Summary: We must be willing to endure waiting times and testing times so that God can work through us to influence and save others. Naaman, despite his great military accomplishments and national fame, was a leper, which was a great shame in his time. God was preparing Naaman for an encounter with Him and may have used him as a powerful testimony to the nations. Our present sufferings and trials may be preparing us for moments of glory and blessing, and our faith makes a difference. God is able to redeem our times of difficulty and turn them into a foothold for His great visitation in our lives.
We have to be willing to endure certain waiting times, certain testing times so that God can effect through the dramas that He is executing, the influence and salvation that He wants to have on other people around us.
We have to be willing to put ourselves as instruments in the Hands of God and that means that sometimes we are going to suffer, and undergo some kind of test as He did with His own Son Jesus Christ, through our personal crucifixion and lead us to be used by He.
And another thing that we see here is that Naaman, despite his great glory as a general and as a military man, and enjoying the esteem of his king, another thing that was in his life is that he was a leper and this was a great shame for him. a great general as accomplished as he and of such distinction. It was almost ironic that this man who enjoyed so much national fame and distinction suffered from a disease as painful, as shameful as leprosy was in his time. A leper was a person totally consigned to oblivion and isolation because no one wanted to come into contact with a disease that was considered contagious.
So we see here this great contradiction. Evidently God was working in Naaman's life and was preparing him for an encounter with God. Again, many times our present sufferings and the trials that we are going through, God may be using them to prepare a great moment of glory, of blessing, of liberation in our lives and that moment of trial and difficulty, those times of drought and of desert can be the prelude moments and the dark background to show that pot, like a diamond on a black velvet fabric that makes it stand out more its beauty, and so the black undertones of life can be simply the way God wants unfold His Glory.
God was subjecting Naaman to a deal with Him. Naaman was a man of integrity, he was a serious, honest man, of great value and God loved him, and wanted to bring him to know the true God of Israel. And who knows if he would later use Naaman after his conversion as such a powerful and strategic man to return to Syria and share the Word of the true God, the God of Israel and so that his life would be a great testimony to the nations. As it has been through centuries and centuries, literally thousands of years, we continue to read the story of Naaman and benefit in different ways as we are right now from how God worked in his life.
I imagine that when Naaman met the God of Israel and experienced the power of God in that great miracle that God would do in his life, he would have considered all his years of suffering as worthwhile because they served to expose him and bring him to life. knowledge of that great and powerful God and be he the beneficiary of a miracle as great as the one he was to experience.
So for our brothers who suffer and suffer, that we are going through different times of trials at this time of our life, if you are going through a difficult situation, if you are going through a long-term illness situation, if you are in a desert. spiritual life in your life, if you are suffering from any type of depression or financial difficulty, I encourage you in the Name of the Lord not to lose hope and to see in all your sufferings the possible Hand of God, and certainly the Hand of God that He is working and preparing something great for you if you believe Him and if your faith does not waver.
The Word of the Lord says: "For this slight momentary tribulation produces in us an ever more excellent and eternal weight of glory." God uses the tribulations and difficulties of life, such as Naaman's leprosy, to prepare scenes of great beauty and great glory for us. Our faith makes a difference.
The Word of the Lord also says that: "To those who love God all things work together for good." God is able to redeem your times of difficulty, your leprosy, and turn it into a foothold for His great visitation in your life. Your faith will make a difference as it did in Naaman's life. God bless you and until our next meditation.
