Summary: The popularity of a ministry is often an indication of the power of God present in that ministry. People are drawn to places where they can experience the manifestations of God. The most theologically developed and sophisticated ministries are not always the most popular with people because the power of God often resides in places where there is faith, prayer, humility, and dedication to God. It is important for a ministry to maintain a balance between seeking and declaring the power of God and adhering to sound doctrine and healthy teaching. Jesus was oppressed by the multitude which is an indication of the power that was in Him and that we must also imitate in our ministries.

In this segment I am going to focus on the whole case of the woman with the flow of blood. When the Lord is on his way to Jairo's house, at the moment we are told that, while He was going in that direction "the crowd was oppressing Him", and it is important to stop on that detail right?

The Ministry of the Lord Jesus was a very popular ministry, He had a time of great popularity where people were continually looking for Him because He did works of power, because He was a new and different prophet, because He fed the multitudes, because He was as well as a radical prophet who questioned the prevailing systems, and this attracted him great popularity and great attention, then the crowds followed him and this point is interesting, right? that where there is a solid message people will come to that place.

The Pharisees and Sadducees did not have this charism that the Lord Jesus Christ had because they only had empty religiosity, the rite, they had the system but they did not have the Power of God. The crowds followed Jesus Christ because He had the power to heal, to anoint, to declare God's Truth, and also to express God's mercy and compassion for the poor.

The people will always look for the manifestations of God. I see theologians and people very educated in Christianity who are always complaining about the preachers and the Pastors where many people go, and sometimes they accuse them that: they are very popular because they are distorting the Gospel and they are selling lies to the people about prosperity and blessing the people and that is why people follow them, because they are charlatans, because they are demagogues, because they exploit the emotions of the people, but in reality I think that is a simplification of a reality much more complex.

The truth is that the people know as a collective mass where the Power of God is, where the life of the Kingdom of God is and the people are going to go to those places. It is interesting that many times the most theologically developed and sophisticated ministries and the pastorates that are, I don't know, I would say, as more subtle and more ordered, many times they are the ones that are less popular with the people, and it is not only because people do not know discern good from evil.

Many times it is simply because in those places where the naked Power of God is where perhaps sometimes there is not much sophistication, there is not much human wisdom, there for some reason the Power of God resides because there is faith, because there is to give glory to the Lord Because there is a prayer that pleases the Lord, because there is often humility and dedication to God, and because God, as we said, right? honors the humble and simple of heart.

Where there is an innocent mind open to the Power of God, where people are seeking the move of God, there the Power of God is going to flow and God is going to do extraordinary things. So the popularity in the ministry although it is not necessarily an indication like that, let's say, totally reliable about the solidity and integrity of a ministry does often indicate a correlation, right? between the Power of God and that popularity, and the influx of people to those ministries.

In my own life I always ask the Lord to keep me balanced, to allow me and my Church to maintain a balance between seeking and declaring, and putting on display the healing and provider power of God, and also maintaining a sound doctrine , an adherence to the Word of God, a balance between healthy teaching and theology, and also an openness to the strange ways in which the Power of God often manifests itself. I believe that when we maintain that balance we will see that there is blessing, there is progress, there is growth, there is support from God for that type of ministry.

But then we see here right? that this multitude that oppressed Jesus that we see many times through the Gospels is an indication of the power that was in the Lord and that we must also imitate in our ministries, that type of effectiveness and approach to the effective power of God. God bless you, until our next meditation.
