Summary: Intercession, praying for each other, is essential for the Christian life. We should pray for our loved ones, church leaders, and members of our congregation. The Apostle Paul prayed for his followers, asking that they be filled with the knowledge of God's will. We should also ask the Lord for wisdom and intelligence, both practical and spiritual, to make wise decisions in life. This deeper knowledge comes from a close relationship with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit's revelation.
Intercession is something absolutely necessary for the Christian life and for every believer. Let's get in the habit of praying for each other because this has great value and great power in the long run in fostering healthy and powerful believers and communities.
We have to pray for each other. We have to pray and intercede for our children, our husbands and wives, our homes, the Church, the leaders of our Congregations particularly the pastors who are under terrible spiritual attack and need the prayer support of the parishioners, we have to pray for the members of our Congregation, our relatives.
We will never know here on Earth how important our prayers will have been for our loved ones and for our brothers in the faith. We only know that the Bible tells us over and over again that we have to pray for each other and that certainly the Apostle Paul, this great man of God who knew the Will of God in a very exceptional way, practiced prayer a lot on behalf of his followers. .
But he also says that he does not stop praying and asking that the believers in Colosse in the first place be filled with the knowledge of His Will, the Will of God specifically. One of the things that Paul is asking then is that the children of God, the Church in Colosse but also the whole Church be flooded by a knowledge of the Will of God. We have to ask the Lord: Lord teach me Your Will, Your purpose for my life, Your purpose for my marriage, Your purpose for my Church, the leaders have to ask the Lord: Lord teach me Your Will for the ministry that I lead.
One of the first things we have to ask the Lord before asking for power or money or health is: Lord teach me what is Your desire for my life, give me understanding, give me wisdom, discernment. These are things that we have to ask the Lord always to please Him, in order to live a life that is according to His purpose. First of all we have to ask the Lord for great wisdom and knowledge.
Then he says: "To ask that you be full" is a request for abundance, right? it is from a knowledge of God's Will that is overwhelming and all-encompassing. It says: "In all spiritual wisdom and intelligence." I believe that these two words wisdom and intelligence are two slightly different things, they are not simply the same concept said in two different and redundant ways. When Paul speaks of wisdom, he is saying a general knowledge, a knowledge also of practical things in life, right? How to conduct ourselves with the people around us, how to make wise and practical and understood decisions.
But I also believe that he is saying when he says of knowledge and intelligence he is speaking of a more specific knowledge, of revelation on the part of God, of an already deeper, more concrete understanding of what God wants for our life. It's like that secret knowledge that spies and spy agencies have of the enemy's movements, right? it is an already deeper and more hidden knowledge.
So we have to ask the Lord always: Father give me wisdom for life matters, practical decisions about work, finances, human relationships, ministry but also give me knowledge at the deep level, knowledge at the level of that spiritual intelligence, give me Your specific revelation, teach me those secrets of Yours and those things that only Your Holy Spirit can reveal to me about decisions that no one else will be able to reveal to me but You through Your Spirit through dreams, through revelations directly to our spirit, through prophetic words, through communication through prayer using spiritual languages, through the reading of the Word specifically illuminated by the Holy Spirit.
This is what I consider spiritual intelligence, it's like intelligence services, right? that is what they do, they seek secret knowledge hidden from normal citizens but that are very important to lead us through war. So let's always ask the Lord for two things: practical wisdom but also spiritual intelligence that comes directly from the Holy Spirit for our lives. And those two things, wisdom and intelligence will come as a consequence we will see later on a deep relationship with Jesus Christ because He is the power that unleashes and unleashes these nutrients of wisdom and spiritual intelligence that we need.
May the Lord bless you and until our next meditation, Pastor Roberto Miranda says goodbye, God bless you.
