Summary: What we eat affects our physical health, and what we listen to affects our spiritual health. The enemy uses lies, rumors, and false doctrines to try to separate us from God's will. To avoid falling into these traps, we need to be cautious and scrutinize everything, retaining only what is good. We must feed our spirit with the word of God, stay firm in our faith, and avoid participating in rumors and false witness. When we sin, we can run to God and cling to Him for forgiveness and strength. Nourish your mind and spirit with the unadulterated food that is the word of the living God.
Many nutritionists claim that 'we are what we eat' and over time I have come to realize that this is true, from my own experience. For a long time I used to eat vegetables and fruits a priori from other less nutritious foods and with this I not only managed to maintain a stable weight, but also kept away the unsightly cellulite. But the economy made me quit that habit and of course, the unpleasant effects were immediate.
Our mind also responds depending on the food we offer it and the more we consecrate ourselves to God, the more the enemy attacks us using a multitude of tricks.
You need to be cautious when listening. Scrutinizing everything and retaining the good is essential, because what is not according to the will of God we must discard. God will show us the truth if we are in full communion with Him, since we will be convinced of which word is His and which is not.
We must be very careful when the enemy uses friendly and kind phrases, this may have the purpose of lowering our guard and it is never with good intentions.
One of the tricks of the enemy is the lie, it adorns it, it sweetens it, but its real purpose is to separate us from our duty, which is the will of God. This is its reason for being, when we do not give in, it tries to intimidate us by attacking our mind with fatal ideas and fears, but, if we have a firm faith, they should not find a place in us.
If we feed our spirit with the word of God, ideas of insecurity will not come to our mind, because his presence and the security that He transmits to us, fills everything. Staying firm and confident in the greatness and might of our Father will help to prevent us from believing a single one of Satan's lies and in this way we will obtain victory.
Lies and rumors go hand in hand. The "they say that ...", without personalizing is not valid, it is weeds and does not help. The aim of the rumor is to discredit the people who are the subject of it and weaken them when they are not firm in the faith. In Old Testament times, false witness was punishable by death (Deuteronomy 19: 15-21). Whenever we participate in a rumor, we become false witnesses.
To crucify Christ they used portions of his phrases and interpreted them in their own way. Even today many groups called Christians take portions of the Bible and on them build a doctrine without taking into account that the foundation is not an isolated phrase, but Christ in his totality, since “All things were made by him, and without him nothing of what has been done, was done ”. John 1: 3
Other times the enemy tempts us to sin so that we fall into disrepute and shame our creator. The Old Testament narrates in the first 2 chapters of 1 Kings that when someone sinned they ran to the temple and took hold of the horns of the altar. Today we do the same, only that it is not the horns of the altar that we cling to, but the same God that we offend with our attitudes.
Let us avoid "food transgressions", we nourish our mind and our spirit with the unadulterated food that is the word of the living God.
