Summary: The story of the liberation of the city and the provision of food in 2 Kings 7 highlights the contrast between those who believe and those who doubt and reject the Word of God. King Joram initially doubts the news of abundant provision, thinking it is a trap by the Syrians. However, when scouts confirm the news, the people sack the Syrian camp, fulfilling the prophetic Word given by Elisha. Even unbelievers fulfill God's Will when He is involved in the matter. This passage speaks to the preparation of the spiritual scenario for a great move of God and a coming harvest of souls in these last times.
The prophetic Word that Elisha gave made possible the liberation of the city and a consequent abundant provision of food. It is a story of faith and unbelief. As few stories show us the contrast between people who believe and people who doubt and reject the Word of God.
We saw the reaction of this prince when he hears the Word of Elisha that tomorrow there will be abundant provision. And now we see something interesting. When these lepers go to the city and announce that the Syrian camp is abandoned and that there is food and clothing available there, the reaction of the Israelites is interesting above all the reaction of the King. And again it is curious that it is these authorities who are supposedly the spiritual and political leaders of these nations who are doubting.
When the gatekeepers announce to the King that the lepers are saying this about what has happened in the Syrian camp, look at the reaction of King Joram. It says that: "The King got up at night and said to his servants: I will tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry and they have come out of the tents and have hidden in the field saying: When they have come out from the city we will take them alive and enter the city. "
How interesting that this King Joram when he hears the Word instead of believing it, what he thinks is that the Syrians are setting a trap for them and that they are looking for this as a way to get the Israelites out of the walls and then take possession of the city and invade. the city.
And then finally the king agrees to see what is happening and sends some scouts and they certainly discover that the whole road is still littered with all kinds of belongings and clothes and food that the Syrians had left, and then these messengers of the king return. to the king and they give him the good news that yes, this is definitely how the lepers say.
Then it says in verse 16 that: "The people went out and sacked the camp of the Syrians and a seah of fine flour was sold for one cycle and two seahs of barley for one cycle according to Jehovah's Word." Exactly what Elisha had prophesied came to pass.
I suspect that the people had not even heard of this Word that Elisha had given but when there was all this provision of food and provisions, perhaps the leaders themselves said: Well, we are going to sell the food for this quantity and the fine flour for this quantity. executing the prophetic Word that God had given through Elisha because that Word had to be fulfilled.
Even unbelievers flow when God is in the matter, even though they themselves do not know that they are fulfilling God's Will. And this is what is going to happen in these times that the rulers are going to align themselves with the prophetic Word of God without them knowing it or wanting it but it will be so because it is what God is declaring.
And not only that but it also says that when the people went out to look for the food that was in the camp the king put that prince on whose arm he was leaning and: "The people ran over this prince at the entrance and he died according to what the man of God had said when the King came down to him. And it happened then in the way that God had spoken to the king saying: two seahs of barley for one cycle and the seah of fine flour would be sold for one cycle tomorrow at this time at the gates of Samaria. "
When God gave the Word it was fulfilled in every way. This man who had been unbelieving, who had been resistant to the Word of the Lord paid the price for his unbelief. Everything was put together in a wonderful way and the Word of the Lord was fulfilled exactly as it had been given through the prophet Elisha.
My brothers: As you can see this is a wonderful passage and I believe that I am declaring the Word of God to all who are listening and looking at this message. There is a great move of God that is approaching, the Church of Jesus Christ has to be prepared; This great invasion of evil that we see in the world, this great spiritual drought that we see in the nations, this great time of trouble in all the countries of the Earth and this plague of sin that is invading the nations is simply the power of God preparing the stage for His prophetic power to arise in the nations and to come a great harvest of souls like never before in history.
God is shaking the very foundations of the nations. Times of great suffering are coming for the nations as well. I believe that times are coming of great financial crisis in the countries of the world, natural cataclysms, great sufferings for the nations, but all this will be part of the preparation of the spiritual scenario for what God wants to do.
In that environment of great suffering, of extreme necessity, of great ignorance on the part of the leaders of the nations, the Word of the Church will come to the light of the nations as never before in history, which will be a Word of solution, a Word of blessing, a Word of power, of the mighty move of God. Miracles, signs, wonders and that Word will break all the fences of the enemy and the great harvest will come, the great blessing, the great provision that God has for these last times.
I declare this Word with the authority of the Lord and I believe that it must be fulfilled and it must be so and that not a single letter will fall to the ground. May the Lord bless you and may the grace of the Holy Spirit be with you all. I bid you farewell in the Name of Jesus, your fellow Pastor Roberto Miranda. Amen and amen.
