Summary: As believers in Christ, we have the mind of Christ, which means we should think, act, and evaluate everything as he does. This privilege is only given to those who have been born again and have the Holy Spirit. By continuously reading the Bible and praying, our minds will be renewed to the mind of Christ. This truth should change the way we live and relate to others, as we see them as Christ sees them. We should ask God to help us activate the mind of Christ in us.

The Bible is one of the methods God uses to speak to us. Through it the Lord gives us advice on how to live according to his will; how to act and think as he does. In 1 Corinthians 2:16 specifically the Lord tells us that we have the mind of Christ. Meaning that every child of God who has confessed that Jesus is his Lord possesses his mind. So we should think as he thinks, look at things as he looks at them, evaluate everything as he does. In other words, to be radically transformed in the way of Jesus.

Having the mind of Christ also implies knowing what he thinks, and what plans he has for us, and even knowing what he expects of us. Every child of God, born again, must have this truth always present, that we no longer live but that Christ lives in us.

We are privileged beings. Verse 14 of the same chapter (1 Cor. 2) tells us that the carnal man cannot perceive the things of the Spirit of God because they have to be discerned spiritually, and to them it seems insanity. Only the children of God have been given this great privilege of understanding and perceiving the things of the Spirit of God. What for the carnal man is madness, is for us one of the most beautiful privileges that the Lord has granted us.

If we remain in a continuous search for God, in reading his word, and in prayer, our minds will be renewed every day to the mind of Christ, we will think and act as he does. We would be more like him. His Holy Spirit is always helping and disturbing us to analyze, memorize, and discern all things as Christ does, we have at all times know how to recognize the voice of his spirit.

If we fully understood this great truth, believe me that our lives would change. Our relationships with others would be different, we would look at our neighbor as Christ looks at him, the spiritual being would predominate in us and not the carnal. The Lord wants us to understand what this great privilege entails and to ask him in prayer to help us activate the mind of Christ that is in us.

Prayer: Father you say that I have your mind. Help me understand this great truth and teach me every day to think, act, and live a total life in you.
