Summary: Losing faith in difficult situations only adds more pain and frustration. It brings hopelessness and can lead to bitterness. However, it is possible to face problems with a different attitude and maintain a positive spirit. Faith can accomplish miracles and allows us to rise above the problems of life. Jesus expects us to have faith and not be frightened.

Do you remember a time when you said or thought: I have lost faith? How did you feel when you spoke those words? Maybe I can remind you: Most likely, you were going through a very complicated and difficult situation, perhaps on the verge of despair. The interesting thing is that by losing faith that everything would be solved in a favorable way, you automatically added pain and frustration to the sad experience that you were already living. By losing faith, you were not only facing the reality of the situation that afflicted you, which evidently remained the same or worse, but you were adding a new component to your struggle to get ahead. Do you know which one? By losing faith, you brought hopelessness into your life.

When that happens, the next temptation will be to open the door to bitterness. It is an inevitable process! Unfortunately that is the path that many people take. The great news is that there is another possible way before the imponderables of life. You can suffer many inconveniences without allowing them to cloud your soul or chill your heart. So much so that many people find a way to face their problems with a different attitude.

I visited an old woman who had been in bed for more than thirty years. She suffered from a deforming arthritis that had rendered her invalid. As we drove home, his pastor explained to me in detail the history and characteristics of his long illness. The situation was complicated by the fact that the sister was not very well cared for by those who had to do it.Although she was the owner of a very beautiful house, the family that came to take care of her took over the house and put the sick woman in a miserable room at the back of the patio. So I expected to find a dejected person there. I will never forget the impression she made on me when, upon entering the room, greeting her and asking her how she was doing, the old woman answered, while showing a wide smile: Very good, joyful in the Lord!

I carefully observed the conditions in which she lived, her meager furnishings, her poor physical condition, and her words shook my heart. She was able to maintain an incredible good character and strength despite having been bedridden for so many years and suffering from the heartbreak of those who had to take care of her! I am sure that that same day, walking through the streets of that same city and in very good health, there were many people who did not have the same spirit. The faith that this woman had in Christ enabled her not only to cope with a terrible illness, but to maintain a happy and grateful spirit, which allowed her to enjoy her life despite her limitations and the lack of love she suffered.

There is no doubt that faith can accomplish miracles. Does your faith allow you to rise above the problems of life and see the glory of God? That is what Jesus expects. He also tells us: How are you so frightened? How can you not have faith?

Faith always displaces intimidation.

God bless you!
