Summary: The family is important to God and is the center of society. Satan attacked the family in the beginning and caused sin to enter the world. But there is hope for the Christian family, as fathers are chosen to instruct and guide their children in the ways of the Lord. Jesus is our great priest who defends and mediates for our families. Let us pray for our families and for those who have the responsibility to instruct them.

The family is where God expresses himself for the blessing of all nations and peoples. The promise is for the family; for the father, the mother, the children. It is the center and nucleus of society, what moves it and makes it progress or fall and collapse. When the family is doing well, God is happy. If you have not realized how important family is to God, I invite you to reread Genesis with the eyes of the heart. There we see God's perfect plan in creating the family, his promises of blessing conditional on obedience. Satan knew the value of the family and directed his deadly attack against it.

The cunning serpent deceived the family and the world stage opened its curtains to sin and evil began to unleash in the heart of man. The man began to rehearse his sadly famous way of hiding from his nakedness by weaving fig leaves to cover his guilt. (Gen 3.7). And God, who was walking in the garden of Eden, called MAN! and said where are you? (Gen 3.9).

Poor Adam, on his shoulders almost weighs the dysfunction of all humanity and the sad reality that has dragged the families without God who still deny Christ and continue to rely on their own resources to live. Many times I have tried to imagine the face of Adam when he heard the voice of God in the garden.

But there is good news. Read again the verses that lead this meditation. There are great truths there for the Christian family that has God as the builder of its home:

We, the men, the FATHERS of the family, have been chosen, as was Abraham. So that?

a) to instruct the children and the family.

And what is God's purpose in that task, what is the end?

b) that they stay in the way of the Lord and put into practice what is just and right.

And then what will happen? That the Lord will fulfill all that he promised!

The Hebrews had the first to treasure and be spokesmen for this message of redemptive tone; In addition to all the promises and the incorruptible inheritance of God for the Christian family, we also have a great priest who defends it and gives his life for it (Heb 10:21). His name is Jesus. And so that you understand it clearly, let me tell you that a priest is the one who mediates between God and his people. Our royal priesthood as God's people is due to the merits of Christ in his redemptive work. The Christian family is also the nucleus of the people chosen by God for the glory of the one who called us out of darkness into his admirable light. (1 Peter 2.9)

What are we going to do with this information PARENTS and siblings? Let us pray to the Lord for our family and for all His family and, above all, for those of us who have the responsibility to instruct them. May He help us!

God bless you!
