Summary: The secret place of prayer is a spiritual place where we can spend quality time in the presence of God. It should be a lifestyle, not just something we do when we need something from God. It's not about using fancy words, but coming with a contrite and humbled heart. Esther and Joseph are examples of people who entered the secret place of prayer and received answers from God. Jesus also entered the secret place of prayer and received strength from God. We should approach God with faith and pray without ceasing, not just when we need something.
The secret place of prayer is a spiritual place chosen to spend quality time in the presence of God, in intimate communion. And this should not be when affliction assails us or when we yearn for a favor from God. It is necessary that prayer be a lifestyle within the people of God.
It is in the presence of the Lord where we will receive strength, power and strength to be able to overcome the ties of life. We do not need to use eloquent words or try to imitate anyone but we do need to come with a contrite and humbled heart which God will not despise. Psalm 51:17
The secret place of prayer is nothing more than an attitude of the heart, it is not even the physical position we adopt, it is the position of the heart, with humility of spirit, recognizing the presence of whom we are before, An Almighty God, Thrice Holy , and who knows the intentions of the heart of man. In the Bible we find countless examples of people who learned to enter the Secret and intimate place of God and obtained individual and corporal answers as in the situation of Mordecai and Esther, which did not need a quick intervention of God only for their lives. but for all the Jewish people who were scattered throughout the empire of Persia.
Esther, a humble young woman, orphan of the captives of Israel, had only the support of a cousin Mordecai. At the mercy of her beautiful qualities she manages to join the family of the nobility whose character overcomes adverse circumstances until she reaches the throne of the nation that oppressed her people. Faced with the challenge that this woman has in front of her, she learned to enter into the very presence of the Lord and find grace and favor from God in a dire situation. Because he knew how to enter the secret place of intimacy with God.
In Genesis chapter 39 we find the story of a young man full of dreams and talents, abused and rejected for selfish reasons who had every reason to be full of bitterness, hurts and anger, we read in Genesis chap. 42 how he was restored and placed in the place of honor. His brothers, the very ones who had abused and betrayed him, came to him to buy grain during times of famine, that could be a wonderful opportunity for revenge but he chose to forgive them. Where did you find that grace to forgive them? In the secret place with God receiving a deep impartation of grace and forgiveness.
The maximum example is found in Jesus Christ, being God himself, he entered the intimate secret place of prayer in the most difficult moments of his ministry; but he submitted his request to the sovereign will of his father And as a result of that humility God gave him a name that is above all names (Phil 2: 9)
Our God listens to our requests and although he does not answer many times as we want we can be confident that when we approach the throne of grace he responds to each of our requests.
Remember to approach in faith; because doubt and faith do not work together, one of the two has to flee and we make the choice.
Praying without ceasing is not that we pray continuously day and night, the idea is not to disconnect from the Lord; In the midst of our daily activities, we can address him frequently with a word that glorifies his name and exalts his power.
May the God of all Grace help us to live in intimate communion with him at all times!
