Summary: Jabes asked the Lord to expand his territory and bless him with His hand upon him. The hand of God refers to His power and protection over our lives. To undertake great things with divine support and authority, we need God's power and anointing. The Christian life is a life of power, requiring powerful interventions from God. We need to cultivate the power of God through prayer, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and boldness. The mindset of the children of God should be one of power, knowing that powerful interventions and faith are needed to succeed in life.
Jabes asked the Lord to expand his territory. God wants us to occupy more space, to undertake new things, not to be content with a mediocre and limited life but to dare to things and to sow, to invest and to live an entrepreneurial life because God blesses.
Remember what he also said to Josué: "Look, I command you to make an effort and be brave because I will be with you wherever you go." There is also enclosed that Word of blessing that Jabes asks the Lord, right? "If you would give me a blessing" and since the blessing of God is on him then he can dare to expand his territory, these two things are linked as we can see.
The third thing that Jabes asks the Lord: "And if Your hand were with me." When I think of that expression "and if Your hand were with me" there the key word that comes to my mind is "hand" right? Because the Hand of God refers to the Power of God over your life, the Hand of God refers to protection.
For example when the Bible says that: "God brought the Israelites out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm." The Hand of the Lord, His Arm refers to the interventions of the Power of God that can be defensive interventions to defend his chosen ones or they can be active interventions to defeat enemies, to open a way for them, to remove obstacles in front of them and to ensure that they have in their march in life.
So when Jabes asks the Lord: "If Your hand were with me" he is asking "if Your Power was over my life, if Your anointing", that anointing that is required to undertake great things with divine support and authority.
We need God's authority to support us in our companies and projects, that His Power and His Hand be with us in everything. That is why the Lord Jesus Christ told the disciples before ascending to heaven to stay in Jerusalem until they receive power from on high, because in the Christian life, in the life of this world that we children of God live we need the Power of God , that force that characterizes the Kingdom of God when the Word that the Kingdom of God moves with violence, moves with dynamism.
Only people who have that affinity with the Kingdom of God, daring people, diligent people, dynamic, enterprising people can grasp the attributes of the Kingdom of God and benefit from them.
I believe that all this is implied in the expression of Jabes "if your hand were with me." He is saying that the Christian life, the life of God's children, is a life of power, a dynamic life, a life that requires powerful interventions from God. We have to cultivate the power of God through prayer, we have to cultivate the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we have to cultivate authority and boldness. The mindset of the children of God should be a mindset of power, a mindset that knows that interventions are required to get things done and that power orientation in the Christian life, not simply of knowledge or mere theory but of powerful interventions and The faith that is needed is very important to be successful in life and I want all of us to cultivate that aggressive mentality, that mentality of power to which that expression of Jabes invites us "if Your hand were with me."
God bless you, until our next meditation.
