Summary: To achieve greatness in the Kingdom of God, we must first go through a formative process of brokenness and humiliation, just as Jesus did by emptying Himself and dying on the cross. This is the legitimate way to reach power and authority in the Kingdom of God. We must ask the Father to work in our lives and form our character like that of Christ so that we can be used as instruments of His grace.

We continue with the study where the mother of the sons of Zebedee approaches the Lord asking him for a preferential place to the left and to the right of the Lord Jesus Christ when He is sitting on His Throne, and that the Lord asks her: well, are you here? willing to pay the price, and your children, of that chosen place?

And we remembered that to reach greatness in the Kingdom of God we must first go through a formative process, a process of brokenness and humiliation. We remember what the Bible says, in Philippians chapter 2 verses 5 to 11 the apostle Paul calls them and says: "Let there be in you the same feeling that was in Christ Jesus, who being equal to God did not take to be equal to God as something to cling to but humbled himself, assumed the form of a servant, emptied himself and mounted on the cross to a death unworthy of Him, and humbled himself to the Father. "

He says: "For this reason God gave him a name that is above every name so that before the name of Jesus every knee of those who are in heaven, on earth and under the earth will bow." In other words we see here that the Lord Jesus went through a process; to have a Name that is above every name He first emptied Himself. He gave up his God form although he was still God in essence, but assumed the form of a helpless baby. He lived and was born humble, poorly. He suffered a number of sufferings and sufferings, and humiliations, and finally the greatest thing he did was that, assuming the form of a servant, he died for us and not just any death but death on the cross.

That was the formative process, that was the baptism of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ asks the mother of the Zebedee children and her own children: can you be baptized with the same baptism with which I am to be baptized?

Look here: what was that baptism with which the Lord was going to be baptized and that baptism through which they would have to go to be worthy of that greatness to which their mother aspired? Well, the baptism was the crucifixion. In others it is as if the Lord had been totally immersed, submerged and penetrated in all His Being by the suffering of the cross. The Lord says to them: are you willing to go through this formative process?

It is interesting that what the Bible tells us is that: for us to be worthy of that power that many of us want, we have to go through that process, that is the legitimate way to reach power in the Kingdom of God.

There are many people in the Kingdom of God who want to achieve greatness using illegitimate methods, but ultimately the only method that is worthwhile, the only method that is in line with the values of the Kingdom of God is through a formative process. , a process that enables us to be legitimate and authentic employers of the authority, the power, the glory of the Kingdom of God.

And we have to ask Him every day: Father, deal with me, Father, form me, break me, work in my life in different ways so that my character becomes like the character of Christ, so that then truly You can form and work me like You want, and use me as an instrument of Your Grace.

I hope this is very clear to us on this day, that to reach greatness we have to first beg the Father to go through a formation process. God bless you and until our next meditation.
