Summary: The apostle Paul invites Christians to transform themselves through the renewal of their understanding, as an alternative to conforming to the values of the world. This process of transformation is a gradual and ongoing one, where the person becomes more like Jesus Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit. The word for transformation in the original Greek means a change in form and nature, similar to the process of a worm transforming into a butterfly. Christians are called to aim for a transformed life, where they are unrecognizable from their former self and exemplify the attributes of a being transformed by the Power of God.

The apostle Paul invites us to a positive position and offers us an alternative to the life of the carnal Christian conformed to the values and desires of the world and says: rather, transform yourselves through the renewal of your understanding. That is the positive alternative and that is the call of God.

While we are continually submitting to the Lord and there is a process of continuous death or a living sacrifice that is losing its carnal and animal attributes and is becoming more and more like God, the Bible speaks that then simultaneously a process of transformation is taking place .

Pablo says: "But transform yourselves." That word transform in the original Greek is the word: metamorphousthe and it means: transform yourselves. That is the end result of a life lived in continuous sacrifice and dedication and adaptation to the values of the Kingdom of God.

At the end of our life it is assumed that we have already reached a state of transformation where the final result is radically different from the initial man, the initial woman who began the Christian career. When we begin the Lord's career we come with all kinds of wounds, deformations, sinful attitudes and then a process of limiting and gradual elimination of those sinful values and attitudes begins and with the passing of the years we are supposed to reach a position and a a state of transformation, of radical difference where we already exemplify and manifest the attributes of a being transformed by the Power of God that is in very close consonance and similarity with the character of Jesus Christ.

Brothers, it is assumed that through the years those people who stopped seeing us when we were babies in Christ and now see us years later can say: wow, what a great change this person has made; his face is renewed, his gaze cleaner, purer and more innocent, his way of speaking, of behaving more ethereal and more like Christ Jesus.

It is a transformation that we are supposed to acquire over the years, that must be our goal and it must be the target towards which we aim every day of our lives. When we enter the ways of the Lord we have to say to the Father: Lord transform me, make a metamorphosis in my life so that those who see me in the coming years will not be able to recognize how different I am.

By the way, the word metamorphosis is a compound word in the original Greek. Meta in Greek means: change, morphs is where the word form comes from and it refers to a change of form but more than a change of external form it is more of a change almost like the structure itself, it is a change like nature almost. That is why Christ and the Word speak to us of being born again, unless we are born of water and of the Spirit, the Bible says we cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

With this fallen, sinful nature, with these negative and disobedient attitudes to the Word of the Lord, we will never enter the Kingdom of God, there has to be a metamorphosis, a change in us through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that leads us to be more and more like Jesus Christ.

Scientists have used the word metamorphosis as well, they have used it to refer to the change in a worm when it is transformed from a worm to a butterfly. Many people may not know that those beautiful butterflies with their almost transparent and multi-colored wings flying so gracefully through gardens and space were originally a humble worm crawling on the earth.

I was recently in the field of a state here in the United States called Maine and I saw a very cute worm on the ground, quite thick and of a size not typical for a worm and I saw it there crawling on the ground and at the moment It dawned on me that one day that worm would be a beautiful butterfly flying through the air. How was that transformation going to take place? One could never imagine how it is possible that this very unpleasant insect is at the moment a precious butterfly that one can hold like this in the hand and delight in looking at it delicate, soft, ethereal.

There has been a change, a metamorphosis. That worm enters its cocoon and is surrounded by a bark and a very mysterious biological process takes place and at a certain moment that being inside that enters like an unpleasant worm begins to break that outer bark and when it is released a beautiful butterfly comes out and thus is Suppose we make our life Christian.

We enter the Kingdom of God worms, full of corruption, sins, and attitudes that are unpleasant for God, we get caught up in God's dealings; His mysterious work in us, His transforming work, His Spirit, the trials of the Christian life, the fire, the crucible of God's dealings with us, the afflictions of the world lived in the light of the Word and we leave completely transformed, looking more and more like ourselves. more to Christ.

By the way I say completely transformed and it is not totally true. Our transformation is ongoing and never ends. True transformation occurs when we enter the Kingdom of God resurrected and with a new life in Christ Jesus and a completely different appearance and nature, ready to live eternity in the Presence of God.

But here in the world we are supposed to aim for a transformed life. Are you living that way, are you aware of God's call to be a transformed being? If not, today is the day to start and ask the Holy Spirit to transform you into a butterfly that glorifies the Name of God. May the Lord bless you and see you soon, your brother in Christ Roberto Miranda says goodbye.
