Summary: God wants us to be diligent and take initiative in getting out of difficult situations. He often uses humble and small people to bring solutions to our problems, and we should not neglect any source. We should strive and be brave, take risks, and believe that God has something for us in the initiatives we undertake. Naaman exercised faith and took action when the young slave suggested a solution to his leprosy. We too must be diligent and take action, even if it means using natural means to achieve a supernatural result.
Let us never stop witnessing of God wherever we are, whatever our situation, because this militant witness of God can be the key that God uses to totally change our situation.
The second part of this passage tells us that when this young woman testifies to her mistress that the God of Israel can heal Naaman's leprosy, Naaman neither slow nor lazy says that: "Naaman entered his master and told him: so and so A girl has said that she is from the land of Israel. And the king of Syria said to her: go and see, and I will send letters to the king of Israel. "
We see something interesting and it is that Naaman wastes no time when he hears that this young woman tells him that there is a possible solution to her need, he immediately goes out and goes to the king of Israel, and sets in motion the necessary pieces to go to a meeting with the prophet.
What came to my mind when I read that verse is the fact that God wants us to be diligent and to do our part in getting out of the situations we sometimes find ourselves in. God has purposes for our life and He wants to do miracles in our life but He wants to do it in partnership with us, and we can't just pray, pray and pray and think like God is magically going to do all things; Sometimes God wants to work in partnership with us and is glorified that we also take initiatives to establish communication channels through which the grace and blessing that God has in store for us can flow.
Naaman wasted no time and went quickly. First we have to praise the faith of this man who, although the answer comes from this young woman, says: well, I need a miracle, I need a solution and perhaps this is a question that is there for me.
One of the themes that runs through this text and that we will see later is that God sometimes uses humble, small and simple people to bring the solution to our problems and that we cannot neglect any source, no matter how humble. to receive something from God and we will see that later. But we have to praise Naaman who wastes no time and even though this suggestion comes from a young slave, Naaman takes part in the matter and does what he has to do.
How important it is that we be diligent in our life. As I say this I have been thinking about the words of the Lord to Joshua when he says: "Look that I command you to make an effort and be brave, do not fear or lose heart because I will be with you wherever you go." I only command you to strive and be brave.
It is interesting that God says that to Joshua at the moment when Joshua is about to take over the reins of the nation of Israel that has been forty years in the desert, replace the great leader Moses and enter the people of God in the land. of Canaan that God has reserved for His people, and that they will have to fight with many enemy nations that will resist the entry of God's people into Canaan.
And God says to Josué: "I have given you all the land that the soles of your feet tread on, but look, I command you to make an effort and be brave." In other words, God has already given the Word of liberation many times, as in this case God wanted to heal Naaman and God had determined that it should be that way, but Naaman had to strive in a sense and be brave, and believe even though this suggestion It came from an almost insignificant person, that this could be the solution to his problem. Naaman exercised faith and we have to exercise faith.
We have to look for the possible way out in the situations of our life. Sometimes God wants to heal us but and we've prayed and prayed, and maybe God wants to use a doctor, and maybe God wants to use a new and different treatment, and we have to put our faith in that and believe the Lord, and say: Father If You want to use this means, then amen, I bless it and unleash Your blessing and Your Power. If You want to use this new and different job or this new business initiative to get me out of my financial shortage, I bless this business, and I am going to call people, and I am going to inquire about what You want to do in my life.
Many times God wants to use us naturally to do a supernatural work. There was a part that Naaman had to do, he had to go to his king and get letters of authority, and he had to prepare and do other errands because God wanted to take him there. Imagine if Naaman simply begins to pray: O God of Israel, I do not know You, bring Your prophet from Israel to me, right? He had to go to the prophet, he had to go to the king.
As Nehemiah also did with his own king when he wanted to restore the walls of Jerusalem, he prayed to the Lord but also took the opportunity that the king opened to him to present his cause before the king and ask him for authority and material causes, and a series of things that he needed to go to Israel, permission to go and then restore the walls, present his vision to the people and recruit people to help him and all these things, right?
God always uses our dynamism, our initiatives and we have to believe that in our move and our initiatives, and in the things that we are doing naturally God is incubating them supernaturally to produce a supernatural result.
We have to understand that God is a very complex God. Sometimes we want it as an absolutely sovereign, one-sided move from God. God also wants to use us to glorify himself and to perform a shared miracle so to speak. In this case, he invites us to think that Naaman when listening to the suggestion of the slave, moving in the direction of the miracle of God, God then was going to find him halfway, which was going to be a very complex path too; But it is important that we understand that, I believe that through that text God is telling us: look, I command you to make an effort and be brave.
Perhaps you who read or watch or listen to this program God is talking to you about a solution that He wants to bring to your life but you have to be brave, take risks and believe that God has something for you in the initiatives that you are going to undertake. God bless you, until our next meditation.
