Summary: The Shunammite woman prepared a room for the prophet Elisha to stay in whenever he passed by her house. She kept the room clean, furnished it with a lamp, table, and chair, and left it reserved for the Lord to visit. Even though weeks or months passed without the prophet staying in the room, she did not lose hope and continued to keep the room prepared. This is a spiritual lesson for us to not get discouraged if God's call on our lives has not yet materialized. We should keep our lives and souls prepared, with our lamps burning and our hearts clean, and wait for God to visit us in His own time. Like Joseph, who was given a dream by God and then sent on a journey of preparation, we should stay prepared for God's call to be realized in our lives.

In this next episode of the meeting between Elisha and the Shunammite we see that this woman has prepared a space for the prophet to stay there so that he can stay there when he passes by her house, and the Bible says in verse 11 of Second Kings Chapter 4 that: "It so happened that one day he came over there and stayed in that room, and slept there."

In other words, this woman prepared the room and did the construction, put all the things that she had to put to furnish the prophet's bedroom, and I imagine that weeks passed, perhaps months passed, and even the prophet passed through the house but did not know. He had still remained in the room until one day in particular the prophet decided to stay in this place that had been prepared for him.

And this has always struck me as a spiritual lesson, and that is that many times we can offer our lives to the Lord for Him to use. Many of us have felt a deep call from God and understand in an instinctive way that God wants to use us in some way or we ourselves have conceived a great desire to be used by the Lord and have offered our lives to the Lord, we have prepared our own life, we have taken discipleship classes in the Church, we have even entered a seminary or a Bible institute, we are diligent in our life of service to the Lord, but still God has not made that visit in a deliberate and strong way in our life to bring us to the level that we feel God wants to use us.

And how important it is that we do not get discouraged, that we do not get discouraged, that we do not stop having that room, so to speak, prepared, clean, reserved for the Lord to visit us in due course and do His Work in our lives.

The Shunammite had that room there, that bedroom prepared for the prophet and that for me is a meaning of the soul, of the man and the woman that is well prepared, well furnished with a lamp that can be the Word of God, which says "lamp Your Word is at my feet and a light on my path "which is a symbol of that place where God, the Holy Spirit can feel comfortable and rest, a table and a chair where the prophet could sit; In other words, a place where God can lean on, where He can sit and do what He has to do in our life, where He can give us instructions, where He can write His Words and His instructions in our life, so to speak, this woman furnished very Well that place, he left it prepared, and one day the Spirit of God through the prophet Elisha decided to honor his offering and rest on it.

I want you to meditate on that. If God has called you to your life and that call has not yet materialized, do not stop keeping your lamp burning, do not stop keeping your life, your soul clean and prepared, do not be discouraged and throw in the towel because one day it may May the Lord come into your life, visit you and that is all you need.

Let's not lose the opportunity for God to do what He wants to do in our life because it has taken too long. Many times the words that God puts in our hearts, the concerns, the calls he puts there and only a long time later when He has fulfilled His purpose in us and has finished preparing us, when the circumstances are propitious, then only comes the call to be realized in our life and meanwhile our task is simply to stay prepared.

I see that on many occasions God called His servants and then sent them on a journey like the case of Joseph where he gave him a dream, where he clearly told him what he was going to be: a great man of God, a powerful man with authority. , his brothers and his parents were going to bow before him, but then after that call, through a dream God sends him to Egypt and there he enters a whole journey of preparation of his character, of his faith, the circumstances in Egypt is preparing, the life of Pharaoh is being positioned to place Joseph in the position where God years before had already said He would take him.

Even the circumstances themselves seemed to deny what God had told Joseph because instead of going up it seemed that his life was going down, but everything was a preparation and at the right moment Joseph is called from jail, presented before Pharaoh and he then enters the full use of his ministerial calling.

So do not lose the call, do not lose hope, if God has said something to your life, keep that lamp burning until He does His perfect Will and carries out the call He has placed on your spirit. This Shunammite woman came to the day when this room that she had prepared for the prophet would finally be inhabited by the servant of God and great things were to happen in her life as we will see in our next meditation.

May the Lord bless you and may His grace be with you.
