Summary: In the story of Saul, the first king of Israel, we see how the Holy Spirit moves in the lives of God's children. Saul needed to be filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit to do God's work of war and liberation. God sent Saul to encounter a company of prophets who were filled with the Holy Spirit and had the prophetic gift. These prophets had just come from a session of worship, where they used instruments to praise the Lord. God wants His people to worship Him with all dimensions of their being, as enthusiastic worship has an impact on our minds, bodies, and spirits. The worship of war is also a platform for the power of the Holy Spirit to move. God sends us to environments pregnant with the presence of the Holy Spirit to fulfill His purpose for us.

We see in the life of Saul, this very imperfect king, the first king of Israel, many elements that help us better understand how the Holy Spirit moves in the lives of the children of God. We see here that there are many things we have to learn to be skilled stewards of that gift and that energy that God puts in our hands through His Holy Spirit.

We have seen that the prophet Samuel guides Saul through a series of initial encounters that will prepare him for God's work for Saul. This work that Saul was going to do was a work of war, it was a work of liberation. Israel was possessed and surrounded, and oppressed by enemy powers, and God raises Saul up to bring deliverance to His people. And so Saul first needed to be filled with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

We have said that in spiritual warfare, the war against those powers that want to destroy our life and that want to wreak havoc, and keep us oppressed, and not allow the life of God to manifest through us, we need that fullness and that experience with the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

After giving instructions to these people that he is going to meet on the road, Samuel says to Saul: "And when you get there to the city, you will find a company of prophets coming down from the high place, and before them leaper, tambourine, flute and harp, and they prophesying. Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you with power, and you will prophesy with them, and you will be changed into another man. And when these signs have happened to you do whatever comes your way, because God is with you . "

Again, we see here a very powerful series of teachings. Another such group of people that God wants Saul to meet on his way is a company of prophets. Very interesting this idea that obviously, Samuel was not the only prophet in Israel. There were other anointed people too, filled with the Holy Spirit who had the prophetic gift, there were communities of people who knew the Power of God.

We don't know exactly what this company was made of, this select group of men filled with the Holy Spirit, but God wanted Saul to have an encounter with them because in them was the Power of God.

Again: look at the importance of those environments that are pregnant with the Presence of the Holy Spirit. God does not send Saul to a place where there is biblical teaching and all these things which are very important as we always point out, but rather he sends him to a place where the Presence of God is naked through these powerfully anointed people.

And the interesting thing is also that these men who are walking and coming down say: "That they come down from the high place" these people came as from a worship session. The high places in Israel were the places that symbolized closeness to the Presence of God. They were places that symbolically perhaps looked over the city, and these men went to those places because there was like a Presence of God that is kind of mysterious, but there are places that are certainly consecrated for the worship of the Lord and those places acquire like a Presence, a filling of the Holy Spirit.

False prophets have always understood this too and where did they worship false gods? in the high places too. It is that the devil is always trying to imitate the things that the children of God do, and those places are places that symbolically have great power and great symbolic anointing. So these men come from that place, they come from a session of praise, intercession, cry, spiritual warfare, they come filled with the Holy Spirit.

And it says that before them there were people who were worshiping the Lord with psaltery, with tambourines, with flutes, with harps. Praise will always be linked to the anointing of the Holy Spirit. These men knew that the Presence of God is aroused through worship. Wherever there is an environment filled with the Holy Spirit, there is going to be worship, and not a medium and lukewarm, and passive, but a fervent worship, a worship with different instruments.

The Word of the Lord calls the people of God to worship Him with tambourine, with psaltery, with harp, with dance, raising their hands, enthusiastically expressing adoration to the Lord, and God wants us to worship Him with our mouths, with our hands, with the spirit, with the mind, with all the dimensions of our being. God likes the holy sound of God's children worshiping Him with a multitude of instruments.

Many people think that worship of the reverent Lord has to be very subdued, very solemn, very mystical, and God also loves that fervent and joyful worship of God's people, because that worship has an impact on us. It cleanses our minds, purifies our bodies, focuses our minds, intensifies our energies.

We are biological beings and our spirit is linked to our body and it is linked to our brain. This separation of the hands and feet from the body, from the spirit is something totally artificial that God does not know. Enthusiastic worship, praise through different instruments and our body has a power to elicit the Presence of God that nothing equals. And these anointed prophets, this company of prophets knows the importance of worshiping the Lord in that way, as in the form of spiritual warfare. We will see later and we will insist more on the worship of war as a platform for the Power of the Holy Spirit to move.

But God sends Saul to meet this company of prophets in which praise is moving in a powerful way because God had a purpose in that environment for Saul, and the mission He had for him later on. God bless you, we will continue our meditation in our next reflection.
