Summary: In the story of the widow who approaches the prophet Elisha, we learn the importance of presenting our needs to the Lord with clarity and specificity. Elisha's question "what will I do to you?" is not a sign of confusion, but rather a way for the Holy Spirit to involve the woman in the miracle that is to unfold. Similarly, when Jesus asked Bartimaeus, "What do you want me to do to you?" he was inviting a declaration of faith and a clear request. God likes us to cooperate with Him in working out our miracles, and often asks us to tell Him what we have at hand - the deposit or foundation upon which He can work His wonders. We should persist in presenting our needs to God and asking for His help.

We have to be clear when we are in situations of need and present our needs to the Lord with a first and last name. This widow who approaches the prophet Elisha tells him in a very succinct and concentrated way what his crisis consists of, and thus we have to be clear and specific when we present our needs to him.

Now: Eliseo's response or rather the way he reacts to his presentation is very interesting and very revealing. Eliseo comes out with a question and says: "What will I do to you? Tell me what you have at home."

That is also very revealing because many times we see in Scripture that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself when approached with certain crises or needs many times took time to ask people what they wanted Him to do to them.

Elisha's question "what will I do to you?" I do not think it is a question of confusion or uncertainty or lack of knowledge, but rather that we are seeing the springs of the Holy Spirit moving within the mind of the prophet Elisha and already beginning to move the resources of the Kingdom of God for this woman.

But we also see there as an effort on the part of the Holy Spirit on the part of Elisha to involve this woman in the very process of the miracle that is to unfold. God also likes that we involve ourselves in the miracle that He is going to do, God likes to work in partnership with His servants.

That question Eliseo asks "what will I do to you?" It reminds me of the passage of the blind Bartimaeus that when he hears that the Lord is passing by, because he cannot see, he begins to cry out. Again, crying out is important, the cry that this woman raises in front of Elisha that we talked about a while ago in another meditation.

Bartimaeus approaches the Lord Jesus Christ, they take him before the Lord because he is shouting and saying: Lord son of David have mercy on me, people try to repress him but the Lord finally at his insistence the Lord stops his walk and says: Bring it to me. And it is interesting, obviously this man is blind because they are dragging him, they are carrying him, he is a well-known beggar in the community and who knows if the Lord himself had already passed along him at another time but this is the moment of the encounter .

And Bartimaeus approaches the Lord and the Lord says to him: "What do you want me to do to you?" and I imagine that Bartimaeus for a moment will have asked himself: wow, what do you want me to do? I want to see, it is evident that this is what interests me, but the Lord wanted to get from Elisha an expression of faith, a request, the Lord likes that we present our needs before Him.

He knows what we need but if we do not ask, we do not receive, says the Word of the Lord, we have to ask to receive. Santiago says the same, he says: "You do not receive because you do not ask." You have to ask the Lord clearly, you have to come again and again repeatedly, "pray without ceasing" says the Word. Sometimes we have to present our cause to Him again and again because the Lord is pleased that our faith is powerful enough to insist and not be defeated by the first refusal or the first silence of the Lord because that would indicate that we do not truly believe in then the reality of God.

Then he asks her: "what will I do to you?", He wants this woman to cooperate. God likes us to cooperate with Him in working out our miracles. When Bartimaeus says to the Lord: good Lord, let him regain his sight, let him see, then the Lord uses that. That Bartimaeus declaration is like the base, like the foundation, it's like the human deposit that God needs to fall on that.

I believe that God always needs something. Not that he absolutely needs it, but He takes the human dimension seriously and He wants many times to hear us declare our requests because as they are done on Earth, they are also done in heaven and He wants to hear the voice of His servants here on Earth. loosing and opening a channel through which His blessing from heaven descends, then it is important that we understand the part that we play in performing the miracles that we wish to receive from God.

Then he says: "tell me what you have at home." Many times God asks His servants when they ask Him to do something "Tell me what you have." Do you remember the story of the disciples in the multiplication of the loaves and fishes? They do not have the solution for the Lord's order to feed the crowd, and the Lord says to them: Well, look, look to see what is between you, then the disciples go, enter the crowd and return with five loaves and two fish. That was the deposit, that was the concrete and material basis for the miracle.

God always likes to wear something that we have. I can tell you that the solution to your problem and the answer to your need and you already have it, it is in you, it is around you. What you need is to find that core that God is going to use to do the powerful work He wants to do in your life. To Moses he asked: Moses, what do you have on hand? the hand and a rod, and those were the miracles, those were the signs that Moses would use when he went before Pharaoh.

Then he asks this woman: "Tell me what you have at home." I am going to leave you there because in the next meditation I want to continue with this drama because there is also a very important lesson for our life of miracles, to receive the great things that we also want to receive from God and we are going to do this. elaborate on our next meditation. May God bless you and we will meet shortly, blessings.
