The person who pleases God will always be blessed

The Scriptures show us over and over again that God has nothing against material prosperity. On the contrary, we continually see in people like Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Solomon, that when a person pleases God, His blessing is often accompanied by material prosperity. That is one of the constant promises of the word of God. God's blessing is global, comprehensive. It covers all dimensions of life — material, spiritual, social, emotional, relational. The Shalom of God covers all aspects of the life of the son or daughter of God, providing that abundant life that Christ clearly came to give us. Psalm 128 underscores this truth in simple but poetic words:

1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways.

2 When you eat the work of your hands, blessed will you be, and it will be well with you.

3 Your wife will be like a vine that bears fruit on the sides of your house; Your children like olive plants around your table.

4 Behold, thus shall the man who fears Jehovah be blessed.

We well know that in the life of the son or daughter of God, despite loving and obeying the Lord, trials and difficulties can also come. Sometimes suffering will even be part of God's benevolent work, polishing and perfecting his children to more fully impart the character of his Son, so that they bear more fruit and be more useful for his work (John 15: 2 ).

But the net result of that complex process will always be positive. The person who fears Jehovah will certainly be blessed, and he will be able to look forward with great expectation of seeing God's blessing at every stage of his life's journey. "For I know the thoughts that I have about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end you hope for" (Jeremiah 29:11).
