Summary: A life of prayer transforms the mind and heart, affirms faith, and materializes it, making evident the work of the Holy Spirit. When we pray, we speak to the Father in the name of the Son, and the Spirit is present. Christians who live a life of prayer are joyful, calm, pious, and loving towards their neighbor. On the other hand, Christians who frequently display anger, insufferability, and uncontrolled actions need prayer, as it is an obvious sign that they lack a prayerful life. A life of prayer renews communion with the Father and the brothers of faith, molds character, and fuses divine perspectives onto the mold of Christ's character. To pray, we must believe, and if faith does not fan prayer, it may turn into a simple speech of words. The life of prayer beautifies the face, illuminates the Christian's path, and transforms the heart.

When you see a Christian joyful, calm, slow to anger, pious and loving towards his neighbor, you can be sure that you are in the presence of a person who prays, who walks in the Spirit and who abides in the Lord. The Christian who lives a life of prayer beautifies his countenance and the peace of God overflows visibly in all his action. A life of prayer transforms the mind and the heart, affirms the faith and materializes it, making evident the work of the Holy Spirit. We pray to the Father in the name of the Son and when we speak with the Son, the Father is present and the Spirit is present as well.

On the contrary, when you see a Christian frequently angry, insufferable, irascible, frantic and uncontrolled in his actions, pray for him or her, because that is an obvious sign that he does not have a life of prayer and those sins do not They let you prosper spiritually, it has not produced spiritual fruit in your Christian life, or it does bear fruit seasonally, depending on the circumstances and the times. If all goes well, they bear fruit; If it seems that everything is going wrong, even knowing that God is in control of all things, they do not bear fruit. Love, joy, peace, faith, goodness, ... and self-control emerge like the muses, that is to say from time to time, only when occasional “inspiration” is sought in the Christian life and everyone around seems to smile.

But God blesses children who understand the need to pray in all times and places, with reasons that build character and glorify their name. Prayer does not save, prayer itself is nothing compared to the immense need felt by being connected to the Lord in thought and devotion. A life of prayer renews communion with the Father and with the brothers of the faith. Do you remember the hysterical show that the Pharisee put on in front of the publican? (Luke 18.11). When we are permanently connected with the Father, what God himself says in his Word is fulfilled: “… Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Mt 12.34). The mouth only speaks, but it is the heart that dictates the words that come from the Spirit.

The life of prayer tends to mold the character and to fuse the divine perspectives of the godly man onto the mold of the character of Christ himself.

It is true that when we are babies in Christ we are afraid to pray (in public). "Let Manuel pray, who has been in the gospel for years and knows how to pray beautifully", he frequently exclaims. The pastor stands up and says, "We ask Sister Maria to pray for ..." and Maria begins to tremble from head to toe. It is logical ... and even necessary to go through those moments that will never be forgotten. But remember, God does not take into account whether the prayer is anointed with biblical verses or with a perfect “Christian”, but rather the heart that pours it out with sincerity and reverent submission. "... We do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspeakable groans" (Ro 8.26). What a comfort to us!

To pray you have to believe. "That is why I say to you: Believe that you have already received everything that you are asking for in prayer, and you will get it." (Mark 11:24)

If faith does not fan the prayer, it may turn into a simple speech of words that come to mind and are declared automatically. The prayer that is born from the heart elevates our humanity to a spiritual plane in which the face of God is perceived. The Bible says that when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Tablets of Law, a beam of light came from his face for having spoken with God himself (Exodus 34.29). As Jesus prayed on the Mount of Transfiguration, his face was transformed and his clothing became white and radiant. (Lk 9.29).

The life of prayer beautifies the face, illuminates the Christian's path and transforms the heart. Let our mouths declaim praise and glory to the one who lives forever!

God bless your Word!
