Summary: A woman gets into a taxi and asks the driver to turn off the radio because she believes the music is wicked. The taxi driver tells her that in the time of Christ, there were no taxis or radios, so she should find a camel to transport her. This story reminds us to not judge others and criticize them based on our own beliefs. Instead, we should be imitators of Christ and show love to others. We should examine ourselves and work on our spiritual growth before trying to transform others.
My sister sent me this as a joke, I thought about it and made some modifications, I want to share it with you: A woman is signaling a taxi to stop. Once inside, he asks the taxi driver to turn off the radio "In the time of Christ there was no music like that and much less radio" said the traveler, "That music belongs to the wicked and I don't I can hear it. " The taxi driver turns off the radio, but at the next traffic light he stops the car, gets out of it and gently opens the back door.
The woman is surprised: "What's wrong? We haven't reached my destination yet" she asks a little annoyed. "Look, Ma'am" says the taxi driver "in the time of Christ there were no taxis, so please get out of mine and find a camel to transport you."
It seems like a joke, but it is quite serious, I want you to think how many times have we criticized someone who does not even know the Bible and treated him as if we were superior to him? How many times have we criticized one of our brothers? Not with love as God commands us in his word, but with malicious intent, making him feel bad and sometimes embarrassing him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ left us many teachings and among them is that of Matthew 7.3-5 where he tells us “And why do you look at the straw that is in your brother's eye, and you don't miss the beam that is in your own eye? ? Or how will you say to your brother: Let me remove the straw from your eye and behold the beam in your eye? Hypocrite! first remove the beam from your own eye and then you will see well to remove the straw from your brother's eye "
If we say that we have faith in Christ, we must be imitators of Him, if we do not fulfill any of his teachings, then we do not believe that they are true and that competes with our faith.
It is unimaginable the number of people weak in faith who desert from our militias for this reason, they are attacked by us in some way we make them feel guilty and that is not the idea they have formed of someone who claims to give the image of the living God .
To this Ministry of Electronic Counseling that God has put in my hands come many hearts bleeding from wounds inflicted by their brothers and what is worse, by Pastors, Ministers of God who must be translucent crystals through which the image of Christ.
Where is our faith?
Where does the love of which God speaks to us in his word?
Why so many missing from the churches?
We justify ourselves by saying that we should not set our eyes on man. Are we not the body of Christ? If we are the body of Christ, they have to see it in us. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 13.5 “Examine yourselves if you are in the faith; prove yourselves. Or do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobate? "
Therefore brothers, beware of being a stumbling block for a brother weak in faith, see first if you are an example for others, transform your life first before wanting to act as God to transform someone else's. Our Lord tells us in Mark 9.42 "Anyone who makes one of these little ones who believe in me stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were tied around his neck and thrown into the sea." Such is the result of being a stumbling block to a weak in faith!
Let's examine ourselves, let's work on our spiritual growth, let's look more inside ourselves so that we don't even have to open our mouths to preach, let's be recognized for our fruits “and renew yourselves in the spirit of your mind and put on the new man, created according to God. in the justice and holiness of the truth ”. Eph 4.23-24
What do you think about "Renewing the spirit of our mind"? We would love to hear from you.
