Summary: Marketing and planning within churches can sometimes lead to a focus on self rather than serving others and following God's plan. We should not choose our gifts or make plans without God's guidance, and should use our gifts for the edification of the church rather than self-gratification. The work of God is executed through the Holy Spirit, not through human planning.
Currently the misuse of Marketing within the churches is common, Christ is being seen as a product to offer and it is necessary to have a vision and a mission statement so that everything takes a nuance of seriousness and then make planning for the next 5 years and plan and plan ...
I have never managed to understand much of these things, for me they are very abstract, just like the ministries. Today in churches there are countless ministries that are sometimes confused with each other and few lead anywhere. I once heard people say: "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans" and that is an absolute truth. Who told us that we could make plans at will? He is the one who makes all the plans.
Try it and just dare to make plans without counting on Him and you will see what your day becomes, you will be filled with anxiety to fulfill what you have planned and you will never execute it, why? Because you are simply a servant and your Lord is the one who gives the orders. The day you become aware of this, you will wear out less, you will simply put yourself in his hands and you will let yourself be guided by him.
This also encompasses the gifts that God has given you. If someone told you that you are going to choose the gifts to perform, they deceived you, He is the one who gives you and who decides which ones and in what you are going to use them. We do not discover the gifts that we have and that God wants us to use for his glory, because we do not put them at the service of his people. We bury our talents and then wonder why they didn't multiply. We seek to exercise the gifts that give us self-gratification and give us recognition that elevates our self-esteem without realizing that we are so busy in this that we do not recognize the gifts that God wants us to put into action.
We envy the gifts that other brothers have and in that unhealthy feeling we ignore the wealth that we carry inside so that God works through us.
We do not have to have all the gifts at the same time, as it is said in 1 Corinthians 12.11 "But all these things are done by one and the same Spirit, distributing to each one in particular as he wants"
Brothers, be clear about this: The gifts are for the edification of the brothers, not for self-gratification. Not to boast in them, because we have nothing that has not been given to us "Because who distinguishes you? Or what do you have that you have not received? And if you received it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? " 1 Corinthians 4.7
So it's not about you, it's about the body of Christ. It is not thinking of yourself, it is thinking of serving others. The work of God is not projected in an office, it is projected on your knees and its executor is the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Let it flow freely.
