Summary: The text discusses how Moses interceded for the people of Israel when God planned to punish them for their disobedience. Moses prayed with sincerity and God listened to his prayer, showing mercy to the people. The author urges believers to also pray for their communities, rulers, and pastors, and to use their authority in prayer to impact the world. They emphasize the importance of a sincere and surrendered heart in prayer.

In the word of God we have countless examples of sincere, pure and simple prayers that moved the heart of God before resolutions that he had made because of the disobedience of man. One of these examples We can read it in the text cited above.

Thank God for his infinite mercy that he continues to extend to his people and for communicating to his prophets many of the things he plans to do. In this case he communicates his plan to Moses and Moses out of his love for God wanting to prevent God's name from being put to shame among the enemy nations intercedes for the people, verse 12 says why should the Egyptians speak, saying: For evil do I bring them out, to kill them on the mountains, and to wipe them off the face of the earth?

Moses said that prayer in the presence of God. The answer to this intercession did not wait in verse 14 we read: "Then Jehovah repented of the evil that he said he would do to his people."

In these difficult times that we believers in Jesus Christ (his church) need to reevaluate our position and analyze if we are truly assuming our role as the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5: 12-13) that As disciples of Jesus Christ with our testimonies and prayers we can season the earth with knowledge and grace of the one who loved us.

Every day we are informed of world events that are happening. Such as: natural disasters, deaths caused by all kinds of abuse, human trafficking, attacks against human security, etc.

Faced with all these situations, what are we doing? Lamenting us, declaring that they are God's judgments on earth? Or we are taking every opportunity to be used by God to impact the lives of people who are in deep despair without God and without hope, depressed, anguished. I firmly believe that it is time for the church of Jesus Christ to leave the sweet comfort of its home and go out onto the streets of our cities and bathe them with those rivers of God, declaring the grace and extended mercy of a caring God to save each being human and has given us the opportunity to be ambassadors of the kingdom announcing the good news of salvation.

As believers in Jesus Christ we have the authority to change many things. In the spiritual realm. And one of the ways to use that authority is through prayer. Are we praying for our communities? By our rulers, authorities? Do we pray for our pastors who teach us the word of God, the missionaries who carry the word around the world, and for our spiritual leaders?

The word urges us to pray for our rulers. (1Timothy 2: 2) And also for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122: 6)

A prayer is effective when it comes out of a glass that its content is totally surrendered to God where honesty, transparency and sincerity make the arm of God move as in the case of Moses.

We pray to have a life of intimacy with God, to exalt his name, to express our gratitude for the multitude of his mercy, for who he is. And because of what He means to us as His people.

“Let's get up and stand in the gap for this nation and for the other nations of the world. So that the eyes of the blind may be opened and the light shines through the darkness "
