Summary: The woman with the issue of blood had a very serious and shameful disease that left her isolated from society. However, she took a great risk and approached Jesus with faith, breaking the Mosaic law. Her desperation and faith led to a miraculous healing. The story teaches us to have faith and take risks, trusting that God will support us in our desperate situations. We should always turn to God as our first option for solutions, even if it takes a long time to find them. We should also share the good news of Christ's provision with others who may be suffering.

The woman with the issue of blood changed the Lord's agenda. What made the difference was that great faith she had that the Lord could heal her. When we exercise that same kind of faith and desperate passion, and dare to take risks trusting in the mercy and Power of God, God is always ready to meet our need and will never reject us because we dared to approach Him.

Here in Luke chapter 8 in verse 43 it says that: "This woman who had had an issue of blood for 12 years." The flow of blood was a very terrible feminine affliction, especially in those times. It was a very small gradual bleeding that made a woman who could not stop this slight flow of blood in her intimate parts, first of all, suffered from a very shameful disease, secondly, that continuous escape of blood left her very weak because she practically bled and it lost energy, lost hemoglobin and lost strength, and therefore it was a disease that had a very strong effect on the body of the person.

But one of the most terrible things about this disease was that in the Mosaic law, a woman who was menstruating was not even supposed to touch her husband because touching him with that flow of blood made him unclean, and this woman who technically She was also menstruating although that was not actually the problem but the condition was technically the same, then she fell into that category of impure woman and therefore, the most difficult social consequence was that this woman had to stay away from any human contact because her touch made anyone she approached impure, so the idea was that this woman had to live in isolation as a leper. She could not approach where there were crowds, the law forbade her to do so because it was almost like a crime, she was making all the people she touched impure.

And this is important that we understand not only because of the seriousness of the disease, which highlights the Power of Jesus, but also because of the desperation of his action, because just like those other characters who broke the roof of the house that did not belong to them to get closer to Jesus this woman also violates the Mosaic law to get closer to Jesus.

And I think this is one of the most important things, right? that many times we find ourselves in desperate situations and we need an intervention from God, and there are times when an action full of daring and faith in the Lord can open some very amazing channels of the Power of God, then we see that God expects that sometimes Let us undertake acts of great faith, of great risk, but trusting that the Lord will move us forward.

We cannot do that all the time but we do have to ask the Lord for discernment of times when we may have to go to an office and ask for consideration from an officer or do something that perhaps is unconventional believing that the Lord is going to support us because it is the only option and if we don't do that then we lose the battle, and sometimes those desperate actions have to be taken and the Lord supports us.

It makes me think of that text of Scripture that says: "He will send his angels near you to keep all your ways." He says that the Lord will not allow our foot to stumble on a stone because on his wings he will carry us. When we jump into the abyss by a measure of faith that God puts in us, the Lord sends His angels to take us and not crash into rocks because God is merciful, and this woman took a great risk by doing this. I believe that many times depending on the risk we take, depending on how desperate our action is, so will the power of God's move in our favor.

So this woman suffered from an issue of blood but she also says that 12 years ago, what these details do is that they paint a picture of how desperate the situation was. First place, 12 years old, second place, she is already tired of her physical and social suffering. I wonder, 12 years old, why did God allow so much time to pass?

Many times we go through situations of long grief, long suffering. Year after year we have had an illness or a marital situation, or a financial condition and we have looked for all kinds of solutions, and sometimes it seems that God is not informed or does not care about our condition, but God has a plan.

We have benefited from knowing that this woman spent so much time but did not give up her motivation, did not despair, did not throw in the towel, kept looking, kept knocking on doors. It says here that no doctor could help her but on the contrary, her situation got worse, says another passage. Many times we look for the solution in men and in human circumstances, but only God has the solution on many occasions. God has to be our first and last option.

It is a pity that this woman waited until the last moment but of course, it was at that time that she learned about the person of Jesus, and that reminds us: how important it is that we tell people, let them know that Christ has the solution for their problems, because many times people are suffering from all kinds of difficult situations but they do not know that in Christ they can reach the solution and the provision they need.

Then this woman, already at the end of her patience and of the possibilities of getting out of her situation, finally approaches the one who has the solution and His Name is called Jesus Christ. May the Lord wish that we always have Him as the first option to resolve our situations, that we go to Him in prayer, that we seek advice in His Word, that we go to our elders or the Church and ask for prayer and intercession, that we unite to other believers to cry out and knock on the Lord's doors, because He is powerful to intervene and to solve all our needs. God bless you, until our next meditation.
