Summary: The author loves to sing but has feared that they are doing it for themselves instead of for God. They realized that they were struggling with jealousy and envy towards others and blamed them for not being able to sing in the congregation. However, they came to the realization that this was not pleasing to God and needed transformation. The author encourages us to confront ourselves every time we have an unhealthy feeling towards others and ask God for humility and tolerance. We should not let vanity lead us to anger and envy. The devil is always trying to devour us, so we must be sober and watchful.

As on other occasions I have told you, I love to sing, I feel that my soul overflows from my lips when I praise, but sometimes I have called myself a chapter because I have feared that I am not doing it for God but to gratify myself.

In fact, it has been a long time since I sang in the congregation and for a while I blamed other people for this, who did and even expressed that they would not let me sing because I overshadowed them, fool me! If it had been a purpose of God that I sang, surely I would have been in the praise group, but I had no criticism of what was happening to me, I even refused to give this feeling a name, I thank God that I can do it today, because God dealt with me and the demons that tormented me showed their names "jealousy" and "envy". When one recognizes this and knows that it is not pleasing to the heart of God, he has taken the first step so that God can do his work in us through of a process called "transformation."

There are countless people who spend their lives in the church feeling this and are not even able to admit it to themselves, they live blaming others for being stumbling blocks for them, when what happens is that the weeds have infiltrated the heart. James 3.16 tells us: "Because where there is envy and rivalry, there is also confusion and all kinds of evil actions."

While we are in the flesh and in fact we are, although our being strives to walk in the spirit, we are going to have to cut ourselves short so as not to fall into these states. We know very well that there are very irritating people around us as well as we are sometimes irritating others, but it is not about them, it is about us and it is in prayer that we must ask God for the portion of humility and tolerance, the fruit of Spirit, who touches us as heirs of his incomparable Grace. In Galatians 5.26 the word tells us: "Let not vanity lead us to anger and envy one another."

We are still very far from perfection, but if we confront ourselves every time we have an unhealthy feeling towards a brother, we will realize that we leave the spiritual area and we have one foot in the flesh and then we only need our knees. and the heart to re-enter and place ourselves in the place that corresponds to us as children of God.

Let us not be tempted, “Be sober, and watch; because your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, prowls around looking for someone to devour "(1 Peter 5.8)

Let's not be easy prey, that "lion" has to give up trying.
