Summary: God's sovereign grace can turn rebellious strangers into His children. Some of us were once so ungodly that we heard the voice of the Spirit saying "You are not my people," but now we hear the voice of God saying "You are children of the living God." This is a wonderful and hopeful transformation that should inspire gratitude and confidence in us. If God can change us, then there is hope for anyone. Let us continue to worship and trust in Him.

Sovereign grace can turn strangers into children, and the Lord here declares His purpose to deal thus with the rebellious, and to make known to them what He has done. Dear reader, the Lord has done this in my case; Has He done something similar in your case? So let us join hands and hearts to praise His adorable name.

Some of us were so decidedly ungodly that the Word of the Lord truly said to our consciences and hearts: "You are not my people." In the house of God, and in our own homes, when we read the Bible, this was the voice of the Spirit of God in our soul: "You are not my people."

It was truly a sad, condemning voice. But now, in the same places, we hear a voice, coming from the same ministry and from Scripture, saying, "You are children of the living God." Can we be grateful enough for this? Is not it wonderful? Doesn't it give us hope for others? Who is out of the reach of almighty grace? How could we lose hope for someone, since the Lord has worked such a wonderful change in us?

He who has kept this great promise will keep any other; therefore, let us continue with songs of worship and confidence.
