Summary: Believers in God should trust in Him alone, not in themselves or anything else. God opposes our independence and wants us to learn to depend on Him. Our victories and triumphs come from Jesus Christ alone. We should trust in Him in all situations, even when we face difficulties or challenges. To become more than conquerors, we must go through battles and take steps of faith, aligning ourselves with God's will. Sacrifice is a privilege, and we should imitate Jesus' example of sacrifice. As children of God, we should be joyful and grateful for the privilege of being called His children.
Trust in God is something totally different from trust in yourself. Believers in God should not put our trust in anything, or anyone other than in our savior Jesus Christ.
God opposes our independence attitude. He created us to learn to depend totally on Him. We are more than conquerors but only in Christ. Outside of Him we are nothing; and we can do nothing. Our triumphs and victories are centered on Jesus Christ; He alone is our helper.
When we try to do something and we do not achieve the desired results, when someone criticizes us, when we still lack the financial resources to achieve the things we need on a daily basis and when our interpersonal relationships are affected, our attitude should be the same; we have to central our trust in Jesus.
How many times do we let worries distress us to the extreme of taking us off sleep and in this way the enemy of our souls manages to keep us with our thoughts centered on ourselves and not on the Lord.
If you want to know if you are more than a victor, you must have been trained in battles, you cannot be a winner if you have not passed through the ranks of a battle. We believe that because we are a child of God we do not have to go through any difficult situation we all want it without any kind of sacrifice, as if we had fallen from heaven.
If so, how will our character be forged? If we don't have to wait, how can we be patient? Where is our confidence? Where is the Faith? Where is the trust?
To get to the end of the race and to be recipients of God's promises for our lives we have to take many steps of Faith. Take steps into the unknown doing things we have never done before. Remember that Faith is taking steps into the unknown but trusting in our Lord Jesus Christ not in our human prudence.
Many fearful people never jump into something new and end their days bitter and frustrated because they do not align themselves with God's will to become what God wants them to be. Others want to achieve a lot but in their own strength that is why we see so many failures and defeated lives; because apart from God we can do nothing.
Sending an agitated prayer to God to get us out of a problem in which we have become involved without first seeking his face and moving according to his holy will will not give us any assurance that God is committed to solving our problem even though our God is so good. and merciful that despite our lack of submission to him, he does many things for us even though we do not deserve it.
When we have trust in God and we are obedient to his voice, many times this will cost us great sacrifices but in the end we will see the fruit. Abram when God asked him to leave his home and relatives, this call undoubtedly cost him a lot, but he was obedient and we all know what was the result of his obedience.
When we think of sacrifice we must always remember that what we sow as a mere seed God uses to produce an abundant harvest. When you are called to do something for the kingdom of heaven, do not visualize it as a sacrifice but as a high privilege. Jesus sacrificed his own life for us and we as his followers must imitate his steps.
The Lord allow us to live each day more joyful for the privilege we have of being called children of the Most High God.
