My dear brothers, may the Lord bless you. I want to share with you a passage from the Book of Proverbs in Chapter 3. The word of the Lord says: "My son, do not forget my law and your heart keep my commandments, because length of days and years of life and peace will increase you . Mercy and truth never depart from you. Tie them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart and you will find grace and good opinion in the eyes of God and men.”

What wonderful advice the Book of Proverbs gives us, a book devoted to the subject of wisdom. The Lord inspired the wise Solomon to write many of the proverbs and advice found in this book of wisdom. And here at the very beginning of the book we are called to pay attention and reverence and obey the word of God.

Let me tell you that the very foundation of a successful life is to be guided by the principles and fundamentals found in the Bible, which is God's revelation to humanity. If you want to be successful in life, if you want to live a fruitful life and a life of peace and triumph, you must treasure the word of the Lord. God has left Scripture so that through it we can have access to his mind and understanding. God created the world and was not content to simply order the universe and create humanity and then leave it to fend for itself, but left His revelation written down through the centuries by men inspired by the holy spirit who wrote under divine revelation, these teachings and these tips for practical life, which is called the Bible, the word of the Lord. And we can go to it with complete confidence, with complete certainty that we will find a word of advice for any situation that we can find, and not only advice, but good advice, solid advice that we do not have to doubt, whether it is correct or incorrect. , or if it is something old-fashioned or if it applies to the current time. The word of the Lord is perfect, the word of God says it is alive and effective and sharper than any two-edged sword.

The Bible says that the word of God penetrates to divide the spirit from the flesh and that all things are revealed before it. That is to say that when we approach the word of the Lord we can do so with the confidence that in it we will find wisdom for all situations in life. Now, we have to learn how to interpret the Bible and that is why it is so important that we go to church, that we listen to messages, that we take Bible study classes because in this way we can learn to interpret this wonderful book for ourselves. There is no substitute for going directly to the word of the Lord. One can read many books of advice and psychology, and practical life or how to have better human relationships, but in reality there is no substitute for one going directly and personally eating the word of the Lord.

And it is that the word of God has a unique quality and that is that it is the very revelation of God and the holy spirit and the energy of God are in this very word. As we ingest her advice, and when we enter into a dialogue with her, and let that word penetrate our minds, our hearts, our feelings, that word is doing a powerful work in our lives. And that is why the Bible says that the word of God is alive and effective. In other words, that word has life in itself and is capable of imparting its life to us when we ingest it, when we come into contact with it and make our daily meditation of it. And this is wonderful, the word of the Lord has energy for our lives. And when that word penetrates our heart, when it penetrates our spirit, the Bible says that the word of God never returns to Him empty, but does everything for which it was sent. That is to say, when the Bible enters our hearts, when we read it and meditate on it, the purpose that God has for having given that word is fulfilled in us. It is not possible for a human being to come into contact with the word of God and not come out transformed.

If you make the Bible your daily meditation, if you treasure it, if you give it the attention it deserves, God is going to do wonderful works in you. The same Book of Proverbs in the Chapter before the one we just read, in Chapter 2, says: “My son, if you receive my word and my commandments, keep within yourself, making your ear attentive to wisdom, if you eat You will seek silver, and search for it as for treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and you will find the knowledge of God, then you will understand justice, judgment and equity and every good way.

That is, when we treasure that word of the Lord, if we give ourselves, it says here: “.... if you make your ear attentive, if you incline your heart, if you cry out for intelligence, if you seek it like silver Or you scrutinize it as if it were a treasure. It all depends on the attitude you take towards the word of God. If you think that it is another book simply written by pious men thousands of years ago, but that already has very little relevance, very little validity and very little to say about the events of modern life today. If you doubt or approach the word of God with indifference or lukewarmness, that word will not speak to you in the same way as if you receive it for what it is, the word of God, God's revelation to man.

If God took the time and energy to create the world and put humanity on the surface of the earth, how could he not also leave us his written revelation so that we can guide ourselves through it. Through the Bible we have the way to approach God, how to please him, how to establish a relationship with him, how to avoid displeasing or disobeying him. Certainly it is impossible for a man or a woman to know how to relate to God unless God has told them and how are we going to know how to relate to God if not through his revelation.

So this is one of several posts I'm going to dedicate to the subject of God's word. And what I want to leave with you on this day is that reverence for the word, so that you understand that if you are a child of God, if you consider yourself a believer in Jesus Christ, it is important that you have a very deep, very intimate relationship. with the Bible, with the word of God. There are so many Christians who call themselves believers but do not know the Bible, do not know how to read it, do not know about its commandments, do not know about the characters that the Bible describes, do not know the spiritual principles that should govern their lives, do not know the why of the things they believe, but have simply received these things, these beliefs, in a very superficial way but they are weak Christians, superficial Christians because they do not have a deep knowledge of the word of the Lord.

I want to challenge you on this day to understand that you can never become the man or woman of God that your heavenly Father wants you to be, unless you do not treasure the word of God, unless you do not study, unless you do not scrutinize it every day, unless you do not make it the very foundation of your life. This word can save, this word has power and it is important that you scrutinize it and give it the importance it deserves. I want to challenge you on this day to give your heart and get ready to study the word of the Lord. Don't be content to just be a superficial Christian, give the Lord time to reveal His will in your heart.

The psalmist said: “my portion is Jehovah, I have said that I will keep your words”, he also said “Oh how much I love your law, all day it is my meditation.

I want to invite you on this day to make the word of the Lord your meditation. May God bless you and we will continue to talk about the Bible, the word of God in our next program.
