Summary: The story of the siege of Samaria in Second Kings chapter 6 shows us that no situation is too desperate for God. Even in extreme situations like famine and cannibalism, God can provide a solution. As Christians, we should never give up hope because we have a way out available to us through God. The apostle Paul reminds us in Second Corinthians chapter 4 that although we may face trouble, persecution, and distress, we are not helpless or desperate because we have God's power within us. We should always believe in God for a solution to our problems, no matter how difficult they may seem.

Children of God are never desperate, there is always a solution. No matter how desperate our situation may seem, in God's hands your problem can turn into something wonderfully glorious if you believe God for a solution.

In Second Kings chapter 6 beginning with verse 24 we have the story that perhaps some of you have read when the King of Syria Ben-hadad invades Israel specifically the northern part of Israel and surrounds and besieges the city of Samaria that was in that time the capital of Israel and when this site is established, this long-standing siege of the city spreads famine throughout the city of Samaria to the point that there is simply nothing to eat and we have an interesting story where it seems that some of the inhabitants of Samaria turn to the terrible resource of cannibalism and we have the story of these two women who enter into a macabre agreement to eat each other's children, so much was the hunger that raged in the city.

But the most important thing about this story is, we see here when this city is possessed by hunger and God gives a Word to the prophet Elisha that the next day there will be enough food for everyone at a very comfortable price and this It seems impossible but in the hands of God we know that nothing is impossible.

So this is a story of how faith and the Word of God can overcome and overcome any situation no matter how difficult it is. So the story says that: "It came to pass that Ben-hadad King of Syria gathered all his army and went up and besieged Samaria and there was great famine in Samaria as a result of that siege, so much so that the head of an ass was sold for eighty pieces of silver and a quarter of a head of pigeon dung was sold for five pieces of silver. "

We see that it is an extreme situation where hunger is everywhere and the city of Samaria is in a totally desperate situation. How many times have we found ourselves in situations of great need, of great poverty, of urgency where it does not seem that the solution is going to appear anywhere because the situation is so extreme and so difficult to solve?

This is how Samaria was at this time surrounded by a powerful army and there seemed to be no way out. Perhaps the only thought that I want you to take away from this segment that we are dealing with is the idea that: there is no situation no matter how difficult it is that God cannot solve. The Christian always has an outlet available, there is always something that God is going to do in our life.

This Word tells us never to throw in the towel no matter how desperate the situation is, with God there is always a solution, there is always a way out. The children of God are never helpless and while I say that I think of a passage from Second Corinthians and I am going to look for it here although I do not have exactly the place but perhaps I can leave you with that idea that simply so that you have it there in your heart, that can help you and can solve any situation in which you find yourself.

It says in chapter 4 Second Corinthians verse 7, it says: "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels so that the excellence of the power is from God and not from us, who are troubled in everything but not anguished; in distress but not desperate We are persecuted, "says the apostle Paul," but not helpless. Knocked down but not destroyed, always carrying the death of Jesus everywhere in our bodies so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. "

These people in Samaria were in a desperate situation, however the fact that God was in the matter caused that all that terrible situation to change and as we see here the apostle Paul says: although we are troubled in everything we are not in anguish, although we are in trouble we are not we are desperate, although we are persecuted as children of God we are not helpless.

We children of God are never desperate, there is always a solution no matter how desperate our situation seems in the hands of God your problem can turn into something wonderfully glorious if you believe God for a solution.

We will see later how this terrible hunger that Samaria was going through became a great provision of God that resulted in glory for the Name of God and thus I believe that in these times of lack in the world where it seems that there is no solution for Church problems God has a solution for His Church and He also has it for you in your own life. May the Lord bless you and until our next study.
