Summary: The meaning of a full life is based on faith in Christ. This is not a temporary or intellectual faith, but a saving faith that places Christ first in life. The fullness of life in Christ comes from the Holy Spirit and is centered on the cross. Faith is essential in pleasing God and experiencing a full life in Christ. Without faith, material wealth is unstable and insecure. The fullness of life in Christ is a rational experience and we are complete in His fullness. May the power of God fill you with real knowledge and faith for a full life for His glory.
The meaning of a full life is based on faith. Not of the temporary faith that remembers God only when the storm is inevitable, or the intellectual faith that takes comfort in giving credits as one more exercise of the intellect, but of the saving faith, which places Christ in the first place of life, the faith that overflows over difficulties. There is no full life in Christ, if there is no full faith.
Full of what? - would ask an impious. Whoever is not in Christ cannot understand this fullness. The Bible says that spiritual things can only be discerned spiritually. Our spirituality does not come from our understanding, nor from our tastes for the fine arts or our inclination for poetry, literature or good cinema, but from the Holy Spirit. Such is faith, saving faith. The full life in Christ is not submitted to the designs of one's own will, but to the precepts that point with certainty that there is a God, alive and who is among us. That is the faith that we have received from the Spirit, that Christ came to seek sinners to redeem them from the slavery of sin and offer them eternal life.
We all receive his fullness through the merits of the cross. The fullness of life in Christ points to the cross. He won it for us and from the beginning it has been the promise to all of his children. "From its fullness we have all received grace upon grace." John 1.16
If there is something indispensable to hold on to in life in the Lord, it is faith. The faith that he is always present, that he is within reach of a prayer of gratitude and love, that he is the helper who does not spare time to come to our aid. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is like a river that flows into a sea of full life if Christ has been the breath that fanned the candles in your heart.
The Word confirms it: "and in him, who is the head of all power and authority, you have received that fullness." (Col 2.10). The fullness of life in Christ is lived by faith. It is not an empty concept, but a rational experience. Without faith any material wealth becomes unstable, insecure. The barns that are best enjoyed are those that have been filled by God's grace in response to our faith. We are complete for its fullness.
My prayer is that the fullness of Him who fills everything in everything (Eph 1.23) will also fill you with his power and take your thoughts captive to real knowledge, by faith, of a full life for his glory.
God bless you!
