Summary: When faced with difficult tasks or decisions, we should ask God for wisdom and guidance. He promises to give it abundantly to those who ask in faith. The Holy Spirit is our instructor and will lead us to truth. We should humble ourselves and trust in God's promise to provide us with the light we need.
The first thing I look for when I have a need or a difficult task in my life is to ask for enlightenment: "Lord, give me wisdom; give me the strategy." I believe in a God who speaks, a God who illuminates, who tells us where we have to walk.
We must ask the Lord for wisdom. The Apostle James says in James chapter 1, "If anyone lacks wisdom" - What should he do? - "Ask God, who gives abundantly, and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
In that promise there is a total simplicity. If there is something that I know that I will receive from God if I ask it, it is wisdom. Other things may not be for my good, and if I ask for them it is possible that the Lord will not grant them to me. But wisdom never hurts, it never produces negative results. Always blesses and enlightens; always leads to good things. That is why we can trust that if we ask the Lord for it, we will always receive it.
God promises in Psalm 8:32, "I will make you understand, and I will teach you the way you should walk." The writer of Proverbs declares: "For the Lord gives wisdom, And from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He provides wholesome wisdom to the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly" (Prov. 2: 6 and 7) .
The Holy Spirit is the Instructor par excellence. The Bible says that he will lead us to all truth. Believe; Ask the Lord for wisdom, and humble yourself. Ask in faith, believing that promise that He will abundantly give you what you ask! Say, “Lord, the truth is that I don't have what I need. My understanding is empty. I have a complex path ahead of me, and I don't know how to cross it. "
God will not allow you to be put to shame. He himself calls us to trust Him: If we cry out, He will answer us and provide us with the light we need. "If you cry out to understanding, And give your voice to understanding; If you seek it like silver, And search for it as for treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will find the knowledge of God" (Prov. 2: 3 -5).
