Summary: The author's husband was diagnosed with cancer and despite their efforts to save him, he passed away. She learned to trust in God's sovereignty and perfect will, even in difficult situations. Her pastor's wise words helped her overcome the pain and see that her husband's soul is now in the presence of the Lord. She encourages others to lean on God's grace and remember that our citizenship is not of this world. She chooses to pray like a bride dressed for her husband, Jesus Christ.
Often we as Christians when we go through difficult situations we want the Lord to answer our prayers that we send them many times a little agitated, wanting his quick intervention; because we do not want to go through any difficult situation and we forget that in the world we will have afflictions: many things that we do not understand, we just have to believe and trust that our God is sovereign and he is in control. And we still do not receive the answer that we hope he hears us.
My husband was diagnosed with cancer at a very advanced stage, we did everything possible to improvise his health. Prayer and faith in the Lord ranked first in all our actions. We seek all kinds of medical help. Despite all our efforts that same year the Lord called him into his presence.
For me it was very sad to be by his side waiting to see his last breath and even in those moments I said to the Lord: “although he stops breathing I know that you can lift him up for your glory and if it is not your will I will give you my Offering of love without any question ”because I have understood that the Lord's will is perfect and he knows what he is doing.
Together we serve the Lord and love him and I am sure that God would never do anything to hurt me. If that happened he knows why. On the day of the funeral I confided to a very dear sister that I could not see when they entered that cavity in the earth and covered it, she replied: “Carmen, you can, you ran a lot, you did a lot and now I would only close that chapter ”I was trying to find an answer to please my desire and I also communicated my concern to my pastor Dr. Miranda, he with wise words inspired by God told me:“ Carmen, he is not there, what you see is where he lived . Everything that Percio was, his character, soul, his services and personality is gathered in the presence of the Lord that you see is chemical substance that returns to earth. "
The way he explained to me I am not able to explain it but that was the idea. Those words gave me authority and power to overcome the pain that was tearing my heart and I was able to stand up and give glory to the Lord in the midst of the situation in which I found myself. And not only at that moment, many nights I would wake up facing my reality and those same words would comfort me again.
Dear brothers and sisters, the Lord loves us with a love without equal and nothing is going to separate us from that love. And although we do not consider it death is linked to that love, His Word tells us that the death of his saints is precious in Jehovah's eyes. When one of our loved ones comes into the presence of the Lord they enter into the perfect joy of the Lord. And we who for a time stayed here, let us lean on his grace and the power of his strength, remembering that our citizenship is not of this world that we are pilgrims here and one day we will all meet again in the presence of the Lord if we are faithful to him. .
I decided with the Lord's help not to pray like a sad and bitter widow, not to make any kind of claim to the Lord, but to pray like a bride dressed for her husband who is Jesus Christ my maker. He has not left me and will not leave you either.
