Am I asking what Jesus approves of?

What a vast promise! Something! Big or small, all my needs are covered by that word "something". Come, my soul, freely before the mercy seat, and hear your Lord when he says to you: "Open your mouth, and I will fill it."
What a wise promise! We must always ask in the name of Jesus. While this encourages us, it also honors Him. This is a constant argument. Occasionally any other argument is obscured, especially those that we might draw from our own relationship with God, or our experience of His grace; But in moments like this, the name of Jesus is as powerful on the throne as ever, and we can argue it with full confidence.
What an instructive prayer! I couldn't ask for anything that Christ couldn't put His hand and His seal on. I would not dare to use the name of my Lord for a selfish or capricious request. I can only use the name of my Lord for prayers that He himself would say if he were in my case. It is a great privilege that we are authorized to ask in the name of Jesus as if Jesus himself were asking; but our love for Him would never allow us to interpose that name where He would not put it.
Am I asking what Jesus approves of? Would I dare to put His seal on my prayer? Then I already have what I am looking for from the Father.
