Summary: The church should not be a competition for the family, and it is important for church leaders to connect with families to ensure that they are not neglecting their family role. Many churches do too much with programs and activities, which can overwhelm families and cause complaints. The biblical church was familiar and held meetings around a table where food was shared, and everyone participated in discussions. The quality of life in the home will determine the quality of life in the church, and the church should guide and encourage families to share together and educate from a biblical basis. Programs are not bad, but they should be put to prayer and should edify families, not serve personal vanity.
Seeing many Christians working tirelessly for the church is common in our day. Many still think, despite knowing what the scriptures say about this, that working until exhaustion pleases God, when He tells us in his word not to worry , because nothing of the What man does can save him and give him the guarantee for eternal life. In that sense, everything was done, Christ did the work, there is nothing else to do but embrace him.
However, many people, justifying themselves with the great work they have to do for God, stop doing what they have to do in their family role and the church cannot be on the sidelines of this, it must connect with the families that make it up in a that situations of this type can be detected and solved in time, before the disaster.
The church cannot be a competition for the family. Today we suffer from a disease called "programs" that many churches do too much. Meetings and beautiful shows, recitals and others provoke complaints within the family nucleus. Wives feel that the burden of their children's guidance overwhelms them, children want to talk with their father about situations in their life that would be more embarrassing to explain to their mother, husbands who feel that the woman they married has been changed during marriage in some things for the better, but it is difficult for them to enjoy those things because of the absence and abandonment.
Today, many of those who lead the churches also work secularly and this is exhausting, because there are a minority who are truly committed to the work.
The biblical church was familiar, not formal or conditioned to…. The meetings were held around a table where food was shared. The elders began to speak on a topic and everyone else gave testimonies and opinions that were corrected by the elders. Young people and children who were educated to lead a life of holiness participated, which differs from today's education where the father is little or no active.
The quality of life in the home will determine the quality of life in the church. The best work that the current church can do is to guide and encourage families to share together, directing their education from a biblical basis.
Making programs is not bad, the bad thing happens when the programs suffocate the family, preventing its cohesion and in this way the purpose for which it was created is not fulfilled.
Any program that takes place in the church needs to be put to prayer for divine guidance and wisdom and its purpose should be to edify the families of the church. Never an activity that the church of Christ develops should be for personal vanity, but for God's purpose to be fulfilled in his people and for his glory, so that it is a healthy church and every man can say: “but me and my house we will serve the Lord ”(Joshua 24:15)
