Summary: The Pentecostal revival and the praise and worship movement helped restore the importance of worship in Christianity. Worship is now seen as a powerful instrument to unleash the power of God, receive instruction and energy from the Holy Spirit, and create an environment for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow freely. Many view worship as a lifestyle and an essential part of worship with its own importance and functions. It is not just a transitional element towards preaching but a practical instrument to facilitate the moving of the Holy Spirit in any situation.

Without a doubt, the Pentecostal revival in the early twentieth century helped restore worship to its original role as we see it represented in Scripture. The emphasis that the Azuza Street revival brought on the Holy Spirit, gifts, and spiritual warfare brought with it a renewed awareness of the importance of worship among a large section of God's people.

With the praise and worship movement that began in the United States during the 1980s, which later gave rise to Christian singers and composers such as Marcos Witt, Danilo Montero, Marco Barrientos and others in Latin America, worship regained much of the importance it had lost. during the previous years.

Today, in many sectors of the Christian people there is a greater awareness that worship is a powerful instrument to unleash the power of God, to break ties, and to create an environment where the gifts of the Holy Spirit can flow freely. In many sectors of the Christian people, worship is seen as a platform where the power of God can descend. It is seen as a vehicle through which the children of God can receive instruction and energy to carry out the tasks that the Holy Spirit wants to assign them. Speaking of worship, Ron Kenoly, a famous Christian singer and worship leader, puts it this way:

Work is good, but it is when we spend time with the Lord that we get instructions for the work He wants done. We receive our assignments and orders during our times of intimacy with Him. The Lord will give us dreams, visions, and revelations of what is in His heart, as well as what He wants us to do. It is precisely during those times of intimacy with Him that we are prepared for the assignments He has for us.

Today, a large segment of the Christian people have come to view worship, not only as a mere transitional element towards preaching, but rather as an essential part of worship, with its own importance and its own irreplaceable functions. Many passages of Scripture have been rescued and refocused from that new perspective. The essential role that praise plays in the spiritual processes experienced by the people of God is recognized in them.

A large section of the Church today understands that worship is not just something that takes place for a few formal minutes during worship. Rather, it is seen as a lifestyle, a powerful and practical instrument to facilitate the moving of the Holy Spirit in any situation of trial or need.
