Summary: The recent natural disasters, diseases, and conflicts in the world are signs that were already announced in the Bible. We should not be alarmed but encouraged to prepare ourselves for the Second Coming of Christ. We do not know when this will happen, so we must examine ourselves and ask the Lord to transform us and prepare us for the encounter with Him. The peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
I have heard people wonder in great fear and confusion what is happening in the world. Recent natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, droughts, tornadoes - which seem to be more frequent now than ever ; as well as the different epidemics and diseases that affect a large part of human beings; also wars, nuclear weapons, conflicts between nations ... in short, a number of events have a large part of humanity in fear.
The truth is that all these things had already been announced, and they were coming. The Bible is very explicit about the signs before the end, and helps us understand when these things will be. In Matthew 24 the Lord warns us, giving us a list of events that must take place before His Second Coming. Many of these recent events are the portrait of Matthew 24. Just look around us, and we will realize that we are witnessing these signs.
With this exposition it is not my intention to alarm you, but rather to encourage you to search the times "For yet a little while, and he who is to come will come, and will not delay" (Hebrew 10:37). Verses 32-33 of Matthew 24 tell us "From the fig tree learn the parable: When its branch is tender, and the leaves sprout, you know that summer is near. So you too, when you see all these things, know that it is near the gates. " The apostle Paul also tells us that "Knowing the time, it is time to wake up from sleep; for now our salvation is closer to us than when we believed" (Romans 13:11).
The day of the Lord is drawing near, and the times confirm it. "The Lord does not delay his promise, according to some it is delayed, but he is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish" (2 Peter 3: 9). "Therefore, you also be prepared, because the Son of Man will come when you do not think (Matthew 24:44).
We do not know which will surprise us first, if the death or the coming of the Lord, what we must know for sure is that we are prepared for when we have to leave, because "of the day and the hour no one knows ..." (Matthew 24 : 36) I urge you to examine ourselves, and renew ourselves every day, and if we find ourselves lacking in anything, let us ask the Lord to transform us in his infinite mercy, and prepare us for the encounter with Him.
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4: 7)
What do you think about "It's coming!"? We would love to hear from you.
