Summary: Believers are called to bear fruit, which means living a life that is productive for the Kingdom of God. This is not a legalistic obligation, but rather a result of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We are responsible for living a life that is pleasing to the Lord, living in holiness, and bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God. This can be done through prayer and intercession, financial support of local congregations and missions, and contributing to emergency needs among believers. These are basic essentials that are within reach for all believers.

Apart from us walking in holiness, the apostle Paul also points out the importance of bearing fruit in every good work. Many believers wonder: well, what does this concept of bearing good fruit mean?

Over and over again the Lord Jesus Christ teaches us and the other Gospel scriptures call us to a life of bearing fruit, a life of productivity for the Kingdom of God. Bearing fruit is not an option for the believer, bearing fruit is an obligation we could say.

But it is not a sterile obligation, it is not something that we do in a legalistic way but rather it is something that must be spontaneously detached from us as a result of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. I believe that all that a believer needs to bear fruit for the Lord is firstly the presence of the Holy Spirit within him or her and then a desire and a purpose to bear fruit to the Lord, an awareness that that is what we are put into. Christian life.

We are not placed in the Gospel to benefit from the Church or the teachings of the Church or to inherit eternal life. Today there are many people who come to Church simply to receive something and many times we Pastors are very willing to promote that idea of the Christian life as a life where God is simply a generous provider who gives us everything we need. The money we want, a happy marriage, a healthy life, financial abundance, but that is all and there is not enough talk about the responsibilities of the Christian.

One of those responsibilities as we saw earlier is to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord, a life of holiness and a behavior that reflects, that is worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ. Another obligation, another expectation for the children of God is that we bear fruit, that we produce something that is beneficial for the Kingdom of God, for the Church of Jesus Christ, for the advancement of God's purposes here on Earth. Not only to receive us but also as a fruit of the Presence of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit in us that we also strive to be beneficial to the Kingdom of God.

That means that we at least have to pray for our Church, for the pastors as we said before, for the believers. The life of prayer is one of the most basic things for every believer. By praying and interceding for people we are advancing the Kingdom of God. The Lord Jesus Christ prayed: "Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven" showing us that we should simply pray that God's Will be done in the world.

Another thing we can bear fruit for is praying for God to bless our secular leaders. The Bible calls us to pray for rulers, for people in positions of power that we live peaceful lives and that governments function as they should rule and that we make room in the world for God to put rulers in fear of Him and for that politics, history, economics advance according to the purposes of God on Earth. So one of the minimum things we have to do is pray and intercede.

Another minimal thing, another way to bear basic fruit for the children of God is to support the Kingdom of God through our finances. Every believer must be a tither, he must be a cheerful giver, he must be a person who contributes to the financial health of the spiritual community to which he belongs. In passing I thank the Lord for those of you who have expressed a desire to support the work of God Speaks Today. This costs money and all we have to do to keep these shows on the air and run the internet.

And I know that some of you have expressed a desire to support us financially. I want to encourage you to do that, we are working to build a system through which you can contribute and I encourage you to remain restless so that when the time comes you can begin to support us so that we can spread this resource of God Speaks Today in other places.

But definitely the least we can do is support our local congregations and support anything that advances the Kingdom of God, missions, contribute for when there is a need among the children of God, an emergency, a tragedy or something we have to be willing with our money to support the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

So there you have two very basic essentials that are at hand almost literally for all believers, pray and intercede and also give financially to advance the Kingdom of God. All of this is bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God so God bless you, we will continue our meditation in our next program.
