Summary: The author believes that prayer should be a lifestyle and not just a scheduled activity. She communicates with God throughout the day and believes that it is important to show Him how dependent we are on His decisions. Prayer does not need to be in a special place or with closed eyes, as we are always special to God no matter where we are.
I always ask God to allow me to wake up with a praise in my mind and as always, my good Shepherd grants it to me, when the light enters my eyes, and a praise surrounds my thought reminding me that He will always be my light and my awakening.
The subject of prayer has been much debated, I am not exactly a model of a "woman of prayer" and I do not mean it in the sense that I do not speak with God, no, He is a permanent occupant in my space, I spend almost the 90% of my time talking to him, thanking him for everything that happens in my life, sometimes and I have learned this by beating him up, even for what I consider inconvenient, because God has taught me along the way, that this works for the good of my life.
Sometimes our life takes a 180 degree turn, unexpected things happen that even we did not dream would come, but always, in the end, we realize that they worked for our good as God points out in Romans 8:28 and through them we know facets of our personality and capacities that we did not know were in us.
It is true that I am not “a woman of prayer”, but it would be of no use every day of my life to fall on my knees for just a little while every morning and then spend the rest of the time on my feet, walking the wrong paths.
I conceive prayer as a lifestyle, every minute of my life has to be in prayer, my Father has to know everything that goes through my mind and not only because He is almighty and can scrutinize me, but because I am communicating to Him Every step I take.
Has it not happened to you that when you kneel to pray you forget many of the reasons you had foreseen?
So why am I going to wait at a certain time to communicate with Him? No, I need to have Him online all day, the consequence is that I do not give Him rest, this must be why I sleep every night in one fell swoop and peacefully , I wish I was like my husband, for example, who wakes up at dawn to pray and in fact I have asked God to grant me this but I have never achieved it, it is as if he said to me: - My daughter, not at dawn! you will give me rest! This is a joke, but what I mean is that the problem is not praying in preconceived ways, but, just as our relationship with God is personal and authentic, also our way of praying should be and if some brothers feel blessed with pray only in the morning, then go ahead, but let's be clear that this is not a pattern, the important thing is that every second of our life we are in communion with our Father because He likes us to take it into account and show him how dependent we are of his decisions to live, because they are the really perfect ones.
So, talk to the Father at all times, to pray we do not need a special place, it is not even essential to close our eyes, we are special to Him wherever we are and under any conditions.
