My god is everything

Summary: Solomon built a temple for God, but knew that God cannot be contained in a physical building. Similarly, we should not focus on material things during Christmas, but prepare our hearts for Christ. Christmas is not just a date, but the beginning of God's plan of salvation. Christ offers us eternal life and is the greatest gift of all. We should be grateful for all that God has done for us and recognize that without Him, we are nothing.

When Solomon decided to build a house, Jehovah knew the magnitude of what he was going to do, because he knew for whom he was going to build it; That is why when it was finished he cried out to God saying: But is it possible that you, my God, live on earth with humanity? If the heavens, no matter how high, cannot contain you, much less this temple that I have built! (Chronicles 6.18).

How far was Solomon from knowing that his question would have an answer almost a millennium later, when that same God that the heavens could not contain decided to approach us and invite us to reconcile ourselves with Him.

Solomon was a wise man, he was fully aware that the only true God does not dwell in temples made by human hands (Acts 17:24)

But passionate about showing God how valuable it was to his life, he wanted the temple to be a solid and permanent building, just as our relationship with God should be.

We should live a life grateful to all that He did for us. Christ is everything in our life; he abandoned his kingdom, he despised his throne, he got rid of his crown to come to reign in the temple of our body and once there, everything else begins to disappear because his presence fills everything until we are flooded with his light.

Not only did it divide history into two eras, but it divided our lives into a before and after and led us from spiritual death to full and abundant life.

Christmas is not a date, not even the real date has been clarified because it is not important, the important thing is that a birth occurred, an event that began a Divine Plan of Salvation that culminated with the resurrection of the crucified God (John 3.16 )

This is what our Christmas consists of, the lights are not bad, not the trees, not the symbolic dolls, the bad thing is forgetting that none of this has value if the manger of our heart is not prepared for the King of kings and Lord of Sirs.

No matter how long we live, what matters is the time lived with Christ, no other created thing can give us what He offers us: eternal life. He is the ineffable gift of God (2 Corinthians 9:15) because such a great Salvation cannot be described in words.

Every time we want to show in actions what we would be able to do for you, Lord, you have already done it, you are always ahead of us.

This is why we can only prostrate ourselves before your presence and almost in a groan tell you: -To whom shall we go Lord? Without you we are nothing, you are everything!
