you are the one who has justified us through the blood of your son.
We adore and bless you, Lord. Forgive our disbelief. Forgive our lack of faith. Forgive the evil scenarios that we sometimes allow the devil to throw on our conscience. We neutralize all that, Lord and we stick to you, we are filled with your glory, we look at you, we consider you, Jesus. We consider you only Lord. You have said "I have overcome the world" and we can also win because you have won and will win through us. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus. We adore you and we bless you Lord. We celebrate that.
