Summary: God is pleased with those who are determined and committed to Him, but is displeased with those who are indecisive and fluctuating. The Church in Laodicea had many material resources but was spiritually decrepit, lacking commitment and consecration. God desires a red-hot spirituality, thirsty for His power and presence, and requires a dedicated life and total commitment. The gifts of the Spirit and the power of God require an environment and attitude of decision and consecration to be fully manifested. Those who remove doubts and live with eyes focused on eternity will experience God's power and effectiveness. God is waiting for a determined and consecrated people to show His power for and through them.

Determined people always move the heart of God. On the other hand, the indecisive and fluctuating causes him displeasure. The apostle James says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let no one do so think that he will receive anything from the Lord ”(James 1: 7 and 8).

Apparently, the Church believers in Laodicea had many material resources — financially strong congregations, and with influential members. But spiritually they were decrepit. There was much worldliness in the Body, and a lack of decisiveness and clarity regarding the call to holiness and consecration to the Lord.

In his letter to the churches, the Lord Jesus Christ, through the apostle John, warns the Church in Laodicea: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were hot or cold! But because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth ”(Revelation 3:15 and 16). Evidently, lack of commitment and consecration, spiritual pride, superficiality of spirit, were immensely offensive to the Holy Spirit. In reality, God viewed this church as "wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked." A devastating spiritual verdict!

I wonder how many churches today God sees in the same way. Your requirements have not changed. We may be very comfortable in our state of fold and comfort, but in God's eyes, we do not deserve to be channels of his power or his holiness. The only thing that pleases Him is a red-hot spirituality, thirsty for His power and His presence. It requires a dedicated life, a total commitment, a 180 degree turn. We must say goodbye to the behavior of the past, and keep our eyes firmly focused on the new lifestyle that God has destined for us.

The gifts of the Spirit, the power of God, require an environment and an attitude of decision and consecration to be fully manifested. That is the raw material that the Spirit uses to channel his power on earth, and impart power and effectiveness to the interventions of his Church for Evangelism and Christian service.

The people who receive their miracles from God, who live a life of power and effectiveness, are the ones who have removed all doubts and doubts from their hearts, have thrown themselves desperately into the arms of the Lord, have died to the world and the demands. of the flesh, and live life with eyes resolutely focused on eternity. God is waiting for a determined and consecrated people to show his power for and through them. "So if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be an instrument of honor, sanctified, useful to the Lord, and ready for every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21).
