Summary: The mission of God is to restore humanity's relationship with Him through His redemptive plan. We are called to join Him in His work and participate in His mission. Our Christian life should be centered on the mission of God, and everything we do in Christ should fit into His plan. Jesus' mission focused on the excluded and marginalized in society. The Great Commission is not just about doing missions, but about our lifestyle, spiritual growth, and expectations. We should not be discouraged, as Christ is our burning bush, and He is passionate about saving the lost. We are all part of His mission, and we should reflect the values of the Kingdom in our lives.

I believe I have understood what God's mission is after reading and studying a beautiful book by Henry Blackeby that has blessed many brothers in the world. 'My experience with God' is one of those books that opens the spiritual eyes of everyone who reads it. One of the postulates it teaches is that we must be attentive to God's missionary action to unite to Him where He is working and join us in His redemptive work. It is not just about doing evangelism, which is good, or evangelizing, which is better, but about working with God so that man can restore his relationship with Him. The mission is not ours, but God's. His motivation rests in his love for the lost. God loves the world even though the world does not love Him. Each of us, as part of the body of Christ, enjoys the privilege of participating in his mission. God has a redemptive plan for humanity and you and I are part of that plan.

Jesus tells us: “And whoever has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name, will receive a hundred times more, and will inherit eternal life” (Mt 19:29).

The mission of God cannot be translated only in beautiful projects and diligences to reach unbelievers with the gospel and make them convert, nor to go out to preach to swell the lists of believers in our church, it is much more. According to Rolando Costa, the mission of God is the mother of theology, therefore it is the cornerstone on which our Christian life is based. We will be more useful vessels as we understand this concept. The mission of God is everything: worship must be centered on the mission of God, discipleship must respond to mission, service, communion between brothers, evangelism and evangelization as an integral activity that is united to the mission of the church (make disciples). The church serves God's mission.

Everything we do in Christ must fit into God's redemptive plan for the world, in his saving and persevering mission. If we understand God's missionary heart for the world, we will equally understand our place as Christians within Him and we will be willing to join Him in whatever area He calls us to serve.

Jesus went through the cities healing the sick and comforting the suffering. Its mission focused on the excluded and marginalized in society. From his own lips we can hear that he came to “preach good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom to the captives, to give sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor” (Luke 4: 18.19).

The Great Commission is not just about doing missions, but about our lifestyle, our spiritual growth, the expectations that God has of us, the way He works in us and through us to fulfill His mission: that may man restore his relationship with him and let us all be partners in the establishment of his Kingdom.

Are you going through deserts where you think God cannot help you? Are you discouraged when you value your Christian life? Do you think you are not capable of fulfilling the multiple tasks of God's mission in your own life? Remember that it is no longer necessary for God to show you a burning bush that is not consumed to get your attention. Christ is your burning bush. He is not consumed. His heart burns with passion and compassion for the lost, he cries for the spiritual and food famine caused by the selfishness of the impious man or by the hypocrite who claims to be a Christian and does not share in his barns that overflow and scatter.

He is not looking at what you are now, but at what you can become if you abandon yourself to his will and put yourself in his hands. Evangelist is not the one who preaches the gospel, but the one who testifies and clearly reflects in his life all the values of the Kingdom. You are at the center of his mission!

God bless you!
