Summary: When the Holy Spirit is within us, we are given authority, effectiveness, wisdom, and a supernatural aura that enables us to testify about the Gospel and the claims of Jesus Christ as Lord. This is why it is important for believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit. However, the Presence of the Holy Spirit is not a solver-everything; other additional elements are needed, such as fidelity to the Word of God, holiness, integrity, humility, meekness, the fruit of the Spirit, obedience, a rejection of money and material things, and a total surrender to the interests of the Kingdom of God. We must conduct ourselves with a healthy and sacred fear because the Holy Spirit is powerful and delicate. We cannot neglect other parts of the Christian life and must keep all nutrients of the Kingdom of God in balance to avoid terrible downturns that serve as an obstacle to the movement of God in our lives.
When the Spirit of God is within us, that Spirit of God makes us effective. God gives us authority, an authority that others will see in us and that will enable us to testify in effective ways about the Gospel and the claims of Jesus Christ as Lord.
That is why God told the disciples not to leave Jerusalem until they received power from on high, because the Lord Jesus Christ knew that these timid men and women who had fled when He was arrested and crucified, needed very serious treatment. powerful of God and that they had to be as strengthened in the inner being through the infusion of the Holy Spirit, which would enable them to effectively witness of the Gospel.
And that is why the Lord Jesus Christ tells them that, once the Holy Spirit has descended on them, He says: "And you will be my witnesses in Judea, in Samaria and in all the earth" because as a result of that powerful and new move within them then they could be witnesses of Jesus Christ, because the authority, the effectiveness, the wisdom, the supernatural aura of God would be upon them and this would make them effective witnesses.
And it is what happens with Saúl as well. God endows him with that authority, that when he blows the trumpet and says: unite all around me, people experience a sense of trust in this man and they certainly form an army that defeats this army in a very convincing and amazing way. that until recently, had filled them with fear and dread and had neutralized them. Why? because God is already releasing that leadership capacity, that charisma that convinces people that this man is the solution that we need.
When believers are filled with the Holy Spirit that gives us an authority that is not natural in us, it gives us that conviction. When trials come to the Christian life, we feel a certainty that God is capable of moving us forward. When we testify we do so in a way that people pay attention to what we are saying and are inspired to believe in what we are presenting to them.
When we make decisions in our daily life, we do so with tremendous security because that Spirit of God is manifesting itself; it is the trust of God, it is the faith of God manifesting itself through us, which makes us very effective as instruments of God.
That is what the child of God needs to be truly effective in the things of the Kingdom. We need that supernatural power and this is what the Church needs today in the 21st century, more people filled with the Holy Spirit.
I want to say however, that the Presence of the Holy Spirit is not a solver-everything, other additional elements are needed and that is what happens today, many believers in Latin America, in Africa for example where there is a great move of the Holy Spirit They are overconfident and neglected in other dimensions and other values of the Spirit-filled life, and then they are not as effective as they should be. Because along with the move of the Holy Spirit there must be: fidelity to the Word of God, holiness, integrity, humility, meekness, the fruit of the Spirit, obedience, a rejection of money and material things, and a total surrender to those who interests of the Kingdom of God, a rejection of our own greatness and our own name, and to seek only the greatness of God, and not be us granting ourselves the glory that only God belongs to as we sometimes see among so many leaders filled with the Holy Spirit in our countries.
Saul was not careful about his anointing. We see later that he was disobedient and that he cared a lot about his own reputation, we do not have time to enter that level of analysis because what interests us is another topic, but unfortunately Saúl did not end well because he was disobedient, because he did not take care of the anointing and that is a lesson for all of us.
When God comes to dwell in our lives we have to conduct ourselves with a healthy and sacred fear, because what we have is something wonderful and very delicate, and very sublime, and we have to handle it with extreme neatness and care because of how powerful and valuable it is. If we don't take care of ourselves, the fact that we have the Holy Spirit is not going to prevent us from ending up in terrible mistakes and tragedies.
Unfortunately, we see that Solomon received a spirit of unprecedented wisdom and ended up leading the people of Israel to idolatry. David, full of the Power of God as well, made terrible mistakes that greatly damaged and ugly his ministry; in this case Saul also ends in tragedy because he did not take care of the anointing, he was not careful enough to walk neatly and conduct himself with humility, and simplicity, and obedience before God.
They wanted to become independent from Samuel, who was the prophet chosen by God, and then the civil-military authority was divided from the spiritual authority embodied by the prophet Samuel, and this led to a terrible tragedy. When the Holy Spirit is manifesting in our life we cannot neglect, we cannot get so excited that we forget the other parts of the Christian life, we have to ask the Lord to give us wisdom to keep the different nutrients of the Kingdom of God moving within us. in perfect balance.
The anointing does not neutralize the need for other very important elements such as: the fruit of the Holy Spirit, holiness, humility, obedience, adherence to the Word of God, but we have to be very careful to keep all of this in balance. so that our ministries and our lives go from growth to growth, and not to experience terrible downturns that serve as an obstacle to the movement of God in our lives. May the Lord bless you my beloved brothers and until our next meditation.
