The life that pleases God

Summary: To please God, we must seek reconciliation with Him, separate ourselves from sin, and live in obedience to His word. He does not require a price for forgiveness, but only our love. We must do justice, love mercy, and humble ourselves before Him. The Apostle Paul preached a gospel that gives all glory to God. Our greatest desire should be to honor God in everything we do and live a transformed life by His spirit. When we please God, even our enemies will be at peace with us.

The word please means to please, please, please. When someone is pleased with another person he feels completely satisfied otherwise he feels unpleasant, sad; disappointed.

For God to be pleased with us we must take an interest in reconciliation between man and his God. And keep in mind that sin does not please him, and from which we must separate ourselves if we really want to please him. God is not pleased with a false religiosity, nor with a partial obedience. The word of God tells us that the contrite and humbled heart will not despise you, O God. (Psalm 51:17)

God does not require that we pay a price for the forgiveness of sins, Christ has already paid it with his own life. He only requires that we love him. Will this be difficult for us?

If we want to live a life that is pleasing to our God, we must live in obedience to what is established in his word, if we do not obey his word we will not impact God with any type of sacrifice that we try to offer him; in ancient times many pagans even offered sacrifices to their false gods to their own children, in seeing. Quoted above, we can clearly read what Jehovah asks of each one of us:

  • Do justice

  • Loving mercy

  • Humble ourselves before our God.

The Apostle Paul in his preaching of the gospel to the Thessalonians clearly framed his interest in preaching a gospel that would give all the glory to God and not to men.

The greatest desire of the People of God, both corporeal and individual, must be to seek, obey, serve and honor our God with the totality of their being; bearing witness to a life transformed by the power of His spirit, pleasing Him in everything we do in our daily lives.

" When the ways of man are pleasing to Jehovah, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him " Proverbs 16: 7
